    Consider the following:At our very core we are made of energy, and that energy courses through us andfuels our lives. Everything in this world is made of energy, but many forms of itare beyond our limited ability to perceive because they are vibrating at such ahigh rate of speed. Think about some of the various types of energy we take forgranted in our lives every day: radio waves, sound waves, microwaves, even theinternetwe cant see them, but we obviously know they are real. Over time, wehave learned to use these different forms of energy to make our lives easier, moreefficient and more enjoyable.     THE FUNDAMENTALS BEHIND THE SYSTEM.

    What we perceive as solid matter isnothing more than empty space filled with a

    pattern of energy running through it.

    Until fairly recently we believed that all things in our world were separate. What

    we are now learning is that this is an interconnectedworld that everything inexistence is connected at the subatomic level to everything else. Many modernphysicists now hold the view that allmatter is made of energy, right down to thevery smallest of subatomic particles. These particles are not solid think ofthem as clusters of energy that are vibrating at specific frequencies. The slowerthe vibration, the more dense or solid they appear to be. Scientists claim to havetraced every bit of energy that currently exists right back to the very beginning ofspace and time, and to have discovered that we are connected to everyone andeverything through this vast network of energy.

    Here are a few key theories to consider:

    Everything in the universe appears to be made of energy.

    We, too appear to be made of energy right down to a subatomic level.

    Energy is believed to be connected in a network that spans both space andtime.

    We are interconnected with all that exists.

    Our energy field is constantly interacting with other energy fields.

    Energy is always in motion, and it cannot be created or destroyed.

    Our various thoughts, emotions and actions influence our personal energyfield.

    Energy frequencies naturally attract and synchronize with similar energy.

    Our personal energy fields can effect physiological changes in our bodies.

    All of this happens continuously and is ongoing.

    We are connected.Many scientists now hold the view that we are not truly separate from each otheror anything else in existence. Physicist Stephen Hawking theorized that the

    universe is still expanding, and that it has been since the Big Bang 13 billionyears ago. In 2003 with data collected from the WMAP satellite probe, he (amongothers) was proven correct. After plotting the positions, moving paths andtemperatures of galaxies, stars and planets across the universe, scientistsconfirmed that the galaxies are still cooling, still expanding outward, and thateverything could be mapped back to a single point in time and space when matterfirst came into being. He postulates that this singular, massive explosion of light,heat and energy billions of years ago was the origin of all energy (and matter) thatcurrently exists and that it is all still connected.

    It is believed that energy flows through us and manifests in the form of an energy

    field that carries specific frequencies. These frequencies waves of energyaffected by our thoughts and feelings naturally seek to align and synchronizewith other frequencies of a similar vibration. Our individual energy fields are partof a much, much larger network of energy (think of your personal computer inrelation to the entire worldwide web) and it is through this network or lattice ofenergy that we are connected to allthat exists. Our energy affects us internally andinfluences the world around us.

    The scientific community is joined by the clinical professions in acknowledgingthe influence of our consciousness, and in validating the measurable effects ofour thoughts, feelings and attitudes. A great deal of interesting research is

    Think about itif we are made of energy, then all of the properties of energy alsoapply to us.Why not learn how to work in harmony with these natural properties

    and use them to enhance our lives? Weve all heard the old adages: Every actionhas a reaction; Like attracts like; Whatever you put out there comes back to you;You get what you ask for. Quantum physics is beginning to substantiate what wehave heard (and intuitively known to be true) for years.

    Now, if we take the scientific information and break it down into bite size chunksthat we can realistically apply to our everyday lives, here is what we end up with:

    The impact of our energy is measurable.

    Our energy fluctuates with our thoughts, feeling and actions.

It means that our livestoday are a reflection of yesterdays thoughts, beliefs and actions and ourtomorrows are dictated by what we do right now. It also means that we canactively shape our lives and our futures. With this knowledge under our belts, wecan start to do things a little bit differently from here on out. We can consciouslychoose to align ourselves with what we want to experience, knowing that theworld will automatically respond! The pages to follow will show you how to begin.

    Your thoughts affect your physical reality. They are measurable waves of energythat flow through you, emanate from you and generate physiological changeswithin your body on a cellular level. Your thoughts also charge your energy field

    Your conscious mind is the part of your mind that you use everyday to think,

    reason and make decisions. Its the logical, linear part of your mind that you useto accept or reject ideas, schedule appointments, plan events and dial the phone.Your conscious mind is impressive, but in reality, it represents only a fraction ofyour actual mental capacity. If you really want to explore your abilities and yourpotential you have to tap into the much greater power of your subconscious mind,and train it to work on your behalf.

    Your subconscious is extraordinarily powerful, and it is always working behindthe scenes. It knows no limits, it is habitual, and it works in a multidimensional,non-linear fashion. This is your creative mind your connection to inspiration,intuition, awareness and higher consciousness. Your subconscious stores your

    memories, values, self-image, thoughts, beliefs, and it monitors every bodilyfunction. It can easily manage thousands of things at once (your conscious mindcan only deal with a few things at a time) and it processes somewhere aroundfour billion bits of data per second. Compare this to your conscious minds abilityto process only about two thousand bits of data per second, and you can see whyit makes sense to take advantage of this incredible internal resource.     Interestingly enough, your subconscious mind is completely literal. It has noability to discern or make decisions, so it will automatically accept whatever youtell it as truth! Whatever you plug into it repeatedly will stick it makes nojudgments about whether or not the information you give it is right or wrong. Ifyou are constantly plugging in information that says this is a dangerous world orthat you are not good enoughit will believe you. If you are programming in theidea that this is an abundant world, ripe with possibilities and opportunities, andthat you can do anythingit will believe you! You can mold and train yoursubconscious mind in any way you choose. Its up to you to cultivate positiveinternal thoughts and beliefs that will help you succeed in life and achieve yourobjectives.     Everything we think and feel (whether were consciously aware of it or not)ripples out into the worldand the world responds. Its essential to look at whatwere putting out there on this unconscious level, too, and make sure it alignswith what we want to experience more of.

    Taking responsibility for your beliefs andjudgments gives you the power to change them.

    Its a lot like falling in love when you fall in love with someone; you direct yourattention to all of the great qualities in your partnernot the flaws or defects. Dothe same thing with yourself and fall in love with yourlife! Focus on the beautyand pay attention to all the fabulous little details. Dont waste your time or energyany longer by gossiping, complaining or feeling sorry for yourself focus on thegood things, the miracles and the opportunities that surround you, instead.Whatever you focus on is what you will inevitably end up experiencing more of,so set your radar for the great qualities in people and the great things in life.

    Our focused thoughts affect our energy field and its frequency, which in turnaffects our reality. Werner Heisenberg (renowned physicist well known for theHeisenberg uncertainty principal) theorized that we influence the outcome of anevent by the mere fact that we are observing it by the fact that we are payingattention to it. We are apparently changing the physical world around us throughour very observations.

    It is impossible to exist in this world without influencing it. This is just anotherreminder to keep our focus and our attention aligned to what we want to create inour lives. It reinforces the importance of keeping our outlooks and attitudespositive, and our focus on the blessings in our lives.

    Our subconscious minds continually filter incredible amounts of data andinformation for us. We are surrounded by so much external input that it isliterally impossible to process all of it, so this filtering serves a very important

    purpose. It selectively lets into our consciousness the information we havedeemed to be important and relevant to us over time: it responds to whatever weare repeatedly focused on, or currently devoting our attention to.

    You may have noticed this happening in your own life have you ever boughtsomething special for yourself and then suddenly you see it everywhere? Youveprogrammed yourself to allow this particular item into your consciousness. Thissame approach works for everything. If you are focused on pain and lack, you willfind them everywhere, and if you are focused on joy and abundance, you will findthem everywhere, too.

    WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?

    Your words carry even more weight than your thoughts do, so think before youspeak. Spoken and written words are even more impactful than thoughts because

    you have taken action to express them, infusing them with greater energy andattention. As you go through your day, try to be mindful of how you phrase thingsand avoid giving too much attention to the things you dontwant. Phrase thingsin a positive way that focuses on the results you desire, instead. For instance: ifyou are concerned about being overweight and want to do something about it,keep your emphasis on the solution not the problem. Your thoughts, focus andspeech will better serve your cause if they are not about being fat or overweight,but about being strong, fit and healthy! Try to keep your written and spokenwords aligned with your intentions and the goals you wish to achieve.

    This applies to people, too. Dont criticize or belittle other people and avoid using

    harsh words or making self-deprecating remarks. This sort of behavior is justgoing to boomerang right back at you in one form or another, so being kind andsupportive of yourself and others is in your best interest. Be kind to yourself, andto the people around youa few kind words can change someone elses day, oreven their life.

    Great communication skills are invaluable, but pay attention to what you arereally saying through your body language and nonverbal communication, too.Your words dont mean much if they arent sincere or if theyre directlycontradicted by your stance, posture or facial expressions! Notice the subtlemessages you are sending out andreceiving. Look people in the eye and listen towhat they are telling you (without judging them or seeking their approval)through their words, gestures and energy. Be sure to speak respectfully to thepeople you interact with in your daily life and acknowledge them for who theyreally are. Everybody is equally valuable and everybodys contribution is equallyimportant regardless of age, circumstance, occupation or income.

    Your emotions are the fuel behind your energy. They dont just affect you; they

    affect everyone and everything around you. If youve ever stepped into a room inthe middle of somebody elses heated argument you know how this feels. Youprobably felt the energy an almost palpable tension in the air. The intensity ofyour feelings amplifies their energy and their strength. Once you become awareof what you are feeling and how strongly you are feeling it, you can begin to makechoices about whether or not this is a feeling you want to hold onto. If you do notlike it, dont embrace it as your reality. You are not obligated to feel anything thatis not of your choosing, and nobody else can make you feel a certain way unlessyou allow them to.

    Your emotions are always telling you somethingstart listening! In many ways

    they are your internal compass becoming more aware of them will help youknow whether you are moving in the right direction or not. You know whensomething feels right! You feel enthusiastic, excited, joyful and grateful. Whensomething is right, it lifts your spirits and feels good on every level. If somethingfeels wrong or uncomfortable, dont ignore it. Slow down and listen to what youremotions (or intuition) are telling yoube willing to have a good honest look atwhat might be wrong with the situation before moving ahead.

    up against major roadblocks and dead ends, and you find yourself feelingconstantly frustrated or angrypay attention. Take a moment to re-evaluate yourgoals and intentions and decide whether or not this is something you wish to

    continue.

    Now, this doesnt mean that if something is challenging or difficult you shouldabandon it. If you are passionate about something that you know is part of yourpurpose- you need to be resilient and persistenteven in the face of rejection.Rejection can be a blessing, after all. Sometimes you may just need more time tohone your efforts or perhaps there is something better out there waiting for you.Whenever youre working in harmony with your passion and your purpose, youwillknow it, because you are also working in harmony with nature. You will feelgood about yourself, feel things flowing (as opposed to pushing or feeling like youare going against the tide) and have a clear sense that you are on the right path.

    Remember to play a little bit, too having fun is good for you. Its important tomake time in your life for recreation, adventure and doing the things you love todo. This not only promotes balance in your life (making you more productive andefficient in all that you do) it also sets you up for more experiences of this samenature. Every airline has the same preflight safety drill they always tell you toput your oxygen mask on firsta great rule for life! This is not selfishbehaviorits survival 101. If you donttake care of yourself and start doing thethings that bring you joy, you wont have much to give anyone else.

    Make intelligent emotional choices. Being open and loving does not meanthat you canfixeverything or everyone. Everyone is on their own journey and youhave to honor where they are in their lives. If a person or situation makes you feelfearful, insecure or emotionally drained just notice it and limit your exposure tothat person. Its your job to listen to your intuition and extricate yourself fromthe people and experiences that do not serve your highest good whenever

    possible. Make a conscious choice to surround yourself with inspirational peopleand uplifting circumstances.     Over the years, we have all programmed in some automatic behavior patterns immediate reactions to various people and circumstances that we fall back upon.

    It is a good idea to notice when this is happening: you may be simply reactinghabitually rather than for any valid reason! If something always makes youangry or stressed out, you are not really taking responsibility for yourself. Choosea more open minded, conscious response from now on instead of simplyreverting to autopilot. In this manner, with a little bit of practice and repetition,you can break free of old reactive patterns.

    Beware of labeling things as good or bad in your life, too. This will help youavoid those kneejerk reactions to situations, people and events in your life. Its allabout perception. If you perceive being stuck in traffic for an hour on the wayhome as bad, you probably go right into anger, impatience and frustration. If

    you dont judge or label the situationyou stop fighting reality. You can use thatextra time in the car in any number of great ways once you free yourself fromyour preconceived ideas and labels. You can use the time for reflective thought,listen to an audio book, or turn up the radio and sing out loudhave some funwith it! You cannot control everything in life, but you can control how yourespond to things and how you handle them from this point on.

    Remember, the amount of energy that exists across the universe is constant andfinite: we cant make more of it and we cant destroy it. This means the only wayto increase our positive (loving or expansive) energy is to decrease our negative(fear based or limiting) energy. The best way to get rid of negative reactions,

    emotions or beliefs when they arise is to welcome them without judgment, look atwhat they are telling us and then consciously shiftthem to a better place.

    If you are feeling sad, angry or fearful, you can make a decision to change the wayyou are feeling. You can take simple actions to lift your spirits and turn theseemotions around dance, go for a run, do something you love, meditate, listen tosome uplifting musicdo whatever works best for you personally. The point isthat you can transform them if they arent in line with what you want toexperience more of. Your Vision Book will also help you achieve and maintain amore optimistic attitude, and it is a tangible reminder to keep going and staypositive.

We have to begin thinking forourselves real success is something that is completely personal, and different foreach one of us. Our true dreams, goals and aspirations come from a much deeper

    place than mere consumer driven messages they come from within.

    Think of your life as trip you want to planyou would begin by choosing yourdestinations, keeping in mind that these chosen destinations represent muchmore than just physical locations- they reflect the things you want to do, feel andexperience. The best trips leave some room for adventure and spontaneity alongthe way, and some of the best times in life come from those spontaneousmoments! Your journey is just as important as your goals or destinations, but youmust have a clear destination in order to set your course and get moving!

    ENHANCING YOUR AWARENESS.

    There are many ways to enhance your awareness and connect with your inner joy,intuition and wisdom. Positive thinking, focus techniques, affirmations, visualization,gratitude, prayer and meditation are a few of the ways you can do this. These

    transformational tools will strengthen your energy field and your connection toyour subconscious mind. All of these methods are addressed in your Vision Book.

    Visualization exercises and techniques are especially effective because the imagesyou plug into your subconscious are so powerful. Our minds work in pictures,and vividly imagined experiences will trigger all of the same emotional andphysiological responses that the actual experiences do, right down to a cellularlevel. The Cleveland Clinic Foundationconducted an interesting study comparing people who went to the gym withpeople who simplyvisualizedthe workouts and did no actual exercise. There wasa 30% muscle increase among the gym goers, but the other group (who onlyperformed the mental exercises) also increased their muscle strength by 13.5%.

    Great coaches and athletes have utilized this technique successfully for manyyears. Heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali used visualization andvarious mental practices to help him stay in peak mental and physical conditionduring his fighting years. Olympic athletes invariably cite visualization as one oftheir key strategies for success, and champion golfer Tiger Woods began using

    this form of mental training before he was even a teenager. Jack Nicklaus (world-class golfer) was once quoted as saying that he never hit a shot (not even inpractice) without first having a clear, sharp, focused picture of it in his mind.

    Studies have shown that this type of mental imagery trains the brain for theactual physical experience and ultimately for success. Visualization has thepotential to influence all areas of our lives. It has been shown to promote healingand recovery, and it affects several different cognitive processes in the brain,including perception, planning, motor control, focus, and memory. Awarenesstechniques and exercises like visualization and positive thinking techniques canincrease motivation, boost self-confidence and improve motor skill performance.

    for ourselves. Taking some time each day to step away from the noise and bestillhas amazing physiological and psychological benefits. This promotes a more positive outlook, and makes room for moreexpansive thoughts and feelings that are good for your mind, body, and spirit!

    Meditation has been shown to increase your awareness, change your brain wavepatterns (actually synchronizing both hemispheres of your brain therebystrengthening your energy field,) boost your feelings of happiness and well-being,and transform you on a cellular level. It also helps you feel more centered,enhances your energy levels and increases your focus, memory and learning skills.

    Meditation is the only intentional, systematic human activitywhich at bottom is about not trying to improve yourself or get anywhere

    else, but simply to realize where you alreadyare.

    Strangely enough, most of us resist taking these few minutes of quiet timeespecially when we need it the most. Think of this as maintenance, or a way toreboot your computer you have to empty the trash that has accumulated in the

    There is a great deal of current research supporting the idea that prayer andmeditation are both much more influential than was previously believed. Groupprayer studies have shown impressive results in everything from healing inhospital settings to metropolitan crime rate reductions illustrating not only thepower of prayer, but also the power of community. There is little dispute thatwhen we gather together with a common cause, focus or intention, our collectiveconsciousness is far more powerful than the sum of its parts. There is anexponential increase in the energy field created by a group of likemindedindividualsthere is power in numbers!

    Neuroscientist Dr. Richard Davidson, director of the Waisman Laboratory forBrain Imaging and Behavior, has done some notable research on the efficacy ofmeditation. In one particular study, he worked with both trained and untrained

    practitioners: a group of monks who were superbly trained, and an untrainedstudent control group. The results showed that the act of meditation (in this casewith a focus on compassion) activated the trained minds of the monks insignificantly different ways from the group of student volunteers. The monksproduced gamma waves that were30 times as strong! In addition, larger areas oftheir brains were active, particularly in the left prefrontal cortex, which is the partof the brain responsible for positive emotions. Oscillations from various parts ofthe cortex were also synchronized.

    It is interesting to note that even the control group of students who participatedshowed substantial improvements in the strength of their gamma wave output

    over the course of the experiment. This study has many implications and itbeautifully illustrates our ability to train and strengthen our brain functionthrough focus, practice and repetition.

    Meditation practiced on a regular basis serves to rewire us and strengthen ourenergy fields. Deep meditation will expand your awareness and help open you upmore fully to all that life has to offer. A few minutes of this still time each day willhave a profound effect in your life. It will help you connect with the vast powerand speed of your subconscious mind, as well as your inner wisdom, inner peaceand intuition. It will also connect you with the present moment and increase yourability to recognize opportunities and resources as they appear in your life.

You have to know when to step away from itand how to keep it at arms lengthyou have to know when to turn off the news!As you become increasingly aware of your thoughts and beliefs, try to alsobecome more aware of what you are continuously programming into yourreality through your activities and your focused attention. Start choosing moreuplifting information whenever possible. Immerse yourself in positive activitiesand surround yourself with inspirational people, input and influences.

    The purpose of life, after all, is to live it,to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly

    and without fear for newer and richer experience.

It will shift your energy, your focus and your attitude instantly.When you let yourself really feel gratitude with all of your being, it washes awayfear, stress and doubt entirely. So, if you want to create a brighter, moremeaningful future start acknowledging what you are grateful for each day andthe blessings that already exist in your life. As you do, you will find that there ismore and more to be grateful for.

    Try it out: take some time right now and think of something or someone that you

    When you are grateful for something, it actually activates the dopamine receptorsin the cerebral frontal cortex of your brain, making you feel good. Gratitude aidsin healing and recovery from injuries and traumatic events, too. University ofCalifornia Davis professor Dr. Robert Emmons has done extensive research onthe subject of gratitude, and he cites numerous advantages to living with greaterappreciation. He has found that gratitude can be cultivated to enhance energylevels, improve relationships, strengthen communities, reduce stress, andimprove emotional and physical health, creative thinking and academicperformance.

    Express your gratitude often, simply and sincerely to others. It enriches your lifeand it honors them. Dont worry about reciprocationthats not the point. Anytruly honest expression of love does not need or expect anything in return fromthe other person. It is a gift to them and to you, as well. We allwant to be seen,heard and acknowledgedwe all want to know that we matter. When you take the

    time to appreciate somebody elses job well done, their attention to detail or evensimply their presence, it makes them feel valued, it encourages them to pay itforward, and on an unseen level a ripple effect ensues. Your smile will nearly

    If people all over the world made this one small effort to be kinder and moreappreciative great things would occur. The world would experience anincredible shift through gratitude alone. Dont dismiss your ability to affectchange in your life or on the planet! Remember, everything you think, feel, say ordo is already impacting the world. Life is not always easy but it can be simple.The expression of love and gratitude is a simple and immediate means of effectivetransformation.

    As you continue to journal you will begin to notice that the things you are gratefulfor at the end of the day are not usually material thingsmore often they arefeelings and things like a loving moment, a helping hand, gorgeous sky, a coolbreeze, laughter, friendship, or a deep sense of connection. Becoming aware ofthis will also help you realize and appreciate what matters most in your life.
