In China, about 1 in 600 children is born with a cleft lip, cleft palate, or both. Although most clefts can be repaired through proper surgery, many families are unable to afford the cost, and their child grows up facing untold hardships.

Operation Smile-China Medical Mission organizes volunteer teams of doctors and nurses to rural and mountainous regions in mainland China, to provide surgery and post operative care at no fee.

Your Personalized Wardrobe

“Dear, our old wardrobe was full of your clothing that they were all stuffed and messy, wasn’t it? It’s good that now our house starts renovating, so this is the right time to plan for the designs and settings of our future wardrobe.” Mr. Chan is staring at the 10-year old wardrobe and curious on how it could turn to be the efficient one. “Hubby, our old wardrobe was getting too out-of-date. But I am not sure if there are better ideas on the functional designs, perhaps you should ask the interior design firm to get the answer.” Mr. Chan agrees with this idea, and then he seeks some advices from the designer Vincee.

“When designing wardrobes, maximizing every centimetre of space becomes the priority. This usually means not just more places to store things, but smarter and more functional solutions to your apparel needs and preferences. For your best ever wardrobe, every setting should be thoroughly planned and well designed that reflects your personality. And for many of us – perhaps because we are too busy enough to skip some detail planning during home renovation. But things are getting easy here; you may refer to our ideas below of what should go together.”

1. The Ideal Size of WardrobeGenerally, the size of wardrobe is measured in terms of linear metre (1 LM = 3.3 Lft) as the unit. The standard dimension – with depth of 600mm (D) and height of 2400mm(H). If the depth is shorter than 600mm(D), the wardrobe board may not be perfectly fit for the bunch of clothes, resulting the creases on your outfits (particularly for sliding doors). Besides, the wardrobe with depth over 600mm(D) could cost additional charges. To be the big money saver and to attain the best functional outcomes, the best dimension of wardrobe is 600mm(D) x 2400mm(H).

2. Your Personalized Wardrobe PlanWardrobe planning is an art. No matter how large your wardrobe and closet are, the functionality of wardrobe draws on your apparel needs and types. An imperfect planning could result the waste of space, at the same time, you will easily get lost in a wardrobe when all the items are stuffed to the brim. This is similar to the case of Mrs. Chan.

3. Your Types of OutfitsBefore setting up your wardrobe plan, you can sort your outfits by type, quantity and size to fit each of the combinations (drawers, shelving units, pants case, compartments for short outfits and long outfits). The solution is easy for everyone.

「老婆,你記不記得以前個衣櫃塞滿晒你既野,簡直亂七八遭,剛好我地屋企又開始裝修,都係時候計劃下第時個衣櫃喇!」陳先生一直凝視著那個用了 10 年的舊衣櫃,並一邊疑惑如何把它打造更稱身的款式。「其實個衣櫃都用左好多年,我真係唔知最新的衣櫃可以設計成點,老公不如你就趁這段時間問一問裝修設計公司啦!」聽到老婆的一番建議,陳先生覺得絕對可行,於是就請教裝修設計公司的Vincee。

「要定制一個完全合適自己的衣櫃,講求不但是容量和外型設計,仲需要依個人衣著習慣、時裝喜好、甚至個性的設定。因此衣櫃既定制係大有學問架,然而香港人生活忙碌,在家居裝修的時候往往忽略了計劃好自己的衣櫃。陳生,你只需要留意以下幾個要點,想擁有一個為個人而設的衣櫃絕對唔係一件難事喇!」

(一)理想的衣櫃大小

一般來說,我們以一直尺 (1LM) =一直米 (3.3Lft) 作為量度衣櫃的單位。標準的衣櫃深度均為 600mm(D) ,而高度則為 2400mm(H)。如果深度少於 600mm(D) 的話,衣櫃就不足以容納一般的衣服深度,衣服便很容易地被門板疊著,留下摺痕(如用趟門的話,需要更加要留意這一點)。另外,超過 600mm(D) 的衣櫃通常是需要加錢的。因此在功能和價錢為大前提的底下,最理想的衣櫃尺寸就是 600mm(D) x 2400mm(H)。

(二)個人衣櫃的計劃

不管多大的衣櫃和衣帽間,終究講求其功能性以配合每個人的衣服習慣,這也是一門藝術。因此一個不完整的衣櫃計劃往往會造成空間浪費,同時你亦會為找尋一件衣服而添上麻煩,情況就如陳太一樣。

(三)個人的衣服類型

在定制個人衣櫃的計劃之前,你可以因應自己現有的衣服類型,數量和大小加以分類來製作多功能的衣櫃組合(抽屜、層板、褲架、短掛衣櫃和長掛衣櫃),方法非常簡單。

飯廳 ------- 餐檯如選購獨腳檯大多不利婚姻、戀愛風情侶,三腳檯不利家庭生活及帶來不好的運程,若放在衰位即加重惡運的到臨。

化解方法:(1)購買餐檯時請選用四腳餐檯。 (2)如購買獨腳、三腳餐檯,便應確定放置在吉方位或放

在屋外之露台、花園等。

五行改運助旺資料

(木) 東方向,青色、綠色,(長方形),植物、園藝、木材、書本、綿料布質、地氈、 窗簾布、畫、咕裖。

(火)南方向,紫色、紅色,(三角形),電子產品、電器、酒、電腦、

電視機、音响、冷氣機、汽車、風扇、暖爐、抽濕機、燈、爐具、電話、塑膠、空氣清新機。

Dining Area - Dining table with single leg prevents harmonious marriages/relationships. Table with 3 legs is also not recommended, it brings bad luck to the family. If placed in a negative energy zone, it doubles its potency.

Remedy: 1) choose a dining table with 4 legs; 2) if choosing a single or 3 legs table, make sure it is placed in a good energy zone or otherwise in the balcony or garden.

The Five Elements promoting well being and prosperity

Wood - To face East, lime green, green, (rectangle) plant, gardening, wood, books, cotton material, carpet, curtain, paintings, cushions.

Fire - To face South, purple, red, (triangle) electronic appliances, wine/alcohol, computer, TV, Hifi, air-conditioner, car, fan, heater, humidifier, lights, kitchenwear, telephone, plastic, air purifier.

Earth - Central district area, brown, yellow, (square) jade, stones, tiles, ceramics.

Metal - To face West, white, metallic (circle), coins, watches, precious metals and containers.

Water - To face North, black, blue, grey (spiral or waves) water fluid, ice cubes, crystals, fish tanks/ponds, swimming pools.

Applying Feng Shui principles improve our well being and harmony to our homes and lives. It teaches us that spaces where we live or work should be thoughtfully disposed, in order to take the best advantage and help us rather than be an obstacle. Therefore, knowing your universe and surroundings, to better receive positive changes from within to synchronize and harmonize areas for maximum benefits.

Feng Shui decorating is basically a simple, economical yet efficient way to decorate a home creating vibrant feeling of joy, well being and harmony.

Entrance - Make the front of house inviting. Good Quality of air is essentialfor good Chi / Feng shui energy in the house. Positive energy enter through the front door, same with negative energy. If air (Chi) flows through the entrance to the windows, it will restrict the flow of abundance to stay within the house - “House of misfortune”

Remedy: 1) install permanent blinds or curtains to block the leakage of energy from entrance to windows. 2) place a divider between front door and windows.

Examples: South Horizons, other estates, offices and commercial buildings.

Entrance - Direction of front entrance affects pets and animals too. If the following principles are being challenged, pets are more likely to get sick and make frequent visits to the veterinary.

1) where entrance opens in SE direction; avoid dogs2) where entrance opens in SW direction; avoid cats3) where entrance opens in the South; avoid rats4) where entrance opens in the West; avoid rabbits

Dining Area - Dining table sometimes serves as reading/working table. Tables in the shape of square, triangle and/or rectangle all have shape corners and that emit negative energies.

Remedy: 1) choose round or oval shaped dining table; 2) to surface/smoothen all shape corners or otherwise use corner protectors.

大門 ------- 門口進入之氣吉則風水吉,如其進入之氣凶則作風水凶位置。如大門直沖往窗門之方向,經窗戶散去,氣散去而不 能聚留室內,此屋是退財屋。

化解方法 : (1)窗戶長期有窗簾布遮擋。 (2)大門與窗之間距離放置一度屏風作阻擋。

真實例證:海怡半島、各大公屋、寫字樓、工廈。

大門 ------- 門口的方位與寵物之忌諱,如沖犯了以下的忌諱,寵物們便很容易生病,屢醫不愈,健康運差。

(1)   大門門口開在東南方向的,不適宜飼養狗類。(2)   大門門口開在西南方向的,不適宜飼養猫類。(3)   大門門口開在正南方向的,不適宜飼養鼠類。(4)   大門門口開在正西方向的,不適宜飼養白兔類。

飯廳 ------- 餐檯除用作吃飯時用,還會用作讀書、看文件等。餐檯形狀有四方形、三角形、長方形,有卓角的餐檯便帶有煞氣,有尖銳之角統稱為角煞。

化解方法:(1)購買餐檯時請選用圓形及隋圓形。 (2)將尖銳之角磨至圓滑或蓋上角套。

Mix and match can be the glue that brings the interiors together harmoniously, partly thanks to the material used for the featured wall coating – hewn stones, giving the area a sense of primitiveness while allowing a visual connection with the black furniture. Raw, yet modern at the same time.

For the dining room, the beige veneer background, the black hairline stainless steel and grey mirror is an interesting composition. This arrangement provides the contemporary edge, yet retains the subdued elegance on the whole.

燈光與物料的配搭, 往往能設計滿品味的時尚效果。

在這個住宅項目中,設計師選用了多種不同的物料,

利用燈光的佈局,配搭出不同層次的獨特場景。

客廳的沙發背部,採用了文化石拼砌而成的特色牆

身與電視雲石牆身,營造出原始的感覺,配上黑色

系列的傢俱,摩登而不俗氣。

飯廳方面,採用杏色木皮,黑色不銹鋼及灰鏡的點

綴,為整個佈局注入型格的元素。睡房方面,色調

調配較為溫和,務求營造出時尚感豐富但溫暖的效

果。

Designed with a sense like home, the apartment truly defines the profile with the earthy flavor. The interior materials are paired with monochromatic palettes – the interplay between textures and colours, bringing a strong yet subtle statement at the living room in contrast to the tone of the multifunctional kitchen and the bar. Everything under the light enjoys a warm and dazzling shower.

New adventures to travelers, the interior elements become part of their lives. In the lobby area, a large crystal chandelier is suspended overhead, playing with lights against the marble floor. With every striking feature demonstrated by the designer furniture, the design theme wholly represents the prestigious palace.
