DreamTeam Cofounders Brian Asingia (@brianasingia) and Franco Abott (@abottf) met at Lafayette College. Asingia, a Ugandan is a former Wall St Analyst at NYSE:ICE. Asingia attended International House NYC and UWC-USA. Franco, a Kenyan- American is a CS and Economics graduate and a former Senior Project Software Engineer at Lutron Electronics. Both won the 2016 ALTIS e4Impact MBA Business Model Competition. DreamGalaxy Team has 8 Advisors globally.

Early School Traction and Pilots

Our initial core customers are parents and teachers of multicultural students in the US and Canada. Once established we will engage parents and educators in Africa’s 1.3B population (KINGS - Kenya, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa) and the Global Diaspora like Brazil, UK, France and China of 250M. K-12/Primary is 2020 Focus and Higher Ed for 2021. We are in 1200 cities and 134 countries to-date with content from 600 member Higher Ed network Association of African Universities (AAU). Business Model DreamGalaxy membership fees are either $5.99 per month for homeschool and $2,400 annually for school with 80% net revenue share for content partners. Learning Activity List:

● Recall & retell – Teachers ask students to remember the events of the story and retell the story using their own words.

● Q& A –Teachers question children for understanding after reading online stories

● Discover the moral value – Through strategic questioning teachers help students discover the moral of the selected DreamGalaxy story. Discuss how it relates to students personal lives.

● Map the plot – Encourages students to practice sequencing skills recalling the events of the story from beginning to end

● Recreate the Ending – Through active retell, teachers ask students to create a new ending for the selected story.

● Art Activity - Students on any grade level can respond to selected DreamGalaxy digital stories through drawing & painting. Students can props, costumes, and even recreate related scenes (The Dutchman and the Snake- Turn your classroom into a jungle & create masks for each character)

● Poster Design for a Cause- Students create posters in response to a specific story. (In “The Tortoise, the Dog, And the Recycling”, students can create recycling posters to help their school communities recycle more efficiently.

● Culturally relevant questions- Teachers can ask students how the story relates to them culturally allowing students to draw on their own personal experiences. (for example: In Mamas Soup, Bino & Fino, teachers can ask students, “What does soup in your country have in it?”) Many digital stories found on DreamGalaxy depict the family unit. Teachers can engage students in discussions about their own family unit & dynamics.

● Write your own folktale- Who are the characters in your story? Where would your story take place? What is the moral value of your story? (see student sample)

The Anansi XR Storybook series is a seven volume set of African folklores remastered as learning tools by Udeesa.

The stories of Anansi are Ghanaian folktales now prevalent throughout the world, where Anansi is considered to be the God of all knowledge & stories.

Together with the use of emerging technologies such as 360-degree photography, virtual reality and augmented reality, Anansi's stories can now be explored and engaged with to expose learners of all ages to a new perspective of the African continent.
