Bayside Intermediate Standardized Dress Code Policy 2017-2018 All clothes must be appropriately sized for the student. Excessively baggy, torn or tattered clothing or clothes that cling to the body will not be permitted. Tops Collared Golf Style Shirts Any solid color No more than two buttons may be unbuttoned at the neckline Sweatshirts, vests, sweaters Any solid color Pullovers only Hoodies may be worn. The hoodies must be Ed Village related, collegiate or a solid color. Hoodies may not be worn on head. Ed. Village Spirit Shirts and College Shirts This includes approved shirts or t-shirts from approved clubs, organizations or teams along with college shirts. Spirit shirts and college shirts can be worn at anytime. Shirttails Any shirttail longer than student’s wrist must be tucked in pants May not reveal the stomach when arms are raised May not be tied in the back Coats/Jackets Must be placed in student’s locker during school hours Full length jackets/coats such as those commonly referred to as “trench” coast or “dusters” are not allowed Jewelry/Hair Wrist bands, leather or spiked jewelry is not permitted Pierced jewelry is limited to ears only No sunglasses No unnatural hair color or distracting hair styles permitted Bandanas, sweatbands, wave caps, hats and caps are not permitted Bottoms Pants/Slacks/Capris School uniform style pants Solid Black, Brown, Khaki or Navy color Pockets must lay flat against the fabric Cotton/twill/chino material only No denim, vinyl, leather or nylon materials, sweatpants, wind pants or spandex Shorts Must meet the same requirement as slacks for color/material May not come shorter than 4 inches from top of knee cap when standing Jumpers, Skirts, Skorts Meet the same requirements as slacks for color/material Bottom of the hem must be no more than 2 inches above the knee Shoes Must be comfortable for walking, no house shoes Enclosed heel or back strap over heel must be present, no flip flops or athletic sandals Heels may not be taller than 2” Socks Solid color only Must be a matching pair Backpacks All backpacks, including draw string backpacks, and tote bags need to be kept in the student’s locker. Jumpers, Skirts, Skorts

• Meet the same requirements as slacks for color/material • Bottom of the hem must be no more than 2 inches above the knee

Shoes • Must be comfortable for walking, no house shoes • Enclosed heel or back strap over heel must be present, no flip flops or athletic sandals • Heels may not be taller than 2”

Socks • Solid color only • Must be a matching pair

Backpacks All backpacks, including draw string backpacks, and tote bags need to be kept in the student’s locker.
