    NEW DRIVERS EDUCATION CURRICULUM

Current driving curriculum is inadequate to provide proper safety drivingtraining and knowledge to participants.

The current driving curriculum only provides theoretical driving knowledgeand basic driving skills without equipping participant on area such asaccident avoidance and driving etiquette.

MIROS had provided feedback to RTD in designing a new drivers

    education curriculum

MIROS proposed that new driving curriculum must educate participants onthree elements:

    i. cognitive

    ii. affective

    iii. psychomotor assessment

    DEFENSIVE DRIVING PROGRAMME

The Defensive Driving Program usually consists of:

    i. Access to online training system

    ii. classroom sessions

    iii. 1 in-car session

Participants will be required to sit for a driving test guided by an instructor

and upon completion, participants will be issued a certificate.

Defensive driving program has been proven to successfully reduce roadaccidents where USA road accident death in 2012 is 10.7 deaths per 100,000populations compared to 23.6 deaths in Malaysia
