DS BL-R

DS BL-R is a sealing ring made from elastomers with dense structure for the DS BL-R plug-in socket, a connection for concrete pipes and reinforced concrete pipes according to DIN EN 1916 and DIN V 1201, whereby the seal is firmly embedded in the socket during manufacture of the pipe.

zz DS BL-R is in accordance with the requirements of DIN EN 681-1 / DIN 4060 [88] (seals made from elastomers) and the FBS quality guideline.

zz DS BL-R pipe connections fulfill the criteria of DIN EN 1916, method 1-4.

zz DS BL-R can be easily connected with the pipe. It is

mounted on the base ring and is anchored during manufacture of the pipe in the pipe socket. After

removal of the base ring the DS BL-R socket is ready for installation.

zz DS BL-R can be used for all pipe production machines with core vibration and radial pressure roller head.

zz DS BL-R requires special base rings, which determine, by their shape, the seat of the seal.

zz DS BL-R can be supplied for pipes DN 150 to DN 2600 in 6 specific cross sections.

zz DS BL-R lines the inner wall of the socket up to the socket face. Lining the entire socket space prevents deposits of dirt and water (ice formation) behind the seal. Removal of a protective strip is not required.

PRODUCTION OF PLUG-IN SOCKET PIPES DS BL-R

zz Mount DS BL-R on the cleaned and lightly oiled base ring. Ensure correct seating and even pre-stretching of the sealing ring.zz Before putting on the ensure that the socket is completely filled with concrete. Then produce concrete pipe in normal manner.zz After removal of the pipe mould, place inner and outer supporting rings on the spigot end and leave them there until concrete has cured.zz Pull base ring centrically, remove supporting rings.zz After the concrete has fully cured, the BL-R plug-in socket pipe is ready for installation.

PIPE LAYING TIPS

The DS BL-R pipe connections can be installed without any problems using normal construction site equipment. When laying the pipes observe DIN EN 1610 and ATV-work sheet DWA-A 139.

zz Clean socket and spigot end.zz Cover thoroughly the spigot end with DS lubricant. The additional smearing of the sealing ring is recommended, as this will help to minimize the mounting forces.zz Move spigot end centrically into socket and pull pipes together.

In case of content of light liquids (oil, petrol, fuels) in the sewage water it is recommended to use seals out of acryl-nitrile-butadie-ne-rubber (NBR), which has a higher resistance against light liquids.

zz The formwork ring can stay in the socket until the pipe is put in place and be removed shortly before installation. Thus dirtying and ice formation in the socket are prevented.

The DS BE socket is a pipe connection for concrete and reinforced concrete pipes, where the seal – a DS GS sealing ring made from elastomers with dense structure – is compressed and glued into a chamber in the socket after producing the pipe.

For the dimensioning of the necessary seal height hj the socket gap width w has to be determined. To achieve this, the outer diameter of the spigot end dsp and the inner diameter of the socket end must be measured on at least ten pipes of a production batch or delivery. The pipes and the diameters are to be selected according to information gained on site in such a way that the maximum and minimum values are recorded. Max w and min w of the socket gap width are then calculated from the measured values as follows:

DS K is used for concrete and reinforced concrete pipes according to DIN EN 1916.

It has a comma-shaped cross-section with the following advantages:

DS BL-S

DS BL-S is a sealing ring made from elastomers with dense structure for concrete and reinforced concrete manhole rings according to DIN EN 1917 and DIN V 4034-1. The seal is firmly embedded in the socket during manufacture of the manhole ring.

zz Mount DS TOPSEAL PLUS on the cleaned and lightly oiled base ring. Ensure correct seating – push the seal down to the 35° slope, so that the sealing lips of the seal and of the sand filled hose are in contact with the base ring. Ensure even pre-stretching of the sealing ring and even fill degree of the sand hose.

zz Clean Socket and spigot end.

zz Mount DS SGSeal ring to spigot end so that the slide mantle faces to the outside the load transfer hose comes to lie in the middle of the spigot end.

zz Place the seal next to the shoulder ensuring an even pre-stretching of the sealing ring. Cover thoroughly the inner surface of the manhole socket and the sealing ring with DS lubricant. The additional use of lubricant on the seal is recommended as this reduces the mounting forces.

DS Lubricant

DS SGseal fulfils the requirements of DIN V 4034-1 on proven static and associated investigations of load capacity.

“Manholes have to be constructed under consideration of DIN EN 1610, ATV-DVWK-A 139 and ATV-DVWK-A 157. Regard to an even and not a bumpy load transfer between all manhole rings always has to be ensured. […] The load transfer layer has to be formed in such a way that a distance between manhole rings on the inner side of the manhole is not higher than 15mm.”

DS BUTYLRUBBER

DS Butyl rubber is a plastic seal for manhole components, small wastewater treatment plants and special profiles such as troughs and covers.

If, due to simple joints, the use of elastomer profiles is not possible tight connections with DS Butyl rubber can be realized.

Due to large amounts of butyl rubber, as well as the excellent adhesiveness, DS Butyl rubber fits to existing geometries, compensates for unevenness of the compo-nents and creates the necessary edge joint.

In order to exclude changes in cross-section, the sealing strip is to be placed without material stretching. The strip must be placed against one another by an inclined joint and the connection can be kneaded gently. The protective film is only to be removed until the component assembly

A modification of the original geometry is to be avoided.

For uniform compression of the sealing strip the components are to be assembled centrally. The compression of the seal should be between 30% and 50%. The band thickness must not be less than 10mm thereby.

zz Before compaction fill the socket with concrete so that the seal is covered evenly by 10 cm. Then produce concrete manhole ring in the usual manner.

zz After removal of the manhole ring mould, place outer supporting ring on the spigot end and press the inner sup-porting ring so that the concrete is pressed against the outer support ring. Leave them there until concrete has cured.

DS IGLU-PROFILE

DS IGLU Profile is a sealing ring made from closed cellular elastomers servings as an inner seal of jacking pipe joints.

zz DS IGLU Profile is in accordance with the requirements of EN 681-3 (seals made from cellular elastomers).

zz DS IGLU Profile is a compression seal.

zz DS IGLU Profile is mounted with a flexible strip to the wood packing and is compressed between the pipe fronts (front seal) when the pipes are installed.

zz DS IGLU Profile requires a butt joint with very tight tolerance. It is only suitable for straight pipe jacking.

zz In the mounted condition wood packing has to be spaced apart from inner pipe wall at least 1.5 × height of profile.

zz Form DS IGLU Profile ring and glue ends together with 2% of upsetting or order as pre-fabricated ring (cut length = (dH – b) × 3.21). Since the profile is used as a seal the ring ends must be cut and glued carefully (e.g. DS special adhesive), if the ring is formed by the concrete factory or at the construction site.

zz Place DS IGLU Profile into the wood packing ring, distribute pre-compression and fix it to the wood packing with clamps. The strap has to be arranged into a recess on the socket side of the wood packing.

zz For joint widths larger or smaller than those stated below (see table, columns 3 and 4), IGLU Profile must be removed at the end of pipe jacking and replaced by a thicker or thinner FERMADUR-Profile, in order to ensure a tight seal.

DS BLOCK Profile is a sealing ring made from elastomers with closed cellular structure for the sealing of water infiltration between steel collar rings. At the same time it supports and secures the position of the main seal against bentonite and external pressure exerted by water and protects the steel collar against aggressive substances within the pipe.

zz As the profile is a seal, the butt joint of the ring must be carefully cut and glued (e.g. with Sicomet 8000), if the seal is installed in the concrete factory or at the construction site.

1. Fasten DS BLOCK Profile as a cord underneath the steel collar ring with DS contact adhesive. Finally cut and glue joint carefully.

2. Prepare BLOCK Profile ring (cut length = dST – a) x π, tolerance ± 0.5%) and fasten to wood packing with thin nails. When nailed the BLOCK Profile must neither be compressed nor stretched.

3. Prepare DS BLOCK Profile ring with 4% upsetting (cut length = (dST – a) π / 0.97, tolerance ± 0.5%) and fasten underneath steel collar with DS special adhesive.

DS NVD - ADJUSTABLE SEAL FOR PIPE JACKING

DS NVD is an adjustable seal, developed for intermediate jacking stations. It is made from elastomers with dense structure in accordance with the requirements of DIN EN 681-1.

zz Adjustable seals are used in the pipe jacking process. The sealing profile is mounted into a U-shaped steel construction at the end of the following pipe in such a way that it is compressed radially against the cylindrical mantle pipe by 10-12%. From the inside of the pipe the deformation of the sealing profile can be adjusted through bolts, which are moving pressure plates within the U-shaped steel construction, thus the sealing capacity can be adjusted to the requirements.

INSTALLATION TIPSCROSS SECTION OF THE SEAL

REQUIREMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING PIPE

The sealing profile has a width of 65 mm and a height of 40 mm. Both bulge shaped ribs with holes in the top part face the mantle pipe when being installed.

The steel construction for the seating of the seal has to be anchored securely to the concrete of the following pipe and has to be connected water tight. To hinder a leakage path under the steel construction special measurements are possibly necessary.The groove and the slide area of the mantle pipe have to be smooth and clean so that the seal cannot be damaged. To minimize the abrasion it is highly recommended to have a lubrication during pipe jacking. Therefore an injection opening for a bentonite suspension in direct proximity of the seal has to be arranged.

The sealing profile is mounted to the spigot end of the fol-lower pipe having a pre-tension of around 8% and is placed into the steel groove. The bulges face the exterior side. With screws pressure plates are securely pressed all round against the sealing profile.For the mounting of intermediate jacking stations lubricant is applied to the whole slide area of the mantle pipe

DS PDK - CHECKABLE DOUBLE WEDGE

DS PDK is an immediately checkable double wedge slide seal made from elastomers with dense structure for the permanent sealing of concrete pipes and reinforced concrete pipes and socket box culverts.

Water infill equipment with a stopcock has to be connected to the isolation valve.

A manometer with stopcock has to be mounted to the valve. The stopcock must be open.

Fill water via the lower valve in until flowing water comes out of the upper valve without air bubbles (no air is allowed to come anymore).

Now close the upper stopcock, increase the internal pressure by continuing the water inflow and hold the pressure for 15 minutes. In case of only minimal pressure drop the nominal test pressure has to be achieved again via additional water inflow.

DS LK2L double wedge slide seal made from elastomers with dense structure for the permanent sealing of concrete pipes and reinforced concrete socket pipes and socket box culverts.

DS KRP - GROOVE-ROUND-PROFILE

DS KRP is a front seal for pipe systems which are counter tensed. It is used especially with concrete or reinforced concrete pipes with non-rotational symmetric cross sections as for example rectangular culverts, ovoid pipes or arch pipes and with constructions out of slabs.

zz For economic and secure laying of pipes with non rotati-onal symmetric cross section it is recommended to use a concrete sole or concrete beams.zz The pipes have to be pulled together with puller hoists or bracing equipment.zz As an outer protection of the joint and of the seal, the joint can be covered from the outside by a fleece or protecting foil.

A good parallelism of the fronts can be ensured by filling the form with concrete fine leveled and carefully compacted. Tolerance of parallelism is maximum 4 mm for the use of DS KRP 30 and maximum 10 mm for the use of DS KRP 55.

When using DS KRP 30 enough spacers out of soft wood should be placed over the whole circumference.

To ensure the compression of the sealing ring appropriate measures have to be taken (for example enough turnbuckles)

DS SOCKET RING 55/70

DS socket ring 55/70 is an integrated sealing element out of elastomer with dense structure according to be used in concrete manholes for the tight connection of spigot ends from stoneware pipes with socket K type according to DIN EN 295-1, connection system C.

zz DS socket ring 55/70 is tightly embedded into the manhole base wall. For this a number of socket formers are necessary, which can be taken off after curing of the concrete.

zz DS socket ring 55/70 can be delivered in all diameters from DN 200 to DN 800 for stoneware pipes of normal and high load series, e.g. stoneware pipes CeraDyn, CeraLong and CeraCare.

zz DS socket ring 55/70 is available in two dimensions: - with 55 mm width for DN 200 to DN 500 - with 70 mm width for DN 600 and higher, but also useable for smaller diameters with corresponding socket formers.

DS LKs is a seal with bored holes for the connection of pipes made out of different materials (e.g. PVC, PE, cast iron, fiber reinforced cement, concrete, stoneware) in manhole components or pipes made out of concrete or reinforced concrete.

zz Adapters or connecting pieces cut to size at the const-ruction site must be trimmed along the cutting edges to a quality at least equaling the quality of the original pipe spigot, i.e. the cut edges must be adequately beveled to avoid assembly problems and impairment of the seal. This applies to both the original and the combination socket system

zz Depending on the type of pipe, DS GRS 17 to GRS 36 are pressed into the sockets of the manholes base units to provide sealing.

zz Prior to assembly the sealing ring in the socket and the spigot of the pipe to be connected have to be lubricated with DS lubricant.

DS PIPE CONNECTOR DN150 / DN200

To fulfill the extremely high requirements for the connec-tion into pipelines made out of concrete or reinforced concrete as well as clay pipes, a long lasting and secure introduction of industrial or communal sewage water has to be guaranteed. These high requirements can only be fulfilled by a connecting piece which – besides its basic functional properties – primarily is easy and uncomplicated to assemble on site.

With the successfully tested and attested DS Pipe Connec-tor there is a product available to the market, which fulfils highest requirements to all necessary criteria completely. Denso Pipe Connector corresponds to DIN V 1825-1 for the connecting piece material polypropylene as well as to DIN EN 681-1 for the elastomer seals. Properties of the materials and functions were type tested by MPA NRW and are subject to continual production checks and third party quality monitoring.

Drill a circular hole with a diamond drill bit at right angles and centrically to the concrete pipe axis.

We can inform you about the drill bits! Remove core and clean bored surface of dirt/dust.

Wet the whole bored surface, if dry, with a good amount of water. Allow the water to be absorbed by the bored surface, until all water drops are gone. *)

Stir DS GV – a sliding and anchoring coating – shortly in its tin with the included brush, then apply it thickly on the rubber sleeve and rub it into the bored concrete surface as well.

Press the pipe connector centrically – with its mark in axial direction of the pipe – into the bored hole until the stop is achieved. Centrical insertion is important, in order to compress the first rubber rib evenly and to avoid it turning over. Before the mounting of the connection pipe DS GV has to be applied on the sealing ring in the socket of the connector and on the pipe spigot end. In case of a cut pipe its end has to be beveled before.

The connector is adjusted to the pipe wall thickness and the outer diameter of the concrete pipe or clay pipe in the factory by using distance rings and a curved ring.Thereby the connec-tor sits on the main pipe and does not project into the pipe. For the pipes made out of clay, ET or KG, to be connected to the main pipe, a stop exists. On building projects with unknown pipe diameters and wall thickness it is possible to deliver basic connectors to the site, which can be adjusted to the existing main pipe with a few manipulations.The relevant area of sealing got laid into the thickness of the pipe wall of the main pipe, to avoid problems caused by spallings when bored and also to guarantee a sealing of the steel reinforcement according to DIN 1045 requirement on concrete covers.

1) The size of the DS PP Profile depends on the dimensions and the design of the socket and the pipe diameter DN. In some cases, the sealing function of the main seal has to be shown for the maximum press joint.

2) Changes of the press joint width due to unparallelism plus mounting have to be less or equal to the tolerances stated. A sufficient deformation of the PP Profile of ≥ 20% is necessary even if the profile in the joint does not have a sealing function

3) The reaction loads of DS PP Profile have to be accommo-dated during the laying of the pipes. Suitable measures have to be taken.

zz All parts to be handled must be clean, dry and free of grease.

zz Apply DS contact adhesive to the socket face and let it dry slightly.

zz Apply DS contact adhesive to the flat side of the profile coil and let it dry slightly.

zz In the socket face a groove for the acceptance of the profile foot is necessary. Normally the groove is casted from tar-free polyurethane (PUR) to the PVC inliner (groove dimensions see drawing).

zz Unparallelism of pipe fronts has to be very small. It should be maximum half as big as the allowed joint width toleran-ce.

For the mounting of the DS BKU Profile it is good enough just to stick the profile foot into the groove.In the case of pre-mounting in the factory, it is recommended to use DS contact adhesive to glue it to the pipe.

DS Lubricant has been developed specially for DS slide seal rings used with pipes and manhole components made of concrete.

MOVING OF MANHOLE COMPONENTS

IMPORTANT NOTE ON THE USE

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MOVING OF MANHOLES

According to DIN EN 1610 the pipe and manhole section manufacturer must also supply the necessary lubricant which has to be compatible with the component and the sealing system.

DS Lubricant is the result of many years of research and practical experience. Through a special composition DS Lubricant is exactly designed to the requirements of the laying of pipes made of concrete or reinforced concrete. Besides the advantage of optimal sliding procedure, DS Lubricant is biological degradable.

As required in DIN EN 681-1 under point 4.1.1 it has no negative effect on the life of the seal.Please understand that we will only guarantee for our seal material if the seals are used with DS lubricant.

FBS quality is only guaranteed by a lubricant approved by the seal manufacturer.

zz Apply DS lubricant thoroughly to the inner area of the manhole socket (slide seal ring DS SG) or to the spigot end (integrated seal DS BS 2000) – preferably using a glove.

OUR RECOMMENDATION

REQUIREMENTS

NOTE

Seals made of elastomers increase their hardness at cold temperatures. According to DIN 4060 [88] the hardness of the sealing compound must not increase by more than 10 IRHD units at -10°C.

For integrated seals such as DS BL and Ankerplus with 50 + 5 IRHD that cannot be made the right temperature, hardness up to 65 IRHD is still allowed. Such a hardness of integrated seals causes an increasing number of faults on laying pipes (e.g. non-concentric assembly of the pipes, jamming during installation etc.)

In addition ice can form on the spigot end and seal, the existence of which cannot be proved in case of complaints.

Do not lay pipes with integrated seals below -5°C.

Clean, proper pipe installation and use of the included DS lubricants.

Loose seals that were stored at room temperature can be used at temperatures down to -15°C when using DS lubricant.

The level of assembly force for pipes with DS BL and ANKERPLUS seals depends on different factors such as:

zz Temperature during installation (hardness of rubber increases with cold temperatures)

zz Surface condition of the spigot ends (rough spigot ends cause higher friction to the rubber)

zz Deformation of the seal (most important factor: with increasing deformation the necessary assembly force increases)

zz Kind and amount of the lubricant (with rougher spigot end more lubricant is needed. With higher degree of deformation more lubricant with better shear resistance is necessary)

zz Method of pipe laying (if the pipe is put down on the floor and pulled or pushed during assembly, the frictional resistance of the pipe on the floor increases the assembly force required).

INSSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF DS LUBRICANTFOR PIPES OR MANHOLES

REASON

This is to inform you that we can only ensure safety for the installation capability of our slip seals and thus safety for the function of the seals if DS lubricant is used for the installation of the pipes and the manholes respectively.

Our lubricant is compatible with our sealing material, its consistency being suited to the “rough” concrete surfaces and functional areas of the slip ring seals. It can be used at temperatures of -10° C up to +40°C as well as for wet spigot ends and sockets.

If our lubricant is sufficiently applied with a glove in the right place (see product information), perfect deformation of the seal and thus its ability to work will be ensured. Diluting the lubricant for easy working is not allowed because of the change of gliding characteristics and adhesive strength.

DESTROYED SEALS

DESTROYED SEALS

Unfortunately there are lots of complaints concerning pipe connections and their assembly caused by combi-nation of wrong components. There is a high probability that wrong and inappropriate lubricants are applied to the seals and surfaces of the material. The pipe connection itself is a self-contained system and of great importance to the pipe line and this should be taken into consideration. Using lubricants that were not subject to our tests may change this system and cause the loss of decisive properties. For this reason, DS Dichtungstechnik GmbH would like to inform you of a few important developments:

To achieve a tight pipe connection not only the appro-priate joint and seal are necessary. The appropriate aids for the assembly are also of great importance. At present lubricants with a high proportion of hydrocarbon combinations are on the market. These hydrocarbon combinations cause considerable swelling of the seal and are not biodegradable and are harmful to the environment. On the basis of the enormous increase in volume by almost 50% the seal is destroyed. The decisive physical specifications of the compression of elastomers such as shore-hardness, tensile strength and ultimate elongation are partially reduced by more than half (see MPA NRW certificate!).

The pipe or manhole connection will be destroyed in 14 days at the latest if a lubricant with a high proportion of hydrocarbon combinations is used. A seal damaged in this way will not meet under any circumstances the requirements to be kept of DIN EN 681-1 for seals made of elastomers and the specifications of DIN EN 1916 with regard to the durability of a pipe connection.

The destroyed seal cannot ensure sealing at all. The canal system will leak as a result of that. The pipes have to be cleaned up or new pipes laid.

The lubricant developed and offered by DS Dichtungs-technik is the result of many years of research and experience in practice. Due to a special combination the DS lubricant meets exactly the requirements of laying concrete and reinforced concrete pipes. In addition to the advantage of optimal slipping during the installation, the lubricant is biodegradable. As required in DIN EN 681-1 point 4.1.1., it has no influence on the durability of the seal.

Please understand that we will only guarantee for our seal material if the seals are used with DS lubricant.

compensation claim shall be limited to 10% of the value of that part of the delivery which owing to this impossibility cannot be put into its intended operation. This limitation shall not apply in cases involving intent, gross negligence or physical damages, where liability is obligatory, and it shall not give rise to any shift of the burden of proof to the disadvantage of the customer either. The customer´s rights to withdraw from the contract remain unaffected.5.3 Subject to the aforementioned preconditions, the customer shall be entitled to claim 0.5% of the price of those parts of deliveries which could not be put into operation owing to the default for every full week that the default lasts, but limited to a maximum of 5% of the price, provided that the customer is able to substantiate by prima facie evidence that this default caused damage to him, should DS be in default with regard to deliveries or services. 5.4 Any right to claim damages owing to delays in performances beyond the scope indicated under subclause 5.3 on the part of the customer shall also be excluded once the delivery deadlines that DS might have stated, if any, have been exceeded. This limitation shall not apply in cases involving intent, gross negligence or physical damages, where liability is obligatory. Nevertheless, they shall not give rise to any shift of the burden of proof to the disadvantage of the customer. Nevertheless, the customer shall only be able to withdraw from the contract provided that DS can be held responsible for the delay in deliveries or in the provision of services in accordance with subclause 5.1. In all other respects, the customer´s statutory right to withdraw from the contract shall remain unaffected. 5.5 If DS so requires, the customer shall be obliged to declare within a reasonable period of time whether he wishes to withdraw from the contract owing to the delay in a delivery or service and/or to claim compensation in lieu of the aforesaid performance or insists on the delivery.5.6 The stipulations of the product liability act shall apply without any limitations.

6. - Reservation of title6.1 The goods shall remain the property of DS until all receivables resulting from the business relation, including any inciden-tal claims, claims for damages and redemptions of checks and bills of exchange, have been paid. 6.2 The reservation of title shall continue to be valid even if individual receivables shall be integrated into a current invoice by DS and if the balance has been struck and recognized.6.3 The customer´s powers to to sell goods subject to the retention of title clause in regular business transactions shall end with a revocation on the part of DS based on a persistent deterioration of the customer´s financial situation, but no later with than at the time when the customer cessation of payments or insolvency application or commencement of insolvency proceedings with reference to his assets respectively.6.4 Herewith the customer shall assign the receivables including any accessory rights arising from the resale of the goods subject to the retention of title clause – including any potential balance claim – to DS. In the event that the customer sold the claims within the framework of genuine factoring, the account receivable shall be due from DS immediately, and the customer shall assign the superseding account receivable against the factor to DS and shall transfer the proceeds of the sale to DS immediately. DS shall accept this assignment.6.5 The customer shall have the authority to collect the assigned receivables as long as he fulfills his payment obligations. This direct debit authorization shall become extinct if it is revoked, and in the event of a delay in payment on the part of the customer at the latest or in the event of any material deterioration of the customer´s financial situation. In this case, DS shall be entitled to threaten the customer to collect the debts himself or have them collected via a third party as a representative agent. After deadlines, DS shall be deemed authorized by the customer to advise his purchasers on the assignment and to col-lect the claims himself. The customer shall be obliged to provide DS with a detailed list of receivables owed to DS, including the name and address of purchasers, the amount of the individual claims, the date of invoice etc. if DS requests him to do so, and to provide DS with any information required in order to claim the assigned receivables and to allow the validation of this information.6.6 Should the value of the existing security for DS therefore exceed their claim by more than 10% all in all, DS shall be obliged to release securities at DS´s option if the customer or a third party impaired by the excessive collateral of DS require them to do so.6.7 Pledging the goods subject to the retention of title clause or assigned claims respectively or passing title within the framework of cession by security shall not be allowed. DS shall be notified of any levies of execution immediately indicating the name of the pledgee. 6.8 Should the customer fail to fulfill his payment obligations or should he violate other contractual duties, DS shall be entitled to withdraw from the contract if fixing a final date remains without results. In the event that DS decides to exercise its right to withdraw from the contract, DS shall be entitled to obtain satisfaction through private sale of the goods subject to retention of title clause which had been taken back.6.9 The customer shall hold the goods subject to retention of title clause for DS in custody free of charge. He shall be required to obtain insurance cover against common risks, such as fire, theft and water to a degree which reflects common practice. Herewith the customer shall assign his damage claims arising from damages of the type indicated above against insurance companies or other parties obliged to indemnify the customer to DS. The amount shall reflect the invoice amount for the invoiced amount for the goods. DS shall accept the assignment.6.10 Any claims as well as rights from reservation of title with regard to any special forms defined in these terms shall remain valid until full indemnity against any contingent liabilities which DS might have incurred in the customer´s interest has been achieved. 6.11 Any customer’s payments to purchasing associations, central claims settling agencies and similar institutions shall not cause any performance of the contract and shall not have any impact on the reservation of title; instead, it is the actual receipt of payment by DS. The previously mentioned institutions shall not count as “third parties” within the meaning of § 362 clause 2 of the German Civil Code.6.12 Any processing or reorganization shall always take place for DS as the manufacturer. In the event that the DS property ceases to exist following a mixture or intermixture of goods, the understanding shall be that the customer´s proportionate share in ownership of the integrative asset shall be passed to DS (calculated on the basis of the invoice value).

7. - Terms of payment7.1 All invoice amounts shall be net ex works plus sales tax and shall be payable within 30 days from the invoice date. Whatever the circumstances, the customer shall be deemed in default of payment if he fails to effect payment within 30 days from the receipt of payment at the latest, without necessitating any separate reminder. For all invoices, settlement of payment by bill of exchange excluded, the customer shall be granted a 2% cash discount provided that payment is settled within two weeks following receipt of invoice, and for any other payment without any deduction in any other case, unless other agreements have been made in writing previously. The receipt of payment at DS shall constitute the date of payment. Cheques, bills of exchange and bank transfer shall only count as payment once they have been claimed, honored or credited to the account of DS. Any discount charges and costs of bills of exchange involved in settlement of payments by bills of exchange as well as any potential additional charges shall be on the customer´s account. Should the bank refuse to discount bills of exchange accepted by DS, DS shall be entitled to claim immediate cash payment.7.2 Should the customer default in respecting the time allowed for payment indicated under subclause 7.1., interst in the amount of 8% above the base rate according to § 247 BGB (German Civil Code) shall accrue. Nothing in this provision shall affect the right to claim additional damages due to delay. 7.3 Withholding of payments owing to counterclaims of the customer or setting off of payments against counterclaims on the part of the customer shall only be permitted if these counterclaims are undisputed as well as final and conclusive. 7.4 With the exception of pecuniary claims, the customer shall not be entitled to assign or transfer any rights and obligations resulting from these sales terms or from the contracts covered by them without the previous written approval of DS.7.5 Should DS be notified of any deterioration of the customer´s financial situation or learn that the customer breaches the contract in any other respect, DS shall be entitled to perform any outstanding deliveries and services against advance payment or provision of security only.

8. - Storing of data8.1 The customer acknowledges that DS shall store date from the contractual relation for the purpose of date processing. To the degree necessary e.g. within the framework of the business relation with the customer, such as in connection with invoicing, DS shall be authorized to transmit the required customer data to third parties. The customer consents to the transmission of his personal data to third parties.

9. - Final provisions9.1 The place of jurisdiction for any legal dispute between DS and the customer shall be in Münster. DS shall be entitled to take legal proceedings against the customer at the customer´s place of general jurisdiction. 9.2 The place of performance for all rights and obligations on the part of DS and the customer under the present sales terms or under the contract covered by them shall be respective DS company seat. This provision shall also apply to subsequent performance in particular. 9.3 The legal relations between DS and the customer shall exclusively be governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. The United Nation´s Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) dated April 11, 1980, shall not be applicable.9.4 If the whole or any part of any clause(s) of these sales terms is invalid, that validity shall not affect the validity of the rest or the other provisions respectively.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SALE1. - Scope1.1 All quotations, sales, deliveries and services on the part of DS Dichtungstechnik GmbH, Lise-Meitner-Straße 1, D-48301 Nottuln (hereinafter: “DS”) shall be based solely on the following General Conditions of Sale (hereinafter: “Terms of Sale”). The customer’s own general terms or conditions of trade in accordance with §§ 305 ff BGB (German Civil Code) are herewith explicitly objected to for the purposes of this contract.1.2 The following terms of sale shall be a constituent part of all contracts concluded with the customer by DS, the seller, with regard to DS deliveries and services. They shall be deemed accepted by the customer along with any placing of order or acceptance of delivery. They shall not apply in the context of a relationship to consumers as provided for under § 13 BGB (German Civil Code).1.3 For any construction work performed by DS on a payment basis, the latest version of the standard building contract terms (VOB) part B shall be the basis of the contract. This contract may only be modified by written agreement.

2. - Quotation, acceptance, conclusion of contract2.1 The Ds quotations shall be subject to change and non binding.2.2 DS shall be able to accept customer orders within a time period of 30 days. Pursuant to this stipulation, the customer shall grant DS a 30-day acceptance period for every single future order. Any order shall be deemed accepted following written confirmation or invoicing by DS. Deliveries and invoices shall at the same time be regarded as acknowledgement of the respective orders.2.3 Any orders without any explicit fixed price agreements shall be charged at the list prices valid on the delivery date. Provi-ded that delivery is scheduled to be carried out within four months of the conclusion of the agreement, the prices applicable at the time when the agreement is made shall remain valid.2.4 All statements made by DS on the subject of the delivery or service in catalogues, price lists, and other sales literature etc. (such as weight, dimensions, tolerances) as well as all images, descriptions, graphs and illustrations only exist for the purpose of providing descriptions and are only intended to provide a general idea of the goods described there. They do not contain any statements, representations or other warranties and shall not become parts of the contract. Any deviations or modifica-tions which are customary in trade and are the result of legal requirements or technical improvements are permitted inasmuch as they do not impair the usefulness of the goods for the intended purpose stipulated by the contract.

3. - Delivery, shipment, passing of risk 3.1 As a matter of principle, all deliveries shall be carried out “ex-works” or “ex-warehouse” DS, unless previously agreed otherwise in writing. Any delivery periods and deadlines are deemed to approximate unless they have been firmly agreed upon in writing. The delivery dates always refer to the time when the goods are delivered to the forwarding agent or carrier. DS shall be entitled to withhold any outstanding deliveries if the customer fails to fulfill his financial obligations or if there is reasonable concern that he is unable to meet his payments.3.2 Should the customer default in payment, DS reserves itself the right to perform any additional deliveries and services only against cash in advance or C.O.D.3.3 Partial deliveries shall be permitted provided that they can be deemed acceptable for the customer. Every partial delivery shall be regarded as independent business transaction.3.4 Reasonable advance deliveries as well as increased deliveries or short shipments to the degree which is customary in trade shall also be deemed permissible.3.5 Following any delayed delivery of primary products by DS suppliers, the delivery deadline towards the customer shall be extended accordingly. 3.6 DS shall be entitled to withdraw from the contract in the event of any impediment to the contractual performance which is more than temporary and which DS is not responsible for and which renders the performance of the contract significantly more difficult or even impossible, particularly if is due to force majeure (such as wars, riots, strikes, lock-outs, government acts).3.7 Inasmuch as impediments within the meaning of subclause 3.6 give rise to a material change of the economic significance or the content of the delivery or have a material impact on DS operations, the agreement shall modified as appropriate according to the principles of good faith. In the event that this measure is not reasonable from an economic viewpoint, the customer shall be entitled to withdraw from the contract. If the customer wants to make use of his right to withdraw from the contract, he shall be required to advise DS accordingly without any delay as soon as he has become aware of the consequences of the event. 3.8 The mode of dispatch and packaging shall be at the discretion of DS. For standard packaging, DS shall be entitled to round the ordered quantities up to the next highest packaging unit. 3.9 The risk shall pass to the customer along with the surrender of the delivery subject to the forwarding agent or carrier. This principle also applies to partial deliveries. Should the shipment or surrender of these goods be delayed owing the circumstances beyond the responsibility of the customer, the risk shall pass to the customer on the day when the goods are ready for shipment.3.10 The customer shall be obliged to inspect the goods for damages and freedom from defects immediately after they have been received. DS shall be notified in writing of any defects or incorrect / incomplete deliveries within 7 days following the receipt of the goods at the least, since otherwise the goods shall be deemed approved. Damages in transit and apparent faults must be reported to the forwarding agent or carrier in charge and to DS immediately, otherwise the customer shall be held liable if the forwarding agent or carrier respectively cannot be held liable owing to the omitted notification.

4. - Warranty for defects 4.1 All parts, deliveries or services shall be supplied to DS in a new condition or rendered to them new respectively, and any defects must be remedied twice a year free of charge (subsequent performance) if they show a defect during the statuary period of limitation the cause of which already existed at the time of the passing of the risk.4.2 As a matter of principle, DS shall first be granted an opportunity for subsequent performance within a reasonable time period within the meaning of subclause 4.1.4.3 Should subsequent performance fail, it shall be at the discretion of the customer to either withdraw from the contract or to reduce the purchase price without prejudice to any other damage claims. 4.4 The customer shall not be entitled to claim defects in the event of an immaterial non-conformance with the agreed nature of the deliveries or services as well as for any immaterial impairment of their usefulness for natural wear and tear or for damages which occurred after the passing of the risk owing to incorrect or negligent handling, undue stress or use, improper storage or installation, failure to comply with installation and treatment regulations or operating manuals, lack of maintenance or care, inappropriate operating supplies, inadequate construction works, inappropriate building plots or owing to any other particular external influences not anticipated by the contract. 4.5 Any improper and/or unauthorized modifications on the goods or for any improper and/or unauthorized repairs carried out by the customer or by a third party shall not justify any claims in the framework of warranties for defects both for these modifications and the resulting consequences, unless the customer manages to prove that these improper modifications or repairs did not cause the defect. In particular, there shall be no entitlement to claim warranty for defects if either the customer or a third party installed spare parts or accessories from a different origin and if the defects has been caused by the modificati-on or installation of these parts or accessories.4.6 Any claims on the part of the customer with regard to any expenses necessary for the purpose of subsequent perfor-mance, in particular costs for transportation, infrastructure, labor and material costs, shall also be excluded although these expenditures might be higher since the delivery item was transferred to a different location than the customer´s place business subsequently.4.7 Any statutory claims of the customer against DS under a right of recourse shall only exist to the degree that the customer has not made any agreements with his purchaser which go beyond the statuary right to make claims related to warranty for defects.4.8 The amount of the compensation to be effected according to subclause 4.7 is limited to the cost reimbursement price (e.g. transportation and material costs) incurred by the customer; it does not include his profit margin towards his purchaser. 4.9 Any additional claims of the customer against DS and persons employed by DS in performing an obligation for whom DS, being the principal, is vicariously liable (Erfüllungsgehilfen) for defects shall be excluded subject to the settlement under subclause 5 of these terms of sale.4.10 Any claims with regard to warranty for defects from §§ 438 clause 1 no. 2, 479 clause 1 and 634a clause 1 Nr. 2 BGB (German Civil Code) shall become statute-barred after one year from the delivery date. 4.11 Any claims with regard to warranty for defects from §§ 438 clause 1 no. 2, 479 clause 1 and 634a clause 1 BGB(German Civil Code) shall become statute-barred after two years from the delivery date.4.12 Any claims with regard to damages resulting from a breach of secondary obligations within the framework of the sales contract which do not consist in defects of the goods shall also become statute-barred one year from delivery.

5. - Liability5.1 Any customer claims for damages, no matter for what legal cause, shall be excluded, with the exception of cases of damages caused with intent or by acts of gross negligence or involving harm to a person´s life, body or health or in breach of a warranty under § 444 BGB (German Civil Code), or damages arising from an inability to comply with or a breach of material contractual obligations. Compensation for breaches of material contractual obligations, however, shall be limited to contract-typical, predictable damage, provided that intent or gross negligence or liability for harming a person´s life, body or health are not involved. The aforementioned regulations shall not be considered to give rise to a shifting of the burden of proof to the disadvantage of the customer. 5.2 Inasmuch as the customer is therefore entitled to claim compensation for damages in connection with the impossibility to fulfil his obligations related to deliveries and services owing to factors which DS can be held responsible for, the customer´s
