    Inthisconfiguration,boththeswitchinbay7andtheswitchinbay9areconnectedtotheextensionmoduleinbay5.SeeFigure2fortheconnections.Thisconfigurationresultsin20Gbpslinksbetweeneachswitchandtheextensionmodule.Twoexternalportsofeachswitchmodule(4total)aredisabled(ports1and2inbay7,andports9and10inbay9)andthosecircuitsarereroutedtotheextensionmodule.Althoughtheextensionmoduleisnolongerredundant,itstillofferstheadvantagesoftwopathsfromtheadaptertotheswitchandextensionmodule.Unlikeconfiguration1,thisconfigurationallowstheuseoftheCIOvslotinthebladeservers(forexample,forSASconnectivity)toconnecttoI/Omodulesinstalledinbays3and4ofthechassis.Totalavailableexternalports:16Ethernet,6FibreChannel.
