PurposeUse this procedure to create a master recipe.

TriggerPerform this procedure when you need to create a master recipe.

PrerequisitesNone

Menu PathUse the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:

Select Logistics Production - Process Master Data Master Recipes Recipe and Material List Create to go to the Create Master Recipe: Initial Screen.

Procedure

1. Start the transaction using the menu path Logistics Production - Process Master Data Master Recipes Recipe and Material List Create or transaction code C201.

Create Master Recipe: Initial Screen

2. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field Name R/O/C Description

Material R Any item/product/SKU that exists in SAP. Materials are created, purchased, ordered, received, moved within and between plants and sold.Example: D12340732

Plant R A physical definition of a group of manufacturing processes.Example: 0421

Profile R Records default values in the master record that describes objects characteristics. Can contain several sub-profiles.Example: PI01

3. Click to go to the Create Master Recipe: Recipe screen.

The system displays the message, “Recipe group is automatically reassigned when you save.”

4. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Recipe R Master recipe used in the process.Example: 1

Recipe description R Description of the Recipe.Example: PPD COSMETIC GRD FLK 100KG/51GAL

PE DR*

Status R Used to identify the completion status of an event. Used to determine the allowed business transactions.Example: 4

Usage R Code identifying the area in which the task list will be used.Example: 1

From R Beginning value to be entered when specifying a range.Example: 1

to R Upper limit of the range to be selected from a list.Example: 99,999,999.000

5. Click to validate your entries and to go to the Change Master Recipe: Recipe screen.

6. As required, complete/review the following fields for Operation 0100:

Resource R Means of production and persons involved in a production process that have capacities assigned to them.Example: ARAPACK

7. Click to validate your entries.

8. Click to select the Phase indicator for Operation 0200.

9. As required, complete/review the following fields for Operation 0200:

Superior operation R Key of the operation to which the phase is subordinated.Example: 0100

Destinatn. R Process control system or operating group to which a control recipe is transferred for processing.

The control recipe destination specifies:

- The technical address to which a control recipe is transferred

- How the transfer takes place (for example, initiated by R/3 or by process control).Example: 01

Resource R Means of production and persons involved in a production process that have capacities assigned to them.Example: ARAPACK

Base qty. R Quantity of the material to be produced to which the standard values of the operation refer.Example: 1.125

10. Click to go to the Information window.

11. Click to acknowledge the informational message and to go to the Create Master Recipe: Operation screen.

14. As required, complete/review the following field for Operation 0200:

Field Name R/O/C Description

1st std.value R A standard value is a planned value for the execution of an operation. It can be estimated or calculated using the CAPP standard value calculation.

Standard values are used in costing, scheduling and capacity planning to calculate costs, execution times and capacity requirements.

Production version R Key that determines the various production techniques according to which a material can be manufactured.Example: 1

Alternative BOM R Control for selection of the alternative bill of material when requirements are exploded in material planning. Identifies a different set of acceptable components that will be used for the creation of end item.Example: 1

BOM Usage R Bill of material usage. Code that identifies how the BOM is to be used. For example: sales BOMs, equipment BOMs, engineering BOMs, manufacturing BOMs, and costing BOMs.Example: 1

20. Click to return to the Create Master Recipe: Recipe screen.

The system displays the materials assigned to the master recipe.

22. Click to go to the Change material BOM: General Item Overview screen.

23. As required, complete/review the following fields in the next Item available:

Field Name R/O/C Description

Ict R Item category. Categorization of the items in a BOM according to set criteria, such as whether they refer to an object (for example, material master or document info record) or whether they are kept in stock.

Component R Material number of the components that you enter, change or display as part of the BOM.

Quantity R Quantity of the component, which is entered in relation to the base quantity of the product.

Un R The unit for the component quantity.

24. Click to validate your entries.

Repeat Steps 23 & 24 as needed to enter the materials required.

25. Click to return to the Create Master Recipe: Recipe screen.

26. Click to save the master recipe.

The system displays the message, “Recipe was saved with group XXXX and material XXXX.”
