CoolingFood storage

The fridge compartment is for the short-termstorage of fresh food and drinks.

Store milk products in the intendedcompartment in the refrigerator.

Bottles can be stored in the bottle holder orin the bottle shelf of the door.

Raw meat is best kept in a polyethylene bagin the compartment at the very bottom of therefrigerator.

Allow hot foods and beverages to cool to roomtemperature prior to placing them in therefrigerator.

AttentionStore concentrated alcohol only standingupright and tightly closed.

AttentionDo not store explosive substances orcontainers with flammable propellant gases(canned cream, spray cans etc.) in the device. There is a danger of explosion.

Defrosting of the device

The fridge compartment defrosts automatically. The thawing water flows through the drainchannel into a collection container at the rearof the device (Fig. 4).During defrosting, water droplets form at theback of the fridge due to the evaporator. If not all of the drops run down, they mayfreeze again after defrosting remove themwith a cloth soaked in warm water, but neverwith a hard or sharp object.

Check the flow of the thawed water from timeto time.It may become plugged occasionally.Clean it with a q-tip or similar (see the section"Cleaning and care").

Making ice cubes

Fill the ice-cube tray 3/4 full with water andplace it in the freezer. As soon as the water has turned into ice, youcan take out the ice cubes.Never use sharp objects such as knives orforks to remove the ice cubes. There is a riskof injury!

Let the ice cubes slightly thaw instead, or putthe bottom of the tray in hot water for a shortmoment.

Defrosting of the device

Excessive build-up of ice will affect the freezingperformance of your device. It is therefore recommended that you defrostyour device at least twice a year, or wheneverthe ice build-up exceeds 7 mm.Defrost your device when there is only little orno food in it.

Take out the deep-frozen food. Wrap the deep-frozen food in several layers of paper, or ablanket, and keep it in a cold place.Unplug the device or shut off or remove thefuse to start the defrosting process.Take out the accessories (like shelf, draweretc.) from the device and use a suitablecontainer to collect the thawing water.

Use a sponge or a soft cloth to remove thawingwater if necessary (Fig. 6).Keep the door open during defrosting. For quicker defrosting, place containers withwarm water inside the device.Never use electrical appliances, defrostingsprays or pointed or sharp-edged objects suchas knives or forks to remove the ice.

After the defrosting is done, clean the inside(see the section “Cleaning and Care”).

Reconnect the device to the mains. Place thefrozen food in the drawers and inside thefreezer.

FreezingFreezing foodThe freezing area is marked with this symbol. You can use the device for freezing fresh foodas well as for storing pre-frozen foodPlease refer to the recommendations givenon the packaging of your food.

AttentionDo not freeze fizzy drinks, as the freezing liquidmay burst the bottle.

Be careful with frozen products such ascoloured ice-cubes.Do not exceed the freezing capacity of yourappliance in 24 h. See Technical Featuresleaflet. In order to maintain the quality of the food, thefreezing must be effected as rapidly as possible. Thus, the freezing capacity will not beexceeded, and the temperature inside thefreezer will not rise.

AttentionKeep the already deep-frozen food alwaysseparated with freshly placed food.

When deep-freezing hot food, the coolingcompressor will work until the food is completelyfrozen. This can temporarily cause excessivecooling of the refrigeration compartment.

If you find the freezer door difficult to open justafter you have closed it, don’t worry. This isdue to the pressure difference which willequalize and allow the door to open normallyafter a few minutes. You will hear a vacuum sound just after closingthe door. This is quite normal.

Koelen
