The Sustainable Livelihood Program is a capability-

building program for poor, vulnerable and marginalized

families and individuals in acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain

thriving livelihoods that help improve their socio-

economic conditions.

Objectives The Sustainable Livelihood Program endeavors to strengthen the skills,

competencies, abilities and resources of poor Filipino

families, and create an enabling environment for

accessing income-generating opportunities to

address basic needs, thereby improving their

socio-economic well-being.

Participants must be at least

18 years old* however 16 years old pax can still be

part of any MD projects provided

that they have written legal consent from parents or legal

guardian.

PROGRAM TRACKS

Micro-enterprise DevelopmentParticipants who exhibit

potential and willingness for entrepreneurship may opt to

proceed with the Micro-enterprise Development track

Employment FacilitationParticipants who are qualified

and ready for available employment opportunities

may opt to proceed with the Employment Facilitation track.

ü Availability of project identification tools and monitoring forms, and systems to support the implementation of the program

ü Availability of reliable training partners to capacitate the program participants

ü SLP as a graduation program for conditional cash transfer beneficiaries, and as linkage to mainstream livelihood opportunities

ü Field implementers have easy access of basic data on no. of CCT beneficiaries in each barangay from the information system and the municipal link. However, skills profiles are not easily and accurately accessible.

ü To collect data on external market opportunity there is no formal arrangement with the local government employment office, Department of Labor and Employment, and the Department of Trade and Industry.

RESULTS/  IMPACT

ü Participants, typically choose the MD track due to their poor employability (given age factor, inadequate skill and willingness to travel). The provision of seed capital further attracts beneficiaries towards the MD track.

ü The opportunities of field implementers to introduce SLP and orient potential participants is limited since these are dependent upon the schedule and availability of Family Development Sessions through the Pantawid PamilyangPilipino Program
