“Not before time even politicians are beginning to recognise that university education is not suited to everyone. Moreover many courses at the weaker universities are considered useless by employers who are increasingly looking instead for the kind of skills taught by organisations such as Derwent Training Association.Derwent Training Association is to be congratulated on its success in helping to provide the skilled workers the country so badly needs”.Lord Derwent, Patron

Advanced Apprenticeships in Engineering off er great opportunities to many young people looking for a dynamic career and one in which they can train whilst also earning and developing their full potential.

Off ering choice and fl exibility, we work with local schools delivering a Diploma in engineering and BTECH for year groups 10 and 11 that can lead on to an apprenticeship. After completion of the three and a half year apprenticeship programme, learners can access diploma and foundation degree courses if they wish and we have strong links with the University of Hull, where learners have the opportunity to specialise in a particular fi eld.

All training takes place with us and our partner employers in a highly professional atmosphere where apprentices are managed just as they would be within their professional careers. The apprenticeship programmes are very varied and, although the training is rigorous, we’ll make it fun with visits to diff erent businesses around the region and related exhibitions. Continual assessment by our trainers with us and on the job ensures that all the diff erent aspects of the programme are completed.

A centre of excellence, the training we provide is second to none. With a high retention and total overall success rate of 92.3% we work hard to match the right young people to the right business, helping to unlock their potential, produce skilled engineers and launch them well equipped into a great professional future.
