Welcoming almost 600 delegates, the largest gathering of trade finance professionals in the Mena region took place over five-days in 2017, incorporating three conference days, with a special ECA & infrastructure finance day and two days covering trade & export finance, and a two-day GTR Training seminar focusing on international trade & documentary credits.

Discussions over the course of the three-day conference highlighted strategic priorities and objectives for financing infrastructure across the GCC, the importance of public private partnerships (PPPs), the changing role of ECAs in supporting and financing projects, infrastructure developments in key markets such as Iraq and Egypt, regional trade trends, innovation & digitisation in trade, new laws and regulation, trade and political risk appetite, key trends affecting the corporate treasury function and more.

With 69 speakers taking to the stage over the course of the event, this was a great learning and networking forum for all stakeholders involved in regional trade, export and infrastructure finance.

The targeted GTR Training seminar on days four and five proved most beneficial for attendees, providing fantastic insight on the pivotal role documentary credits still play, despite increased digitisation.
