I have appreciated your support throughout the year with your children. The students are looking forward to a long break and will return in 2017 to their new classes and teachers. All students will receive their reports, class and teacher allocaon along with a required equipment list for 2017 tomorrow aſternoon. Book packs will be available for Stage 2 and 3 children to purchase or alternavely you are able to purchase the books from local suppliers. Please see the equipment list for details. The book packs will be available for purchase by the end of this week - we have been assured by the supplier that delivery will occur this week. The school office will be open next week on Monday and Tuesday if you would like to purchase a book pack. The uniform shop will also be open in January ready for the beginning of the school year. Opening hours are listed adjacent. Congratulaons to all award recipients at Presentaon Evening. A great night that celebrated our students outstanding efforts and hard work. Christmas Carol Extravaganza will be held this Thursday evening with entertain- ment kicking off at 6pm. Come along with your families to sing along to all of the Christmas favourites. Staffing—again we farewell and say thank you and gook luck to Mrs Brooke Barber, Mr Jason Tierney, Mrs Alison Fuller, Mrs Wendy Lee, Miss Marlene Rogers and Mrs Sue Rathbone. We wish you all well for your future. We will welcome a new school counsellor Mrs Sally-Jane St Clair; as well as teachers Ms Sally Constable and Mr Tim Long to our staff. School Development Day will be held on Friday 27th January to begin the year. All students (except Kindergarten) will return on Monday 30th January. Kindergarten students have been advised of their Best Start Assessment mes and will commence school as a cohort on Wednesday 1st February. Have a very happy and safe holiday. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our families. I am looking forward to working with you again in 2017. The students are looking forward to a long break and will return in 2017 to their new classes and teachers. Talent Quest News The annual school talent quest will be held on the 16th December (last day of school) commencing at 9.30am in the hall. All students that were successful in the audition process have received their invitation to perform. Parents are very welcome to come along and see the vast array of talent! End of Year Activities / Parties Stage 1 Pizza Party will be held Friday 16th December. All students will need to bring in $2 to be involved. Stage 2 & 3 will be enjoying an afternoon at the Dubbo Aquatic Centre. Permission notes were sent home last week and must be returned for your child to attend. Early Stage 1: Friday 16th December Combined party at school. Please bring a plate of healthy food to share. No cost.

Drinks, chips and lollies for sale. 6-7pm Entertainment— bring a chair

or a picnic rug, sit back and enjoy!

Library News

Library Books Thank you to parents and students who

have searched hard and found their books. All books

should be back in the library by now.

We want all children to be borrowing from the start of next year. Students with outstanding loans may not be able to borrow.

Lost or damaged books need to be paid for. Reading & Reading & Reading Please give children every opportunity to keep reading over the holidays. Santa loves to give books. The Macquarie Regional Library has a summer reading program. Our e-books can be found at

Positive Behaviour for Learning To fit in with Christmas, students are learning about 'Hope' and discussing a time when they stayed hopeful and things turned out as they wanted. How does staying hopeful help you to change what you do and make it more likely that what you want to happen, will happen?

Year 6 Farewell The Year 6 Farewell will be held tonight Tuesday 13th December in the school hall from 6.30pm un-til 9.00pm.

Smart casual clothes that you would wear to a restaurant is the dress code for the evening. The cutting of the cake will be held at approx. 8.30pm. Parents are welcome to come along then to take photos.

Parents are invited to come and help with food preparation and distribution on the night and then help to pack up the hall.

All students are required to be collected from the hall at 9.00pm.

P&C News

King Rooster Christmas Raffle Our next raffle is $2.00 per ticket or $5.00 for 3 tickets (which gives you another chance to win a prize in the Major Ace Raffle drawn October 2017). Tickets will be drawn Friday 16th December. Fundraising is going towards the DSPS 75th Celebration Open Day and Dinner. 1st Prize: $40 with Frozen Chicken 2nd Prize: $30 3rd Prize: $20 4th Prize: Frozen Chicken. Tickets are available form the Uniform Shop and the Canteen.

Canteen A reminder that stock will be running low by the end of the term, if an item of food is unavailable a substitute will be made. Students in Stage 1, 2 and 3 will be participating in Class Parties on Friday.

Parents will need to pack lunches for students in Stage 2 and 3 or alternatively they can purchase food from the canteen at the Dubbo Aquatic Centre.

Please consider volunteering for the school canteen. Please ring Jodie on 68822957 if you can help.

Book Packs for Stage 2 and Stage 3 All students in Stages 2 and 3 from 2017 will need to supply their own exercise books. To assist with back to school organisation we have put together book packs. Stage 3 and MC $10 Stage 2 $7.50 These are available from the school office. A full requirement list is being sent home with your child tomorrow with their school report.
