Airport Collection 16th
September 2018 The International Student Welcome Service will operate only on Sunday 16th of September 2018.
Airport Pickup Service
We are organising an airport pickup service for students on Sunday 16th of September 2018.
This pick-up service will only be available to students staying on Campus (Glasnevin, St Patrick’s, or All
Hallows), in the Shanowen Square / Hall apartment complex which borders onto the DCU Glasnevin
Campus or Gateway Student Village, Ballymun.
To avail of this service, students who have secured accommodation in either of these locations must ensure that
accommodation is ready for move in on that date.
Students staying elsewhere on the night 16th of September and students who arrive on a different date are ad-
vised to use public transport, (please see the information below).
DCU International Office staff and DCU Student Ambassadors will be at the airport from 7am – 7pm to as-
sist new arrivals with initial information and in identifying the most suitable means of transport. Please look for
the DCU stand located in the Arrivals area.
Airport Collection & Orientation Event Registration.
If you wish to avail of our Airport collection Service and confirm your attendance for our Orientation Events
please complete our on-line airport collection event form (click here) by the 7th September 2018.
Please note that Dublin airport has two terminals. We will be checking terminal details in preparation for the
pickup and you do not need to worry about this particular detail just yet.
Once you have submitted the form we will add you to our arrivals list and meet you at the airport on that day
between the hours of approximately 7.00am and 7.00pm. We will contact everyone wishing to avail of the ser-
vice again after 1st of September with more details.
Arriving outside the scheduled Welcome Service Times
If you are arriving on any other date or outside the times during which our volunteers are at the airport, here is
some useful advice.
The easiest way to get to DCU is by taxi, which will cost around €20-30 depending on the number of people
travelling and items of luggage.
You can also take a bus: both the numbers 16 and 41 leave you 10-15 minute walk from the Glasnevin Campus
and stop directly at St Patrick’s and All Hallows Campus. It costs €2 - €4 for a single ticket. The 16 and 41 buses
also go on to Dublin city centre. Always double check with the bus driver. Bus tickets can be purchased on the
bus, but you need exact change (they do not take bank notes).
