Program Purpose

• The Forest Land Enhancement Program (FLEP) was part of Title VIII of the 2002 Farm Bill. FLEP replaces the Stewardship Incentives Program (SIP) and the Forestry Incentives Program (FIP).

• FLEP is voluntary program for non-industrial private forest (NIPF) landowners. It provides for technical, educational, and cost-share assistance to promote sustainability of the NIPF forests.

Eligibility

• “Non-Industrial Private Forest Landowner”

• Family Forest Lands

• Private, non-profit ownerships

• Tribal Lands

• Lands owned by company’s w/o issued stock and/ or are not primarily engaged in production of wood products

Eligibility

• No Minimum Acreage

• Must Apply for and earn no less than $750

• Own less than 5,000 acres of forestland in WA

• Can receive no more than $20,000 cost-share per federal fiscal year

• Agree to maintain practice for ten years
