OVERVIEWLocationThe Haverford School is located 10 miles from Center City Philadelphia, situated in the heart of the historic Main Line. Occupying 30 acres on the southwest side of Lancaster Avenue (Route 30) in Haverford, Pa., the School is just minutes from SEPTA rail and bus stops, and sits immediately north of the Haverford College campus. Bryn Mawr is immediately to the north, and Ardmore is immediately to the south.

Student transporationHaverford’s students come from more than 90 ZIP codes. Families may choose to take advantage of Pennsylvania School Bus Transportation. To learn more about busing to Haverford, please visit www.paschoolbus.org/LawsRegulations.aspx. school districts within 10 road miles of the School are obligated to bus their students to Haverford.

We are currently served by buses from the following districts: Upper Merion, Colonial, Rose Tree-Media, Lower Merion, Radnor, Great Valley, Upper Darby, William Penn, Marple Newtown, Tredyffrin-Eastown, Swarthmore, Methacton, Springfield, Interboro, Ridley, Southeast Delco, and Wissahickon. Note that the Philadelphia School District will bus only students attending grades 1-8.

Upper School students of legal age may also choose to drive to the School, though parking is limited both on and off campus.

DIRECTIONS TO THE HAVERFORD SCHOOL

BY CARFrom Center City PhiladelphiaTake the Route 76 West (Schuylkill Expressway) toward Valley Forge. Approximately 4 miles from Center City, take the left lane exit to City Avenue/Route 1 heading south. Travel almost 3 miles (past St. Joseph’s University) and look for Saint Charles Seminary on the right; turn right onto Lancaster Avenue/Route 30. Travel 3.3 miles, through Ardmore and past Haverford College (on the left). The Haverford School’s Lancaster Avenue entrance is on the left past Railroad Avenue; the main entrance is on Railroad Avenue/College Avenue.

From the Philadelphia International Airport Exiting the airport, take I-95 south toward Delaware. Exit right onto Route 476, and follow north for 12 miles to the Route 30/St. Davids exit (No. 13); turn right onto Route 30 east. The School is 3 miles ahead on the right side of Route 30.

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit the Turnpike to the Norristown exit. Take Route 476 south, toward Chester. Exit at the Route 30/St. Davids exit (No. 13); turn right onto Route 30 east. The School is 3 miles ahead on the right side of Route 30.

From West Chester Follow Route 3 (West Chester Pike) to Route 476 north. Follow 476 north for 12 miles to the Route 30/St. Davids exit (No. 13); turn right onto Route 30 east. The School is 3 miles ahead on the right side of Route 30.

BY TRAIN & BUSSEPTA Regional Rail Line The Haverford School is a 5-minute walk from Haverford Station on the Paoli/Thorndale Line. The Paoli/Thorndale Line originates in Downingtown and ends in Doylestown, transiting through Center City Philadelphia.

SEPTA Norristown High-Speed Line The Route 100 train runs from 69th Street Station in Upper Darby to Norristown. There is a stop at Haverford Station, about 0.3 miles (a 7-10 minute walk) west of our campus.
