The Christmas Novena begins on Thursday

17th December. At this point, the Advent focus shifts to the

Christmas story and the Virgin Mary. These days serve to

prepare more directly for the Lord’s birth. GNLYC 42

This is the best time to hold carols services and to begin

to sing Christmas carols in the liturgy.

VICTIMS OF CHILD ABUSE – A PRAYER FATHER - Since your mercy has been revealed In the tenderness

of your Son Jesus Christ, who said to his disciples: "Suffer the

little children to come unto me”, we pray that your Church may be

a secure home where all children and vulnerable adults are

brought closer to your Beloved Son. May all those who have

been abused physically, emotionally and sexually by your

ministers, be respected and accompanied by tangible gestures of

justice and reparation so that they may feel healed with the balm

of your compassion.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

CATHOLIC WOMEN CONNECTING RETREAT

BELLINGEN

Save the date: 24 – 26 February 2017

CWC Armidale would like to invite women of all ages and

from all parishes in the Armidale Diocese to a spiritual

retreat on the beautiful grounds of the Bellingen Valley

Lodge. The retreat will be directed by Francine Pirola and

Marilyn Rodrigues from CathFamily and publishers of

Frankly Magazine. The theme being ‘Mercy continues –

Living Within Grace and Joy’. Father Francis Afu will be

available for daily Masses, Eucharistic Adoration and the

Sacrament of Reconciliation. The duration of the retreat will

be from 4pm Friday 24th until after lunch Sunday 26th

February. Approximate cost (including accommodation and

three good meals) for the weekend is $365 for one person

per room, Twin share is $255 and triple share is $218.
