Our standard working hours will be between 0730 and 1800 (Mon-Fri) and 0800 and 1500 (Sat); occasional work outside these hours will be arranged in discussion with the local council and affected residents We will create a temporary construction access off the northbound M6, north of the River Lune, to take large construction vehicles off local roads No construction traffic over 3.5t shall pass through Halton or the centre of Lancaster Over 90% of our earth moving works will take place within the site and along the route, very little material will be moved on public roads We will maintain all public highways in a clean and debris free state We will monitor and manage dust and noise and do all we can to minimise impacts on the public We are working hard to minimise the disruption to the community, but there will be odd occasions where we cannot avoid it. This will be when we are taking delivery of large cranes or big items such as bridge beams. We will talk to people affected and issue press notices well in advance to give you the opportunity to plan other routes We foresee overnight working will be unavoidable at the following locations (but we will talk to those affected and confirm details in advance of the work): College Junction on Morecambe Road, Folly Railway Bridge, works to the M6 motorway and in other isolated locations where we must get large plant or material deliveries Temporary Traffic Management Unfortunately we cannot avoid the need for traffic management. This is as much to protect your safety as that of our workforce We will have a dedicated team of specialist people managing temporary traffic management; regularly checking that signs, barriers and cones remain in the correct place and clean Before new traffic management schemes are put in place they will be advertised in the local press, newsletters and on our scheme website. All traffic management plans will be developed with the local council and Police to ensure that the schemes will be safe and minimise public disruption as much as possible We have already started to plan our sequence of works at major junctions such as College Junction to try to maximise the space available to public traffic throughout our works Compounds Our compound will be similar to the one shown; and our suggested options for locations are detailed on the main scheme drawings. We will need one main compound, with offices, car parking and storage facilities. There will also be a number of smaller satellite compounds required to provide welfare facilities for our staff and small storage units. Our proposed locations for these smaller stores are also shown on the main scheme overview, and we would welcome your comments. Our cabins will be of high quality and well maintained, our car parking facilities will be properly surfaced so we won’t be dragging mud onto local public roads. Large earth moving equipment will remain within the site at all times. Security personnel will be in place at our compounds and roaming site when we are not there. Environment We will protect the environment by; undertaking detailed planning of earth moving activities to reduce distances material is moved and vehicles travel use of recycled materials where possible sourcing materials locally where possible reviewing our working methods to minimise material orders and reduce waste segregating and recycling what waste we do produce ensuring all plant is well maintained to reduce emissions fitting our cabins with motion sensor lights, finsulation and double glazing to reduce our energy consumption prefabricating items where possible to reduce waste During Construction Construction working and accesses Construction Access Routes This map is reproduced by Ordnance Survey material with the permission of Ordnance Survey on behalf of Her Majesty’s Stationery Office ©Crown Copyright.
