    Configuring Dynamic Target ROT Adjustment

    This section describes how to activate, verify, and deactivate the optional feature WRFD-140211 DynamicTarget RoT Adjustment.

    Prerequisites

    Dependencies on Hardware

    The BTS3812E, BTS3812A, or BTS3812AE must be configured with the EBBI, EBOI,EULP+EDLP, or EULPd+EDLP boards. Downlink cells must be set up on the EBBI,EBOI, or EDLP board.

    The DBS3800 must be configured with the EBBC or EBBCd board, and downlink cellsmust be set up on the EBBC or EBBCd board.

    The 3900 series base stations must be configured with the WBBPb, WBBPd, or WBBPf board. Downlink cells must be set up on the WBBPb, WBBPd, or WBBPf board.

    Activation Procedure

    Run the BSC6900 MML command ADD UCELLLICENSE (CME single configuration:UMTS Cell Configuration Express > Cell Parameters > Cell LicenseResource/Function Item ; CME batch modification center: Modifying UMTS CellParameters in Batches ). In this step, select DYN_TGTROT_CTRL_SWITCH(DynamicTarget RoT Adjustment) under Function Switch1 to enable the license of dynamictarget ROT adjustment for a specified cell.

    1.

    Run the BSC6900 MML command MML command ADD UCELLHSUPA (CME singleconfiguration: UMTS Cell Configuration Express > Cell Parameters > Configurationof HSUPA in Cell ; CME batch modification center: Modifying UMTS Cell Parameters inBatches ) or MOD UCELLHSUPA (CME single configuration: UMTS CellConfiguration Express > Cell Parameters > Configuration of HSUPA in Cell ; CMEbatch modification center: Modifying UMTS Cell Parameters in Batches ) to enableDynamic Target RoT Adjustment. In this step, set Switch for Dynamically AdjustingRoT to ON(ON) .

    2.

    Verification Procedure

    Check the related performance counters on the M2000.

    On the M2000, check the counter VS.HSUPA.TgtRoTInc or VS.HSUPA.TgtRoTDec . If the value of either counter is not 0, this featurehas been activated.

    1.

    Initiate message tracing on the LMT.

    On the Run the BSC6900 MML command LMT, click Trace and display theIub Interface Trace dialog box. On the Basic tab page, select the NBAPcheck box under the Trace Type parameter. On the NBAP tab page, selectthe NBAP_COMM_MEAS_RPRT check box under the Message Typeparameter. Then, click Submit to enter the Iub interface trace page.

    1.

    On the Iub interface trace page, check Message Type . If NBAP_COMM_MEAS_RPRT is displayed and the measurement type isuL- Timeslot ISCP , this feature has been activated, as shown in Figure 1 .

    Deactivation Procedure

    Run the Run the BSC6900 MML command MML command MOD UCELLHSUPA (CMEsingle configuration: UMTS Cell Configuration Express > Cell Parameters >Configuration of HSUPA in Cell ; CME batch modification center: Modifying UMTSCell Parameters in Batches ) to disable Dynamic Target RoT Adjustment. In this step,set Switch for Dynamically Adjusting RoT to OFF(OFF) .

    1.

    Example

    //Activating Dynamic Target RoT AdjustmentADD UCELLLICENSE: CellId=1, FuncSwitch1=DYN_TGTROT_CTRL_SWITCH-1;ADD UCELLHSUPA: CellId=1, DynTgtRoTCtrlSwitch=ON;

    //Deactivating Dynamic Target RoT AdjustmentMOD UCELLHSUPA: CellId=1, DynTgtRoTCtrlSwitch= OFF;
