‘‘It’s so overwelming to be recognised for my talent and I can’t wait to take my talent over seas’’.

Hey Skylar. Thanks for dropping in and giving us an interview. So how have you been?I’ve been great thanks. Just working on some new stuff in the studio.So what’s it like to be recognised on the street?

At first I found it incredibly weird that random people would come up to me and say they love me. Sometimes it can be quite embarassing but now I’ve gotten used to it [Laughs]

Now that you are in the spotlight 24/7, do you feel pressured to look good?In the past I did but now I feel that indivuality is key. So I like to have my own personal style and I encourage my fans as well as others to do the same. My motto is to be yourself and I live by that every day.

Recently you worked with the one and only Tinie Tempah. What was that like?

It was amazing. I’m a huge fan and he’s very talented. Sometimes when we were in the studio I would find myself staring at him in awe because I couldn’t believe I was able to work with him. I still can’t believe it now [Laughs]

Now your debut single ‘Poison’ was released earlier this month and it’s already No.3 on the Top 40 chart. Did you expect this to happen so quickly?

Honestly, no, not at all. Because I’m in a competitve genre, I’m competing against amazing artists such as Emelie Sandé and Adele who are truly amazing. So it’s fantastic to be put in the same catergory as them. Hopefully I will be able to work with them one day.

Now you are regonised as a talented R&B artist, was there any other things you want to accomplish?Well when I was younger I wanted to be a dancerThen as I got other I realised that music was my true passion. Hopefully in the future, I may do a little bit of acting but for now my main focus is working on my music.When are we expecting your debut album to hit the stores?The album should be in stores around May/June. Hopefully fans will be able to wait that long [Laughs] and I hope it’s what everybody has been waiting for and more.
