KALEIDOSCOPE Text: Daniel Kägi Photos: Daniel Kägi, Rolf Orschel The family Corina and Urs Welte-Senn have been touring with the Fähtz-Musik Express ”Disco Ex- press” in Switzerland since 2003. The ride was built in 1982 for Heinrich Sonnier, and travelled last in Germany under the management of Christian Mentel from Leipzig. Since 2004, it has been gradually redesigned. This began with the paybox, af- ter which the chaises were completely renovated. The previous rounding boards were replaced completely and the new elements redecorated, so that the ”Disco Express” is now presented in an almost totally new look. Atelier Siefert from Germany was engaged to complete the decoration and painting. All the wheels are to be replaced, which will result in a smoother ride sequence. Almost 480 pages show the complete range of model constructions on scales of HO, TT, N, and Z, in a modern catalogue lay- out. Pages 336 to 365 are dedicated to the colourful and fascinating world of fairground models. Novelties such as the ”Geister-Tempel” (Nr. 140427) and both of the fairground booths ”Entenangeln” and ”Tütenan- geln” (Nr. 140446) are very well illustrated. Models ta- ken out of the programme are the Wild Mouse, Freefall Tower Kinzler, Breakdance, the caravan set in white, and the transport wagon set, also in white. All these models however are still available in the specialized shops for a short while. The fairground range on an N scale remains unchanged. FALLER 2007/2008 8
