Wak~}Forest · is .an A--1 college and stands. equal with other colleges I of its kind in the South; Wake Forest pays a great deal -of atte~tion to athletics and society work; Wake Forest encourages the Glee Club and takes all manner of interest in her students. But what about art in Wake·Forest? Can we say that Wake Forest stands equal with other colleges in this great achievement? I t,pink we· are in the back ground in respect to the department of ~rt.

Can we really expect to stand equalwith other Colleges if we are backward in art? I don't think we can.

In the first place, I think dramatics stand out foremost in the field of art. There is no better training for a student than working in a dramatic club .. It trains men to thank quickly on their: feet; it develops the art of expression; it trains the voice; it e.ncourages impersonation; it trains the person to control his body perfectly at all times; it is instructive from a l'iterary ·. stand point, and in fact dramatics d~velop a student in. many other ways. which will be needless to mention. .
