Oracle’s SPARC T-Series servers support both Oracle Solaris 10 and Oracle Solaris 11, and feature tight integration with Oracle database, middleware and applications to deliver massive performance increases across every tier – from database and Web services through to large-scale ERP and CRM applications.

And with Oracle Virtual Networking’s ability to provide 30x faster data backup and 19x faster VM migration, operating performance can be greatly increased across the network.

Security is in the core of cloud computing. Tighter enterprise user-access policies dictate that each transaction is secured between each node across the enterprise network or internet, and data is encrypted before being stored to the database and decrypted at retrieval. This means every application needs to perform an extra amount of processing just for encryption. The SPARC T5 processor takes this overhead away from the applications and hands over to the built-in hardware crypto accelerators. Now your applications run faster, and as securely as before.

The SPARC T5-2 delivered two world record results for batch only workloads and batch with concurrent online user workloads, beating IBM’s Power 770 results. The SPARC T5-2 provides 3x faster throughput for batch workloads with 12,000 concurrent users than the IBM Power 770, and 2.7x better batch-only throughput per chip than the IBM Power 770.*

The SPARC T5-8 provides 3.4x better Java application performance than the 8-chip IBM Power 780 result, while also being 3.7x less expensive.**
