Introduction

Linked Inwas started by five co‐founders in the year 2003. Thesewere ReidHoffman,AllenBlue, Jean‐LucVailant,EricLy,andKonstantinGuericke. Bytheend of May of that year they had approximately 4,500 users in there newlycreatednetwork,butwhatmakesthisnetworkenterprisesoimportant?

Whatwas really amazing from themwas the idea of not only creating a socialnetwork,butalsocreatinganetworkinwhichprofessionalsallaroundtheworldcouldbejoinedinsomeway.Peoplefromthesameareasofexpertisecouldnowsearchforpartners,jobs,people,investorsandcostumers.Inothertofulfillthisgoal,professionalshavealotofavailabletools.Oneofthemisthefacilitytocreatingprofilesinwhichtheycouldincludetheirbestskills,jobandeducationexperience,areasofinterestandareasofexpertise.Anotheroneisthe opportunity to participate in discussions, which opens the possibility ofgetting good grades when a great comment is done. One more will be theopportunityofbeing incontactwiththemembersof theirprivatenetwork inadirectmessageway.InMay5, 2009, Linked In celebrated their first 40,000millionusers,with 170industriesaround200countries.Aspect that clarifies the idea that Linked In is a network of experiencedprofessionalsconnectedtootherexperiencedprofessionals.ThepurposeofthisworkwillbemainlyfocusedinexplaininginmoredetailwhatLinkedInn couldmake for a professional and which tools are offered to achieve the goal ofsuccess.

1 Opportunities in a great network

1.1 Knowing people

Theprofessionalsuccessofpeoplehastobeingreatproportionwiththeamountofpeopleknown. Sincethat idea isunderstood, it isnormal to thinkthat ifweknowpeoplefasterthesuccesswillcomeinaproportionalway.

That is one of the basic ideas that Linked In uses.
