SHEAR BOND STRENGTH COMPARISON ACCORDING TO WATANABE (SELF- ETCH)
This test simulates the situation in the mouth. The values shows that the adhesion values does not decrease.
In the shear bond strength test according to Watanabe the adhesive and the composite is brought on the substrate (diameter 5 mm). After storage in water for 24 h at 37 °C, the test specimen is pulled apart to rupture and thereby measure the strength. High adhesion values indicate a good bond between adhesive and tooth material.
