MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER OF DMA

DMA in collaboration with AVTEG has organized an interactive session on "Tapping the

Potential of Women for Leadership Roles " on 6th May 2015 at DMA Conference hall,

India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi.

Dignitaries on the dias from L to R : Ms Kiran Ganti, Ms Anuradha Challu, Mr. Rakesh Sharma and Mr. Rajan Pandhi

Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Advisor HR, K L International, Dubai & Past President, DMA welcomed the eminent speakers and the participants as Session Chairman. Mr Sharma

shared that women have been a growing factor in the success of the economy and the full potential of women in the workforce has yet to be tapped. Creating the conditions to unlock the full potential of women and achieve the economic goals is a complex and

difficult challenge. At a macro level, there is significant potential to raise the participation of women across the country. At a corporate level, where many high-skill women are

employed, the opportunity is to continue to advance women into leadership positions where they can make the greatest contributions. Despite the sincere efforts of the corporates, the proportion of women falls quickly as we look higher in the corporate

hierarchy.

Ms Anuradha Challu, Senior Director, HR, Pepsico as a Speaker of Excellence shared

her views on the need to nurture women leadership talent and the importance of gender

diversity at the leadership level. Ms Kiran Ganti, Senior Consultant, AVTEG shared

that often women have to manage home and professional life and that becomes very

hectic. Unless the women receives complete support from home, it becomes difficult for

her to assume leadership role where severe time engagements is needed. She felt that

the mindset needs to be changed.

The session was attended by Senior HR leaders, Diversity Heads and Senior Women

Leaders and also appreciated the niche initiative taken by DMA. Mr. Rajan Pandhi,

Director, DMA gave the vote of thanks.
