NOVEMBER 13 3 PM THE ALETHEIA TRIO RETURNS! e Juilliard-based trio, which wowed our audiences two years ago, returns with another exciting program. Juliette Herlin, cello, Francesca dePasquale, violin, and Kevin Ahfat, piano, present masterworks by Debussy, Ravel, Prokoev and Haydn. T he UUCLV presents a series of Sunday afternoon concerts showcasing local and regional musicians and the church’s exquisite Schimmel concert grand piano. All concerts begin at 3 p.m. and are followed by a “meet the artist” reception. Concerts are held in the church’s second oor sanctuary (a stair glider is available). Doors open at 2:30 p.m. 2017 FEBRUARY 12 – 3 PM CLIPPER ERICKSON – AN ALL-AMERICAN CELEBRATION Following the release of his new CD, My Cup Runneth Over, Erickson returns to our concert series to play the music of American composers R. Nathaniel Dett, Amy Beach, Samuel Barber, Aaron Copland, David Finko and Laurie Altman. His CD was honored by Gramophone UK as an editor’s choice, a tribute echoed by American Record Guide and e Washington Post. MARCH 12 – 3 PM JAZZ AT THE UUCLV Jazz saxophonist, Neil Wetzel, is joined by pianist, Tim Lawton, playing original jazz compositions and covers from his last two releases, Misunderestimated and Cowboys in Capes. Wetzel infuses country Western classics with bebop and post-bop jazz sensibility to create new and distinct sounds and colors.
