    e-WOOF is a bi-monthlye-newsletter produced by a

    small group of Wyoming dog

rescuers in an effort to high-

    ight shelter dogs in critical

    need of help.

e-WOOF spotlights manydogs that face euthanasia

    within days unless they

    are rescued, fostered,

    or adopted.

    Transport can be arranged,

    in most cases, to approved

    adoptive or foster homes

    or rescue organizations.

    Please help us! These are

    good, healthy, happy, lov-

ing dogs that are out of luck

and out of time. We urge you

    to crosspost to e-mail lists

    and Web groups, forward to

    friends, send to co-workers,

    and share with family. We

    hope our efforts, combined

    with yours, will save many

    ives.

BARKLEY is a 9 month old Shepherd mix who is neutered, upto date on all vaccines, and microchipped. When he came to ourshelter three months ago, he was nearly completely feral. He camein with his three sisters and was very protective of them. With alot of work and TLC, he has at least started to trust the staff and

will allow some of the volunteers to interact with him. He is a verysweet, playful, and happy-go-lucky dog once he is comfortable inhis environment. His ideal home would be one without children butpossibly another condent dog to help him come out of his shell alittle more. Hes also learned to wear a collar and walk on leash soany potential adopters would need to be committed to continuinghis training. Were hoping someone will come along who will see thesame potential in Barkley that we do. He deserves a chance!

CARLY is a 6 month old female Retriever mix. She doesnt presentwell at the kennel but she is super sweet once you get her out andacts like a typical puppy! She does need basic puppy training and weare currently working on house training her.

TANNER (no photo)is a 4 year old male yellow Retriever/Labmix. Heres Tanners story: he belonged to a family who over fedhim and the other dog in the house and was advised by a vet to putthem both on a diet, but they took the diet issue too far and bothdogs ended up nearly starved. On a body scale he was at a 3. One daythe two dogs were ghting over a toy and the little girl who lived inthe home got between them and tried to take the toy away and got

bit. Tanner subsequently was surrendered to the shelter where wehave got him on a feeding schedule. Were happy to say he has nowput on weight. He was safer tested and passed with ying colors buthe needs a second chance with a loving owner.

MCBARKER is an 11 month old male Chihuahua. He is so cute!He has been on the oor for a while and is a little shy guy when herst meets people but warms up to them quickly.Dont be fooled byhis name--he does not bark a lot!

SWEETIE and DOBBY were found together, abandoned, ata rest stop near Lodge Grass, Montana. A Good Samaritan pickedthem up and they are now in Sheridan. We believe they are motherand son with Dobby estimated at about eight months old. They will

both be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and ready to go to a foster or

    adoptive home next week.

Sweetie is pretty thin but will probably be about 65 lbs when she isat a good weight and she is probably about 2 years old. She is abso-lutely the sweetest dog!. The girls at the vet clinic have really worked

both dogs over and neither one has offered any kind of protest. Veryaffectionate and good on a leash. It would be great if they can go to ahome together, but it is not a requirement.

Ozzie was a senior German Shepherd in the LongmonColorado, shelter that we received an emergency emaabout. Seniors tend not to do well in shelters and areoften euthanized due to their adoptability. Many folkjust wont give seniors a chance! We featured Ozzie oour Facebook page and one of our longtime eWOOFsupporters and adopters in Denver saw him. Nick haadopted several dogs via eWOOF and given them awonderful home. Now it is Ozzies turn! We are sohappy that Nick adopted Ozzie and he will live out hdays with Nick! Here is his update and some new

photos. We think youll agree that Ozzie is a handsome boy!

Ozzie is one of the sweetest, gentlest dogs Ive ever had, and Shawna was pretty sweet, toHe never barks and doesnt get excited about anything that may come along. Both my guyget along with him just ne. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves or at least dont pltogether.

We went to my aunts house in Longmont today witha big back yard and everything went just ne. Hegot two new Kong tennis balls that used to be bright

yellow. Besides soaking wet, they are now a dingybrown.

The Friday I got him I took him to meet a coupleneighbors and Lori noted his facial expression wasnot happy and his tail was just hanging. She saw hima few days later and noticed a big difference. His face

was happy, big old smile, tail wagging like crazy. Hehas adapted very nicely and is very happy, especially

when his new LL Bean super-sized dog bed got here! He is very skinny right now, and mahave been that way for awhile, and would have to turn over every half hour or so as every-thing is sticking out...ribs, shoulders, hips...and they get sore after a bit. With the new beddoesnt have to turn over all night.

On the negative side, his teeth are in terribleshape (you can see in the picture) and he has nine Epilepsy. Nothing major, it is manageaband once the vet gets back from vacation and have had more time to see just how bad it is, ican be treated with medications and you can him through it if you know what to do. It surefreaks you out though.

So, thanks again for showing him on FacebooHe is the guy Shawna and Edison (my previou

dogs) wanted me to have. Ive seen both of them in him. --Nick
