Every opening of the semester, every first day of the week, every morning as we take our first step on the main gate, there is an overlooked thought on our mind asking, Whats new? And it may not be as apparent but year 203 has brought a lot of changes to Aklan State University Main Campus. There were new things, new events, new people, and even new rules.

The former 3-days examination with schedule has changed to five days wherein every examination will be taken on the day and time and at the room as based on the class schedule of a certain subject. Unlike before, there are no conflicts as to whether who will take a room for that period if it happened that more than one class was listed to occupy it. The placement of faucet at Little Baguio gives comfort in emergency situations.

The University Library has already implemented their revised Library rules, which aims for a more disciplined and more responsible book borrowers and library users.

And speaking of change, a more refined image was achieved as many departments and programs changed their uniforms.

    Editors Note

We dont live for the past. We live for the future. And with this we are aware that things are not going to remain as it is after a period of time has passed by, for it is the law of life that can be simplified in a wordCHANGE.

Aside from being the law of life, change, as well, is the goal of life. This the reason and the main cause why people grow up, study, get a job, get married, get up, do something, breath, live. Change too, is the result of doing these things. That is why change can either be a noun or a verb. our life revolves not just on earth, but on an earth full of changes.

I dont want my world to remain stagnant; I guess, nobody does. Good thing it is my privilege as a human to avail the power of making a change. yes, all of us have it. It just depends on us on how are we going to do it. As for me, I write. I write to make a change. I write what I think is right, and I write what I think it should be.

It is every writers concealed purpose. Though our main goal is either to inform, to entertain, to express, there is this aspiration of altering the situation we are presenting.

As Sheryl Crow once said, A change will do you good.

Learning is always part of our lives and life is the best school of learning. Experience is the best teacher of all times. As student of this university, I could say that I learned a lot not only from my instructors, professors but also from myself as a person.

There maybe times I feel like I am not learning, I cant absorb the information given by our teachers. But despite of it, I am lucky to meet the kind of instructors and professors who have patience and great understanding for learners like me. Through them, I learned to discover my hidden skills that I never thought I have. I learned to create patterns in my learning style. I can processed my learning and I gained confidence to participate in our class discussion.

Learning in school is one great experience. Meeting different people, different perceptions in life, different beliefs and values. By these, I see my life in a bigger perspective. I learned to stretch out my wings to embrace the difficulty and hardship of learning. As a person, I became more flexible to the word change. Mahatma Gandhi once said, you must be the change you wish to see in the world. Each and every one of us could be a subject of change. The change that I want to see in the world comes from ourselves.

I need to influence others to help them see things in a different perspective. I need to motivate myself to encourage others to move and work things out. All good things that I want to see in the community starts with M-E.

I know that there is no easy way to start change. Someone must go through the dark hole of uncertainties to quantify the rights from wrongs. I am not perfect but I can accept change not to become acceptable in unacceptable community but to embrace failure in more human way.

Unknown Message of Learning and Change

Social media has been a part of our present civilization. People in all walks of life would agree that we cant imagine living without it.

If we try to reflect on how really social media has affected our lives, it seems too complex to discuss.

However, to define social media, is to break it down. Encarta Dictionaries define media as the various means of mass communication considered as a whole, including television, radio, magazines and newspapers, together with the people involved in their production. While, the word social means relating to interaction of people; relating to the way in which people in groups behave and interact.

Social media, on the other hand, is a two-way street that gives anybody the ability to communicate too.

Because social media is such a broad term, it covers a large range of websites. But the one common link between these websites is that you are able to interact with the website and interact with other visitors.

Here are some examples of social media websites:

Social networking has become the most popular activity in todays Internet world, with billions of people across the world are using this media to meet old friends, making new friends, to collect and share information, social networking while being a popular media has several disadvantages associated with it. These sites can be trapped by scammers or hackers leading to loss of confidentiality and identity theft, of the users.

22 Percentage who check/s their sites more than 10 times a day.

39 Percentage who has posted something they later regretted.

37 Percentage who have used the sites to make fun of other students.

24 Percentage who has hacked into someone elses social networking account.

13 Percentage who have posted nude or seminude pictures or videos of themselves or others online.

Below are some thoughts we have gathered from the students at Aklan State University Banga, Aklan on what they have experienced as they deal with social media in their daily lives as students.

Ive been experiencing cyber bullying and it makes me feel down sometimes and lost confidence. - Social Media User

I am annoyed by social media (system) updates that make social networking difficult to understand and use - Social Media User

Social media is a very useful medium towards interacting with colleagues. But then, social media is also challenging for me, on how to protect my privacy. We must be responsible in using social media as a medium for conversation and interactions Social Media User

Every time I saw my friends opening their accounts during our ICT I reminisce all that happened when I have a Facebook account. Up to this present I still dont know who is that pathetic user of that account who embarrass me in social networking. Social Media User

I was hurt when my Facebook account was hacked and I value it because it served as my form of communication with my friends for almost 3 years. - Social Media User

Ive experienced a cyber-attack (hacking) on my Facebook account, I was really mad because it contained my personal information and photos - Social Media User

Ive encountered a certain problem in connection with the social media issue. Cyber-bullying brings another kind of human violation through the advance technology in form of social media.

Ive come to realization that its not appropriate to violate ones personality since its in the world of social networking where everyone can see and view whats happening. Its not justifiable! - Social Media User

The youth is the hope of our motherland, this is according to our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. And this can possibly happen if our youths are being educated.

Education is one of the precious things that every youth can have. It will serve as a catalyst that they can use to change their win future, their family and the whole country as well to make it brighter. But how can they do it if they dont have the opportunity to be educated up to college?

Today, youths are determined and motivated to study but hindered by poverty to do so. They have the intelligence but dont have the enough finances to exercise this gift to the grounds of education.

I assume every one of us do believe in the saying If theres a will, theres a way. You will not stop until you achieve the dream and the goal that you really wanted to achieve for it to become a reality. And the solution for that problem is to have a scholarship.

Luckily, Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), in their Capability Building Program offers a scholarship for those deserving youths wanted to study in college, especially in the field of Agriculture and Fisheries. The scholarship is called Youth in Agriculture and Fisheries Program (YAFP).

    T h e Y A F P w a s d e s i g n e d i n furtherance of Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act (AFMA) section 77.3

    YAFPA Hope for the Less

    RoMELyN C. AMISToSo

which mandates the Department of Agriculture (DA), particularly the ATI and the National Agriculture and Fisheries Council (NAFC), in collaboration with other concerned agencies to expand its existing program for scholarships for degree training in agriculture and fisheries for capable and deserving youths. This refers particularly to the small-holding farmers in order to encourage and support their studies, services and professional careers.

The scholarship is open for the youths that will be able to pass the eligibility and documentary requirements that they have.

Almost 20 scholars in the year 2013 were limbered to the program. Three of them successfully graduated, and others are still striving hard for their studies to make their family and the YAFP people proud of them. They are Catherine May Barrientos, Ma. Luisa Cangayda, Menveluz De Joseph, Jeflor Dela Cruz Kathleen Mae Ingalla, Reynan Lachica, Rishel Miguel, Fritz Dominic Molo, Jean Navarro, Jessa Nepomuceno, Tarcesio Nervar Jr., Jorce Requiola, Jeonalyn Retulin, Marialyn Ruzgal and Christine Mae Tuberas.

Well of course, every privilege must not be taken for granted. The YAFP program should follow the terms and condition of the program. If you were given the opportunity to study, be thankful and always make it at your best. YAFP is for those who have less yet deserves more of life.

Philippines have been a backward country for hundred years under foreign colonizati on, leaving us, Filipinos, wounded mentally and socially.

Presently, were sti ll seen as educated underdogs, hoping and striving to be ousted from this unkind reputati on.

The good thing is, we are working our best to reach our dream scheme. Every Filipino victory is a lavishing honor on strengthening the hopeful hearts of its people. And recently, not just a proud Filipino, but an Aklanon, stood up and held the torch of success in an internati onal reality competi ti on called Apprenti ce Asiawherein a group of aspiring young business people compete for the chance to work with Malaysian Entrepreneur Tony Fernades. It was dubbed as the worlds toughest job interview.

July 31, 2013people all over the country went on frenzy, utt ering the good news that Jonathan Allen Salazar Yabut, a senior product manager from Philippines (Malinao, Aklan) was hired by Fernades over a Singaporean civil-and-commercial liti gati on lawyer, Andrea Loh. Jonathan bested eleven fi nalists who were all successful in various businesses across Asia.

Crossing on some of his interviews and boardroom deliberati ons gave answers on How this young Filipino man does it?

When opportuniti es come, jump on itJonathan is a self-proclaimed devotee of

The Apprenti ce. So when the competi ti on was brought to Asia, he immediately sent his video applicati on. And out of hundreds of applicants all over the conti nent, he was chosen to proceed on the next level.

In the end, people will die, people will forget about you, but your legacy will stay on how much you imparted and shared with people.

The competi ti on has been a tough journey for Jonathan. But through this he has learned a lot of things; managing risks, being ready for the worst, the lesson of culti vati ng strengths rather than to delve on weaknesses, and appreciati ng the power and magic of strategies.

Is the climate changing right now? How much does human activity affect climate change? How will climate change affect the world and society? What can we do about climate change? These are just some questions which define how eminent our awareness is, as a student concerning with this undeniably threatening and alarming reality.

Climate varies abruptly from time to time. Seeing dramatic changes in other aspects of climate and related effects on ecosystem distribution of rainfall, storm activity, extinction of plant and animal species, and seasonal change to name a few is an ample evident of it.

This constant changes on earths weather affects greatly the way we live due to its devastating consequences. An instant is that, plant and animal species are adapting to changing environments by migrating to new areas. As species move, they bring diseases with them to farms and human populations. Biodiversity diminishes as some species become extinct due either to human-caused climate change or to related human activities such as habitat destruction or toxic pollution. Its one of the delimma happening nowadays out of the myriad effects of climate change on society and natural world.

Evidently, human activity is responsible for most of the climate change in recent years particularly the warming of atmosphere and ocean. Reality is that, carbon dioxide is produced when humans burn gasoline, natural gas, and coal to produce electricity and drive cars, trains, ships and aircraft. Because

    Taking Action on Climate Change

of this, humans have become a force of nature and are altering the flow of matter and energy on the planet. Indeed, this changing climate presents a significant challenge to our society nowadays the greatest environmental challenge of our time.

As a student of this most eco-friendly university here in the region, it is also a great challenge for us to offer a hand in mitigating climate change. How? Its by contributing efforts to reduce or prevent emission of greenhouse gases. Mitigation can mean using new technologies and renewable energies, making older equipment more energy efficient, or changing management practices or consumer behavior.

It is possible to prepare for climate change and to avert the worst effects of it, but to do so we need to understand why climate change is happening and make informed choices as individuals and communities based on scientific evidences. Information alone is not enough to choose appropriate policies and strategies to limit some climate changes that are already well under way, but without understanding the basic causes and effects of climate change, we will be unable to make informed decisions that will affect generations to come.

It is by doing things one at a time;a simple way that can lessen the effects of this climate change, for even small action but with grandest intention can stir a big difference in this world.

Plastic is a non-biodegradable material and considered as a major cause of different types of environmental pollution. However, plastic is very abundant. We can see everywhere a bunch of different plastic materials, from plastic bags, plastic cups, plastic covers, and plastic containers. It may be exaggerated to say but I guess it is possible that years from now, Earth will be filled with plastic. If only we can stop the use of it.

It cannot be denied that plastic has also been very helpful to us in many ways. It has made our lives more convenient and efficient. Through plastic, shopping had been very effortless. Through plastic, organizing and carrying things had been so easy. Plastic is invented for these reasons. That is why it is called as a product of innovation. But truly, innovation goes with a negative consequence, for now, we are experiencing different environmental turbulences like climate change and pollution, and yes, plastic is one of its culprits.

We are given the chance to live on Earth, but this goes with a responsibility. That is, in return, we have to take care of this planet. So, what do we have to do in order to fulfil this duty? The answer is, eliminate those things that harm it.

Recently, Aklan State University was awarded as the most Eco-Friendly

Plastic FREE Canteen, Snakhaus, and Cafeteria: A VISION, A MISSIONMAyFLoR GAy F. SALAZAR

School. It is a good step on proving that we, ASUians, were doing our share. We have just finished a pacecleaning. Maintaining the cleanliness of our University by means of putting the garbage on proper place is easy. Now we have to face another challengeplastic free Campus.

Where do we usually use plastics? Its when we purchase food products. However, we are aware that it is

somehow impossible to totally vanish the utilization of plastic in our Canteen, Snakhaus, and Cafeteria for there are food products and drinks that use plastic containers. But we can at least minimize its use.

Paper wrappers can be used in burgers and sandwiches,

and for carrying take-outs. Instead of transferring drinks in an ice bag, we can simply drink it directly from the bottle when were not in a rush. Plastic cups of juices can be recycled; we dont have to throw it away.

If we are creative enough, even our doypacks can be utilized as materials in making useful stuffs like bags, organizers and containers.

These are things that dont require much effort, but can create a huge impact in our pursuit to a plastic-free environment. Plastic wont move on its own. Earth cant salvage itself. It needs us. Let us all get up and start to care.

The custom of conservatism in the Philippines gradually obscures as the rate of young mothers gradually increases. Hearing teenage pregnancy cases is common nowadays. The abstract force that triggers the teens heart is love, thats just normal. However, knowing that Philippines has the third highest rate of teenage pregnancies in Southeast Asia, second only to Laos and Timor, is definitely a dumbfounding fact. Assec. Peri Cendaa confirmed at the National Teen Pregnancy Summit that 36.7% of young Filipinos believe early sexual encounter is acceptable in society. Furthermore, most pregnancy cases are usually unexpected and unplanned. Some rare and certain of these even turned to illegal abortion. National Statistics Office revealed that 26.7% of women who gave birth to their first baby in 2010 were aged 15-19 years old. Is it still normal?

A statement in an article of Nirva dela Cruz of 2012 Youth Pinoy caught my attention. It states, Apparently, hanging out at home alone with their boyfriends makes teens more likely to get pregnant. While parents are busy working to provide the financial and physiological needs of the family, sometimes they lack to give sufficient attention in the socio-emotional

Bakla, bakla!, this is only one of the many taunts commonly heard within elementary, as well as in high school and college students. You may think its funny, if it is not you being teased. But what do you think those who are being pointed out would feel about it? Though its true, we still cant ignore the fact that it might hurt them.

Gay acceptance in our country may be rated as 50-50. Some people accept them for who they are, but there are those who reject them for what they are. If you will be asked about your view on this, what will you say? Are you against them for the thought that they have committed sin, or are you in favor of their circumstance by thinking that they are just experiencing identity crisis?

In the Bible, we all know that there

Respect if you cant AcceptRoMELyN C. AMISToSo

is no such thing as Gays, but there is a thing called human. Gays are still humans, right? I am not either anti or pro-gays, rather I am on the side of Humanity.

To be fair, gays should not be labeled as salot, for as I have noticed, many of them are prolific

and talented. From being a choir member, dance instructor, comedian, breadwinner, gays can prove that they are as well worthy to be treated like normal people.

Yet I knew that in moral aspect, some people cannot just tolerate them. But let us just be settled by the thought that no matter what they are, and what identity they have, they are still humans. If we cant accept them as gays, let us respect them as beings.

...no matter what they are, and what identity they have, they are still humans.

    Bullying ANGELICA LACHICA

A Nightmare with a Holy Terror

Millions had become victims of torments from verbal abuse to physical infliction of these human scourges. Their ways of torture undeniably exist almost everywhere around the global sphere and even across the cyberspace. Many lives were exterminated - had been killed or had committed suicide. No matter how horrifying the term bullying is, the persons behind it are even more dreadful. This problem is real.

Bullies, though they do acts that are inhumane, are humans. However, they thought that they are better than other humans while you are worse than other humans. They fix themselves by breaking others. Some of them use fists or grip others hair to approach a target. Cases such as an eight-year-old Soweto girl kicked and beaten by three school bullies and a 12-year-old boy who got a fight at Magnolia Middle School show how physical bullying is alarming. Both of them recently died. Some bullies also use their mouths to sing satires and bewitching compliments with insults, sarcasms, and threats. They always go with their bad mood and utter their bad words. When they saw you socializing with opposite sex, you will be called flirt. When you didnt laugh on their jokes, you will be called slow. When you are happy with the activities they never understand or cant do,

you will be called weird. When you havent answered their silly questions correctly, you will be called moron. When they are not yet contented of describing you, they will start describing your close friend too. You became their target because of being your true self. Sometimes, victims were outgrown with the fact that there is something wrong with them as if they have to reprogram themselves just to

be accepted. Otherwise, they were immune as if they were nothing but just mere dissolute outcasts who deserve to be isolated forever.

Reflecting with reality, you cannot force someone to respect you but you can refuse to be disrespected. Sometimes, you have to be assertive in a smart way. Those who tried to break you are the ones who tempt you to fight back. You dont have to revenge for responding with wrath on anothers wrath. It is like putting a gasoline on burning wood. It will even worsen the situation. Its much better to take it lightly, smile and move on. Always remember that you are special on your own and you dont need to humiliate anyone just to prove your existence. Actually, those bullies are the ones who need to be saved for they were imprisoned in darkness. Those bullies are the ones who need to be described for they do not know how to exist without hurting others. Those bullies are the ones who need love for they had already outgrown with hatred. How would they know how to love others without knowing how to love themselves first? Those bullies are the ones who need prayers for they had lost their souls.

Many people died. Many had suffered because of bullying. If youre a bully, stop it now before you become a killer.

Theres no permanent thing in this world except changes. A universal saying, an archaic thought, a clich reality that keeps on reverberating in the mind and finally sets as a reminder to prick our consciousness from dead-solid sleep.

The deteriorating world is abruptly changing, so as its fragmentary parts too. Our prevailing atmosphere alters from time to time and its quite inevitable. Climate change was therefore introduced. It began its toll to the humankind. What shall we do?

Republic Act No. 9729, also known as the Climate Change Act of 2009 was enacted by the senate and House of Representatives. It was signed into law during the administration of Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to mainstream climate change into government p o l i c y f o r m u l a t i o n s , establishing the framework strategy and program on climate change, creating for this purpose the climate change commission and for other purposes. This act is adopted from Philippine Agenda 21, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and Hyogo framework for Action. The ultimate objective of the law is to fulfill human needs while maintaining the quality of the ITS

order to build national and local resilience to climate change-related disasters.

In view of this, the establishment of Climate Change Commission (CCC) was also highlighted as part of developmental instrumentalities of the government. It was erected to combat the predicament about the climate change issue.

It is clear that our government takes several actions to solve this knotty point. But, is it visible? Why are there still catastrophes that stricken the country and took countless lives?

Since climate change can cause several chaos such a; rising seas, changing landscapes, increasing frequency of droughts, floods and storms, climate-related illnesses and diseases, damage to ecosystems, biodiversity loss that affects the countrys environment, culture and economy, it is mandatory that not only the government but also the citizens of this country are obliged to join the brigade for environmental awareness.

Aklan State University Banga and New Washington Campuses are mere proofs that we take actions for a healthful ecology by joining the search for an eco-friendly university.

In this crucial time where environmental ignorance is rampant and fatal, we simply divulge our efforts and clamors in accord for sustainable development. ASU is indeed a portal for change. Truly, its never too late.

As I am wandering on the ground, feeling the touch of the soft breeze caressing my skin, I suddenly heard a pleading voice asking for help. I turned my head from left to right to search for it, but I saw nothing. Then I realized, it seems like the murmur and cry of our Mother Earth.

All of a sudden, teardrops run down my face. I found myself crying for I can feel the pain, the sorrow, the disappointment of our Mother Earth on all humankinds who did not listen to her supplication for rescue from slowly demolishing which was caused by our greed. All that she wanted was to provide our needs, but what have we done in return is destruction.

Then a situation flashed in my mind. There were deaths, injuries, and birth defects on creatures caused by our improper disposal of toxic wastes. It spread quite fast and had contaminated the lakes, rivers, even the atmosphere and became a major threat not only to our environment but most especially to our health. Those wastes contain carcinogens known to cause cancer to appear at increased frequency in exposed individuals.

Suddenly, I fell in total darkness. I can feel the emptiness that surrounded my whole being. I can feel Mother Earth gasping out of breath because of suffocation caused by hazardous toxic waste which we, humans, just dumped anywhere.

Somewhere in my mind, I hear people blaming the government for the improper waste management in their area. Is it right to put the blame on them? Why dont they

blame themselves either? There is Republic Act No. 9003, an act providing for an ecological solid waste management program, creating the necessary institutional mechanisms and incentives, declaring certain acts prohibited and providing penalties, appropriating funds therefore, and for other purposes, to ensure the protection of public health and the environment. But this act will only be effective if we know how to follow, and if we practice the word discipline.

Just think how lucky we are to have been blessed by the wondrous beauty of our Mother Earth. We are lucky to have felt the gentle breeze of fresh air, to have seen the fascinating view of the vast fields, to have felt the refreshing splash of cold water on streams, to have listened to the humming of the birds. We are lucky we were able to play under the pouring rain, and had climbed the trees and enjoyed its calming shed. These are just some of the precious gifts coming from earth. Are we generous enough to share it with the next generations?

If we go on with our erroneous deeds, I pity those future inhabitants of Mother Earth for surely, they wont be able to appreciate her beauty.

And then I came back to my senses. However, the plea of Mother Earth still echoed on my mind. I had escaped the world of fantasy, but I am aware that it can possibly turn into reality. So in order to avoid it, we must keep in mind, that the fate of Mother Earth lies in our hands.

The cold silver moon was flaunting its luminous glory at 360 degrees. He could see it from the open window of his room. It could have been a nice display yet it was not enough to entertain him, not at this point of time.

He shut his eyes which were supposedly closed just awhile ago. The night wasnt still for he can hear them fighting...like they always do even years before...the reason why he cant make himself fall back to sleep. For almost a couple of hours he slept, but the commotion from the next room disturbed him. He tried to wrap his head and ears with the pillow from his thighs but still, the vexatious noise penetrated into its fluffy insides. He curled himself and rolled to the left then to the right but to no avail.

What did Mr. Bean put into his ears while he was on the train with the noisy laughing man? He wished he could have thosethis was his thought when he remembered something. He rose and stealthily walked towards the drawer where he placed his backpack then got something from it...an insulated wire with two distinct plugs at one end and a jack at the other. This has been his medium of escape from external

inflictions, the excruciating realities of the world, and especially at times when he could not get a good sleep because of the insidious upheaval from the next room. He put on his good old earphones and plugged the pin on his phones socket, scanned through his wide selection of fast tempo and heavy beat song, turned the player on and set it on the maximum volume. He closed his eyes and hoped so much that he can finally fall back to sleep. Yes. He can sleep this way even it is 120 decibels loudenough to make his eardrums flung out of his auditory canal. Finally, there were no more screaming and shouting to be heard, only loud rocking melodies. Nothing would stop him now from having his piece of solemn pleasure after a days exhaustion.

Tomorrow? Tomorrow will be a brand new day. He will go to school as if nothing happened tonight. He will be having fun with his friends...so much fun and itll be a great relief, relief from the pain hes been dealing with for years in this housea place which he doesnt know when to be called a home. At least for a short while, tomorrow in school...everything will be okay.

Problems exist, questions arise, investigations happen, and answers were then given.

In this complex world, we sometimes tend to quest what seems to be unusual. We try to know what is unknown and be like someone who is inquisitive to know everything. We search and search until we are contented of what we have gathered. We attempt to answer queries and solve the problems of human life.

But with all of these, have we ever thought of what we are doing? Have we ever realized that we are now walking on the paths of Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, Thomas Edison and other scientists and researchers? Come to think of it!

Leading towards academic excellence, Aklan State University- Main Campus has its student researchers that are competent enough to present and showcase their researches. They seek problems, examine every detail and give possible answers to it.

Here are some of the best works accomplished by the ASUian students, that we are proud of.

From the School of Arts and Sciences, former Bachelor of Arts 3rd Year Major in English has conducted a research on Effects of Using Mother Tongue As a Medium of Instruction To

The Academic Performance of Grade 1 Pupils of Medina Integrated School. This research was conducted to determine the effects of using mother tongue as a medium of instruction to academic performance of the pupils as well as to determine the difference on their performances when it is applied. Another research presented by these students was the Teaching Performance of Grade One Teachers Using Mother Tongue as Medium of Instruction. It aims to determine the teaching performance of grade one teachers using mother tongue as medium of instruction at Kalibo Pilot Elementary School and Kalibo Elementary School. With the support and assistance of Mr. Juvy M. Casimero, and other professors, these were all made possible.

For the first time in the history of College of Teacher Education Undergraduates, the former 3rd year Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English has conducted a research entitled Matu-Matu(A Glossary of Aklanon Reduplicants). This research

Soreno together with Professor Eva Orlina at the Punta Villa Resort, Arevalo, Iloilo City during the 2nd Regional Student Agriculture Research Symposium last August 15-16, 2013.

According to Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Research is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought. Problems do exist, but these students have open the gates through researches. They saw what others have also seen, but they have proved that it does not end on what they see but it ends on what they could do about what they have thought. ASUians have the broader knowledge to use, to cultivate, and to empower. These are just some of the best of the best, ASUians could give. Want to be one?
