They have holes at the place of ears.

That is their inner part of the ear ispresent in the body.

Snake use their skin to sense thevibrations from the ground.

Hearing underwater Hearing threshold and the abilitytolocalize sound sources are reducedunderwater, in which the speed of

sound is faster than in air. Underwaterhearing is by bone conduction, and

    localization of sound appears to

depend on differences in amplitudedetected by bone conduction.[3]

    [edit] Hearing in animals

Not all sounds are normally audible to all

animals. Each species has a range ofnormal hearing for both loudness(amplitude) and pitch (frequency). Manyanimals use sound to communicate with

each other, and hearing in these species isparticularly important for survival andreproduction. In species that use sound as

a primary means of communication, hearing is typically most acute for therange of pitches produced in calls andspeech.

Frequencies capable of being heard by humansare called audio or sonic. The range is typicallyconsidered to be between 20 Hz and 20,000Hz.[4] Frequencies higher than audio are referredto as ultrasonic, while frequencies below audioare referred to as infrasonic. Some bats use

ultrasound for echolocation while in flight. Dogsare able to hear ultrasound, which is the principleof 'silent' dog whistles. Snakes sense infrasoundthrough their bellies, and whales, giraffes,

dolphins and elephants use it for communication. Certain animals have more sensitive hearing than

humans which enables them to hear sounds toofaint to be detected by humans.
