⟩⟩⟩ Overview

The 5th International Athens Conference on project Management Best practices is Greece’s leading project management event, covering the latest trends in the field. This year’s conference examines how lean project management best practices can incorporate a greener way of doing business.

Like project management, lean management can accelerate the project life cycle, add value to the end product and ensure flexibility and customer satisfaction. Many large organizations are now working to deliver sustainable products and/or projects that are made through environmentally friendly technologies or “green” processes and technologies. Can these efforts be leveraged for the benefit of business and society?

This conference brings together practitioners and lean experts from both local and foreign organizations to present practices and examples of how you can leverage green and lean to save money and increase value for your customers, suppliers and society at large.

Who should attend: Anyone wishing to learn more on the benefits, the value, the cost and the tools that drive lean and green project management practices, senior and middle management executives, project managers, operational line managers, academics and consultants.

When and Where: The conference will be held on June 14, (8:30 a.m. -18:00 p.m.) at the Hellenic American Union’s state-of-the-art Conference Center, located downtown Athens on Massalias 22.

8 pdus can be applied towards pMI credential retention.

Making PrinCe2 a lean and green method of running projects

Alan Wade, Business Management Consultants

14:30-16:00

Lean and green project management approaches revolve around three critical decisions: the first is to decide if the project is really needed and that the benefits proposed are much greater than the investment in the project. The second decision is to ensure that plans are relevant, realistic and environmentally sound utilising minimum resources to achieve the project’s objectives. The third and final critical decision requires effective measurement of progress to ensure that the project is following the mean and green principles throughout its life cycle.

This workshop will help you identify how PRINCE2 methodology facilitates project efficiency by eliminating waste and improving the quality and value of project outcomes.

Learning outcomes

In this workshop you will:• Identify lean and green principles of

project management using PRINCE2 as a methodology

• Identify a way of working that reduces or eliminates waste in all areas of project management

• Improve the value of project outcomes using fundamental lean and green principles
