During interaction with various Industries, MPTA realized that on one handthere in unemployed youth who is desperately looking for jobs and on theother hand companies do not have the manpower with the required skillsets. Practical Training is the only way to bridge this gap. The students whohave completed their education ( either 10th or 12th / ITI ) are not able topursue higher education due to financial or geographical reasons. HenceMPTA decided to bring such students and the companies together to meetthe needs of each other.

The Prime Minister in his 10th Five year plan has focused on the importance ofproviding skill based training and creating workforce of more than 50 CroreSkilled Employees to be provided to various Manufacturing and ProcessIndustries which can help fight global competition. Public and PrivateParticipation is the need of hour to address this gigantic challenge.

YCMOU and MPTA have agreed to therefore implement B.Sc. ( Industrial Science ) under the “ Earn and Learn ” program. The Government has alsorecognized this effort taken by YCMOU and MPTA by way of issuing a Government Resolution under the number TED - 2011 / 63 / 11 TechnicalEducation - 5.

1. Diploma in Industrial Science :10th Standard Pass Students can enroll for Diploma in Industrial Science andsimultaneously appear for 12th Standard Examination. The successful students may then pursue B.Sc. (Industrial Science)

Selection of Students :

For effective implementation of “Earn and Learn” Program, the candidates will beassessed for their urge and suitability for this course. The students shall therefor be tested by way of assignments and preparatory tests before including them forthe course.

Companies shall provide the necessary infrastructure for trainees toundergo the course at their premises.

YCMOU shall conduct the exams and certify the students.
