Waste The CityCenter team developed a str ic t
construction waste management plan at the outset of
the project to redirect recyclable and reusable resources
back to the manufacturing process.
Materials designers used products manufactured with
recycled content and sought local and regional products
to minimize the emission of greenhouse gases caused
when materials are transported.
Wellness A stringent indoor air quality plan was
implemented during construction to ensure a healthier
environment to maximize the comfort and well-being
of CityCenter residents and guests. ::

Earthly energy
CityCenter was created with a vision to bring a
new level of environmental consciousness to the
world-famous Strip. In residences, appliances, materials,
fixtures and furnishings were thoughtfully selected with
the environment in mind. As an owner, this translates
into an increased quality of life through cooler interior
temperatures, increased indoor air quality and more
energy-efficient systems. Some highlights of sustainable
design features found at CityCenter are below.
Energy measures were taken during the design of
CityCenter to achieve a more than 30% improvement
in energy efficiency compared to traditionally designed
buildings to reduce the use of fossil fuels.
Water from plumbing design to investment in low-flow
technologies to conscientious operating procedures,
the CityCenter team incorporated water conservation
practices throughout the campus.
Transportation CityCenter attractions are within
walking distance of one another, and other services and
amenities are within a half-mile radius, reducing guests’
and residents’ dependence on automobiles.

A state-of-the-art 8.2-mega-

hotel and residential use.
CityCenter has a density of
112 units per acre, comparable
to the density of manhattan.
over 90% of CityCenter’s

Las Vegas has firmly established itself as one of
the undisputed shopping destinations in the world.
opening this december, Crystals at CityCenter now
adds a concierge-level experience to an unmatched
collection of retail favorites and exclusive fashion
ateliers to set a new standard for the personalized
experience that every shopper craves and you can
enjoy every day as a resident.
Crystals is CityCenter’s spectacular 500,000-square-
foot retail, entertainment and dining district by Studio
daniel Libeskind* and david Rockwell, combining
dramatic architecture and design with exclusive
offerings from the world's most elite brands under a
multi-faceted canopy of unprecedented brilliance.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to have a
personal shopper available on demand who is familiar
with your likes, dislikes, favorite brands, and wish list,
you’re about to find out. The staff and management
at Crystals have mapped and refined each detail
of the guest experience. unlike a typical “mall”
information center, the concierge staff at Crystals
will know residents and guests by name and provide
knowledgeable assistance with package delivery,
dining arrangements, personal shopper services
and more. whether you are in residence or planning
your next visit, the concierge staff at Crystals will
challenge themselves to make your experience
exactly what you want it to be.
Before you step inside, you’ll see that Crystals is unlike
anything you have experienced. As you enter, you
find elements coming together to create something
new and exciting—a space that is simultaneously
massive in scale, yet intimate in scope; a marvel of
modern technology that is refreshingly human; and
a hub of entertainment and excitement interspersed
with spaces for art, reflection and community.

Another welcome surprise is the ease with which
guests can access Crystals’ 70+ offerings. You may
be familiar with long and tiresome walks that are the
signature of many shopping destinations. A complete
circuit through Crystals is a mere three minutes. The
brevity of the walk shouldn’t be confused with limited
offerings, however. Crystals’ multi-tiered structure
presents shops, boutiques and dining venues vertically
rather than horizontally. here’s a sample of what you
might notice on your journey through Crystals:
Natural light and open air A portion of the ceilings
at Crystals are in fact crystal-clear glass, creating
skylights that flood the interior with natural light.
with ceilings that reach over 120 feet high in
places, there is a sense of openness and light that is
unparalleled anywhere in Las Vegas.
Manhattan-like navigation The skylights at Crystals
offer visual navigation cues throughout the shopping
experience. one skylight might reveal mandarin
oriental, another The harmon hotel™ or Veer Towers.
unlike other bewildering retail spaces, you’re never
lost, never disoriented and what was new a moment
ago becomes instantly familiar.
Sensory delights A 1,400-square-foot floral carpet
extends throughout Crystals, changing every two
weeks and for holidays and special events, scenting
the air and delighting the eye.
Crystals will open in december 2009 with offerings
from Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., h.Stern and more.

There’s likely no one more excited about taking occupancy of their new CityCenter residence
than Brian fettner, our featured buyer at Veer Towers. having purchased his residence back
in 2006, he’s been eagerly waiting to take his first step inside. A regular visitor to Las Vegas,
Brian wasn’t even looking for a second home in the area when he stumbled across a news story
about CityCenter and its landmark qualities.
“The benefits that come with being a
CityCenter owner—they’re real benefits,”
states Brian. “Access to sold-out show
tickets, Veer’s amenities and the attractions
of the CityCenter community—add all of
that to having an address at the heart of the
Las Vegas Strip? It’s unmatched.”
Brian found Veer’s contemporary fittings
and understated elegance an ideal fit for his
lifestyle. making the cross-country flight from
his florida home to Las Vegas five to six times
a year, he anticipates that the number might
increase the minute he steps foot inside his
new Veer residence. “I see it turning into a
week here and a week there, and inviting
other friends to my place to enjoy an extended
weekend. one of the reasons I can’t wait to move in is that I’ll finally have a place in Las Vegas
to put my things. I never minded hotel rooms before, but now my life is ready and waiting for
me in Las Vegas anytime I feel like making the trip. It’s a home, not a vacation.”
Brian’s enthusiasm for his Veer purchase extends beyond his future residence’s walls,
however. As with all CityCenter owners, Brian’s Veer home gives him access to a host of
amenities throughout the CityCenter development. from fine dining and shopping to endless
entertainment options, he describes his future home as “season tickets to seats on the
50-yard line.”
with Veer’s grand opening quickly approaching, Brian can hardly control his excitement
for taking ownership of his new residence. how soon does he anticipate making his first trip
to Las Vegas to live the CityCenter lifestyle? “well, on whatever day they release my residence,
I anticipate I’ll be there about an hour later.” ::

We interviewed Lee Lundquist, designer with
Robb & Stucky Interiors, to give our future
residents some insights on making the most
of their future CityCenter residence. In this
issue, we’re focusing on sustainable living and
how to choose furnishings that complement
both your home and the environment.
Reclaim, recycle, renew—choose pieces 1.
made from reclaimed woods, fabrics from
recycled fibers, cushions from fiber made
from recycled plastics.
opt for upholstery made with soy-based 2.
cushions which cut back on the amount of
polyurethane in your home.
Choose frames made of hardwoods from 3.
sustainable harvested forests . They
will carry the seal of the fSC (forest
Stewardship Council) which means that for
every tree cut down, a new one is planted
in its place.
Look for upholstery that has springs made 4.
from recycled metals.
Avoid furniture with particle board as 5.
formaldehyde, a volatile organic compound
(VoC), is a key component.
Buy locally if possible to reduce the 6.
carbon footprint caused from product
transportation.
Ask for natural fabrics—cotton, linen, 7.
bamboo, wool and silk.
Seek furnishings finished with water-based 8.
or plant oil-based products to cut down on
VoCs in your home.
