EASA program will be available online on February 24th , 2013. Students may register on-line (www.sas.edu.sg/easa) for up to 3 classes

o Online registration for First choice class opens March 3rd at 10 am Online registration for Second & Third choice classes open from March 6th (midnight of March 5th) to March 14th. Registrations received on March 11 onwards will be subject to a $15.00 late fee. Late registrations will not be accepted after March 14th. EASA does not keep a ‘wish list’ during term 3 registrations Minimum and maximum student enrollments are listed with each class description. There will be no refunds after you have paid and registered your child in a class (once you have received the receipt from

PayPal). There will be no switches (transfers to a different EASA class) after your registration is confirmed (once you have received

All children must report to the PS or IS cafeteria directly after school at 3 pm. Cafeteria supervision is provided until 3:15 when the EASA classes begin. Primary School students may be picked up at 4:15 pm or ride the 4:25 pm Primary EASA Bus (Registration online), or walk home if written parental permission is given via [email protected]. Intermediate School students may walk home, be picked up or ride a 4:25 pm Student Activity Bus (YOU must contact the Bus Office @ 6360-6770 to arrange for the Activity Bus) after confirmed enrollment in an EASA class. Please notify the EASA office (room i-112) or at [email protected] if your child will be absent from their EASA class

This program has been designed to

provide SAS students from Grade 1 and 2

opportunities to develop their Spanish

through cooking. This program is

interactive and will complement the

school’ Spanish Curriculum. It will be

taught completely in Spanish. The

children will also learn basic cooking

skills appropriate for their age and how to

work safely in the kitchen. In order to get

the most out of this program, it is

recommended that the students attend all

three terms. Each term includes seven to

eight sessions with a different Latin

American and Spanish recipes.

Mandarin Out-of-the-Box – Kinder/1st (open only for returning Term 1 & 2 students)

This program provides opportunities for SAS Elementary students to learn Mandarin in a fun playing environment. Students will be engaged in activities that are rich in visual cues and focus on developing communicative enjoyment and confidence. The main focus will be speech using lots of exciting hands-on activities. The program has been designed as a continuous three term curriculum and students are encouraged to participate for the entire three terms to get maximum benefit from the program. International Soccer Academy soccer programme for kids from 4-5 yrs old. In our programme young players are exposed to a great variety of recreational motor activities, not just soccer. The purpose is to have exciting, interesting and fun filled activities to enhance the children’s agility, coordination, movement, balance & overall control of their body. Our programme will include simple introductions to the soccer game and which will be taught through fun filled activities. The aim for this programme is for young children to become more active & agile and to provide a platform for them to be naturally more athletic in the future.

Our girls-only soccer program aims to ensure that your daughter gets an opportunity to develop her skills and coordination without being afraid of having to ‘beat the boys’. Our program aims to develop a love of sport by developing self-confidence in their abilities. Coaches will create fun practices and exercises to build their skills, tactics and games to develop players’ strategy and technical ability. Yoga for Children – KG/1st/2nd Grade

Students will learn the skills, rules, and basic strategies needed to play floor hockey, pillow hockey and scooter hockey. Each session will include skill practice and game playing time. These exciting games are a great way to practice teamwork, have fun and get some exercise too!

Children’s yoga is a natural and healthy way to exercise, relax, focus and strengthen the mind, body and spirit connection. Beginners only!! You don’t have to fall to learn to skate safely. Isk8ed School instructor teaches a new method so students learn to balance first then learn to skate on any terrain, including slopes and wet floor. Students will also learn to skate effortlessly on the ‘outside edges’ instead of stroking outward on the ‘inside edges.’ Skates and safety gear will be provided.

Touch rugby is a fast moving, minimal contact, evasive game that is played throughout the world by boys and girls. The game is similar to rugby but without tacking, scrumming, mauling, lineouts and kicking. This fast, simple and exciting game promotes the fundamentals skills of running, handling, evasion and support play, whilst developing basic principles of attack and defense. Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art, which teaches students how to use hands, elbows, knees and legs for self-defense. It teaches children good discipline, healthy lifestyle, good morals and also helps them to make new friends. This class aims to build a solid foundation for children to understand and enjoy Karate.

Students will learn how use the strength of their upper body and hips and add it into punches or kicks. Classes are taught by a dedicated Japanese Karate Association qualified 4th Dan black belt instructor who has been coaching for more than 15 years.

Kendo (Japanese Fencing) 1st to 5th Grade Your child will gain many benefits from this traditional Japanese martial art, including: improved hand-eye coordination and reflexes, enhanced speed and dexterity and developed sense of timing and precision. Kendo carries the principles of samurai swordsmanship cultivating your child’s mind, body, and spirit. Kendo is a fast sport that will build your child’s endurance, obedience and character.

New students: it is compulsory for students to purchase a Shinai (bamboo sword) from the coach ($65). Returning students: it is advisable to purchase complete Kendo Uniform ($80) & Armor.

This introductory course will focus on the values of Taekwondo, the fundamentals of Taekwondo stances, kicking and hand techniques for situational defense. Course taught by an International certified Taekwondo Instructor who is a 7th degree black belt. Instructor will assess new students that already have belts from other countries/organizations and he will determine what EASA Taekwondo class these students should attend. Acting Antics – Drama Performance 1st/2nd Grade Does your child love to dress up, act and perform? Acting Antics offers students the opportunity to participate in a full theatrical live experience. These fun filled classes give students the opportunity to discover dramatic potential, learn basic acting skills, develop self–expression & and improve confidence. EASA students will audition, rehearse & perform in a fully costumed play. Every student gets a role with dialogue and fabulous costumes.

"Caterpillar's Voice" - To be brave is a very easy thing when you are talking about it, but to be brave when it matters, now that is another thing, as Elephant, Rhinoceros, Jackal, Cheetah & Monkey find out. The Hares have gone for breakfast with their friends, the Rabbits. But while they are gone someone enters their cave. Who could it be and what do they want? Where does Lion fit into the scene of things and what could Caterpillar and Frog possibly be doing?

In Imagine More..Drama Puppet edition children will be co-creating a story, developing a character and performing with self-made puppets. The purpose of these classes is to foster each child's confidence in expressing him/herself verbally and non-verbally as a performer. We create a safe environment to try new things, challenge oneself and learn from and with friends. Parents receive a weekly summary of the class as a way to participate in each step of our exciting learning adventure. In the last session families will be invited to watch their show.

Mad Scientists 4th/5th Grade

This reading workshop is designed to give readers a boost that will improve their general reading skills and their comprehension abilities. Each reader's ability will be assessed and then an individualized program will be designed to extend their personal skill level. Readers will also be introduced to a wide variety of reading genres that will stimulate their interest in reading while improving their general knowledge. The aim of the sessions will be to produce readers who are more confident, more competent, more able in reading assessment activities and, most importantly, gain more enjoyment from reading. Students can attend Reading Workshop twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays). Please note that this program is not intended to be a holistic approach for students with significant reading deficiencies.


Our young chefs will prepare and enjoy several recipes while learning about different foods and kitchen tools. Children will be responsible for preparing, cooking and cleaning up during each session. Each participant will receive a collection of child-friendly recipes including those made during the Kids Can Cook sessions. The focus of this session will be on easy snacks and desserts students could recreate at home. Students will also learn the basics of Cross Stitch and work on a simple project of their own design using patterns to guide them. Most weeks the cross stitching will be done as the prepared food is cooking and after the cleanup has been completed. This is not a nut free environment. Students with food allergies are not encouraged to sign up for this class. A few recipes may be repeated from previous terms.
