Initial setup:

ConnectthesuppliedmainspoweradaptortotheDCpowerinputonthecontrollerandthentoasuitablemainsvoltagesupply(100-240VAC~50/60Hz).ConnecttheLEDfixturesusingstandard3-pinDMXdatacables.FollowthesetupprocedureforthecontrollerfirstbeforepoweringontheLEDfixtures.

Thecontrollercanbeusedtocontrol3or4colourLEDproductseachwithorwithoutadimmerchannel.

DMX channel assignment:

ThecontrollerhaspresetDMXstartaddressesforeachofthefourfixtures.PleasesetyourfixturetothefollowingDMXaddresses.Pleasenote:IftwoormorefixturesaresettothesameDMXaddresstheywillreceivethesameDMXcommands.Thecontrollercanbesetuptoaddressfourindividual3channelRGBfixturesaddressedsequentially(001,004,007and010)orifthefixturesfeatureRGBWorRGBwithadimmerchanneltheycanbeaddressedwithsufficientspacingbetweenthefixturestoaccountfortheextrachannels(001,017,033and049).

Operation:

TheEasiLED4hasthreemainmodesofoperation:Manual,AutoorSoundcontrol.UsetheAuto,MusicorFader/Preset&User/Bankbuttonstoswitchbetweeneachusermode.TheLEDindicatorswillilluminatenexttoeachofthebuttonstoconfirmtheusermodeselected.TheManualmodeisindicatedbythefader/presetgreenLED.

Afterpoweron,thecontrollerwillrestartinthelastusedmodeassumingthelastusedmodewasactivefor10secondsormore.

Pleasenote:Inallmodes,theblackoutbuttonmaybepressedtoturnoffthelightoutput.TheredLEDnexttoblackoutbuttonwillflashtoindicateblackoutisactive.Blackoutwilloperateregardlessofthefixture/groupselection.

Manual mode:

ManualModecanbeusedforselectionofcolourseitherforadhocscenesorforcreatingscenesbeforerecordingintosavedscenesorchases.SwitchthecontrollertoManualMode(indicatedbyGreenLEDbytheFader/Presetbutton)andfollowthestepslistedbelow:

-Setthecoloursofthefixtures/groupsusingtherotaryselectors

-Adjusttheintensity(brightness)ofthefixtures/groupsusingFaders1-4ensuringthemasterdimmerisalsoactive.

-Turnthefadetimecontrolanti-clockwiseto“0”forinstantcolourchangesorrotateclockwisetoincreasethefadetimebetweencolours.

Saving scenes:

AftersettingthesceneaspertheManualModeinstructionsyoucansavethesceneandatthesametimesavethesceneasasinglestepintheselectedchase(1to12).SelecttheChaseandScenethenquicklypressthe“Save/Delete”button,thegreen“Save/Delete”LEDwillflashquicklythreetimestoconfirm.

Deleting scenes:

AftersettingthesceneaspertheManualMode.SelecttheChaseandScenethenpressandholdthe“Save/Delete”button,alloftheLEDsonthecontrollerwillflashtoconfirm.

Scene playback:

PresstheFader/PresetbuttontoilluminatetheorangeLEDconfirmingthecontrollerisnowinUser/Bankmode.Selectthechaseandthenscenerequired.SceneplaybackmaybemanuallyadvancedbyselectingscenesindividuallyusingtherotarySceneselector,ortheymaybeadvancedbyeitherSoundorAutomodes.




01) Rotary colour selectors:Twelve,presetcoloursselectableusingsimplerotarycontrolswhenthecontrollerisusedinManualMode.

02) Fixture dimmer controls:Fourdimmerfaders,eachforcontrollingtheintensityforafixture/group.

03) Chase selector (12 settings):Thecontrollercanstoreupto12chases,eachchasemaybebuiltusingupto12scenesperchase.Usetherotaryselectortochoosetherequiredchase.

04) Preset/User bank selector:UsethisbuttontoswitchbetweenManual/FadermodeandUser/Bankmodes.

05) Scene selector (12 settings):Thecontrollercanstoreupto12scenes,eachchasemaybebuiltusingupto12scenesperchase.Usetherotaryselectortochoosetherequiredsceneafterselectingthechase.

06) Save/Delete button:WhenthecontrollerisinManualmode,aquickpresswillsaveaselectedscene,confirmedbythreegreenflashesoftheLED.Pressandholdtodeleteaselectedscene,allLEDsonthecontrollerwillflashtoconfirmscenedeletion.

07) Master dimmer:Activeinallmodes,themasterdimmercontrolcanbeusedtoadjusttheintensityofallfixturesconnectedtothecontroller.

08) Speed control:ThespeedcontrolcanbeusedtoadjustthechasespeedwhenthecontrollerisinAutomode.Turnclockwisetoincreasethechasespeed.

09) Fade time control:Activeinallmodes,theFadeTimecontrolcanbeusedtoadjustfadetimebetweenallfunctionsonthecontrollerincludingmanualcolourselections.Forinstantchangesthefadetimemustbeturnedfullytotheleft(anti-clockwise).

10) Strobe speed control:TheStrobeSpeedControlcanbepreselectedaheadofStrobeModeactivation.Turnclockwisetoincreasethestrobefrequency.

11) Blackout button:PresstheBlackoutbuttontoactivateblackoutforallfixturescontrolledbytheEasiLED4controller.Whileactivated,BlackoutmodewillbeconfirmedbyaredLEDflashingnexttothebutton.

12) TAP/Tempo button:TheTAP/Tempocontrolallowstheusertoselecttheplaybackspeedforchasesintime.WhileinAutomode,presstheTAP/Tempobuttonaminimumofthreetimestosetthedesiredplaybackspeed.



13) Auto mode button:

SelectUser/BankmodethenpresstheAutobuttontoactivateAutomodeforscene/chaseplayback.PlaybackspeedinAutomaybecontrolledbyeithertheTap/TemportheSpeedcontrol.

14) Sound mode button:SelectUser/BankmodethenpresstheSoundbuttontoactivateSoundmodeforscene/chaseplayback.Toadjusttheinternalmicrophonesensitivity,pressandholdtheSoundbuttonandusethefadecontrol.

15) Strobe button:TheStrobefunctioncanbemadeactiveinallmodesacrossthecontroller.PresstheStrobecontrolbuttontoactivateStrobemode,theredLEDwillilluminatetoconfirmStrobemodeisactive.Thecontrolforstrobeislatchingandwillremainactiveuntilthebuttonispressedasecondtime.

16) 3-Pin DMX output:3-PinXLRsocketoutput.Pin1=Ground,Pin2=data–ve,Pin3=data+ve

17) DMX start address:ThecontrollerhaspresetDMXstartaddressesforeachofthefourfixtures.PleasesetyourfixturetothefollowingDMXaddresses.Pleasenote:IftwoormorefixturesaresettothesameDMXaddresstheywillreceivethesameDMXcommands.Thecontrollercanbesetuptoaddressfourindividual3channelRGBfixturesaddressedsequentially(001,004,007and010)orifthefixturesfeatureRGBWorRGBwithaDimmerchanneltheycanbeaddressedwithsufficientspacingbetweenthefixturestoaccountfortheextrachannels(001,017,033and049).

18) DMX channel selection:ThecontrollercanbeusedtocontroluptofourfixturesfromRGBthroughtoRGBW+Dimmer.Slidetheswitchtothepositionsuitthefixturesbeingused.Pleasenote:Tooperatecorrectly,allfixturesshouldsharethesameDMXchannelallocation.

19) Internal microphone/external audio select:Thecontrollercanbetriggeredeitherviatheinternalmicrophoneorfromanexternallinelevelaudiosource.

20) Audio input: Unbalanced6.35mm(1/4”)jacksocketforlinelevelaudioinput.

21) DC power input (centre +ve):

Centrepositivetypeconnection.9-12VDC,300mAminimumregulatedtype.

22) Power on/off switch:

Usethisswitchtopowerthecontrolleron/off.


Setting the DMX address:

TheDMXmodeenablestheuseofauniversalDMXcontroller.Eachfixturerequiresa“startaddress”from1-511.Afixturerequiringoneormorechannelsforcontrolbeginstoreadthedataonthechannelindicatedbythestartaddress.Forexample,afixturethatoccupiesoruses7channelsofDMXandwasaddressedtostartonDMXchannel100,wouldreaddatafromchannels:100,101,102,103,104,105and106.Chooseastartaddresssothatthechannelsuseddonotoverlap.E.g.thenextunitinthechainstartsat107.

DMX 512:

DMX(DigitalMultiplex)isauniversalprotocolusedasaformofcommunicationbetweenintelligentfixturesandcontrollers.ADMXcontrollersendsDMXdatainstructionsformthecontrollertothefixture.DMXdataissentasserialdatathattravelsfromfixturetofixtureviatheDATA“IN”andDATA“OUT”XLRterminalslocatedonallDMXfixtures(mostcontrollersonlyhaveadata“out”terminal).

DMX linking:

DMXisalanguageallowingallmakesandmodelsofdifferentmanufacturestobelinkedtogetherandoperatefromasinglecontroller,aslongasallfixturesandthecontrollerareDMXcompliant.ToensureproperDMXdatatransmission,whenusingseveralDMXfixturestrytousetheshortestcablepathpossible.TheorderinwhichfixturesareconnectedinaDMXlinedoesnotinfluencetheDMXaddressing.Forexample;afixtureassignedtoaDMXaddressof1maybeplacedanywhereinaDMXline,atthebeginning,attheend,oranywhereinthemiddle.WhenafixtureisassignedaDMXaddressof1,theDMXcontrollerknowstosendDATAassignedtoaddress1tothatunit,nomatterwhereitislocatedintheDMXchain.

DATA cable (DMX cable) requirements (for DMX operation):

ThisfixturecanbecontrolledviaDMX-512protocol.TheDMXaddressissetonthebackoftheunit.YourunitandyourDMXcontrollerrequireastandard3-pinXLRconnectorfordatainput/output,seeimagebelow.

Note: DMX cable must be daisy chained and cannot be split.

Notice:

Besuretofollowthediagramsbelowwhenmakingyourowncables.DonotconnectthecablesshieldconductortothegroundlugorallowtheshieldconductortocomeincontactwiththeXLRsoutercasing.Groundingtheshieldcouldcauseashortcircuitanderraticbehaviour.

Special note:

Line termination:

Whenlongerrunsofcableareused,youmayneedtouseaterminatoronthelastunittoavoiderraticbehaviour.

Using a cable terminator will decrease the possibilities of erratic behaviour. (3-pin - Order ref: CABL90, 5-pin - Order ref: CABL89)

5-pin XLR DMX connectors:

Somemanufacturesuse5-pinXLRconnectorsfordatatransmissioninplaceof3-pin.5-pinXLRfixturesmaybeimplementedina3-pinXLRDMXline.Wheninsertingstandard5-pinXLRconnectorsintoa3-pinlineacableadaptormustbeused.Thediagrambelowdetailsthecorrectcableconversion.

Terminationreducessignaltransmissionproblemsandinterference.ItisalwaysadvisabletoconnectaDMXterminal,(resistance120Ohm1/4W)betweenpin2(DMX-)andpin3(DMX+)ofthelastfixture.
