YESTERDAY ...

The yearbook staff felt no one would be more deserving to dedicate our 1979 Shuttle to than Mr. Martin Gottlieb, even though he is no longer affiliated with Shaw High School Staff.

Mr. Gottlieb has served for 9 years as Associate Principal at Shaw. During his time here he was well liked by both students and faculty .

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received all of his early education . He is a graduate of our very own Shaw High School. He furthered his education at Ohio State where he received a BA in Sociology and a BS in Education. He received his MA from Case Western Reserve University. He has done further studies at St. John College, Akron University and John Carroll University.

When asked, "Did the students at Shaw like you?" He replied, "Well, if they didn't I wouldn't have been there that long." Why did you leave Shaw and come to Kirk? His reply "I heard they needed somebody here to get a few things done.

Good luck to you Mr. Gottlieb at Kirk and we miss you. Thanks for what you have done at Shaw.

TODAY

The Shuttle Staff felt that this year a dual dedication would be most appropriate. Basically because the man to fill the position of Associate Principal i one who has served in the East Cleveland chool System for a number of years, Mr. Stephen Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd was born in Pitt burg, Pennsylvania where he received all of hi early education. While in high school, he played football for four years.

After completion of high chool, he attended Roche ter Institute of Technology, Roche ter, ew York, whe.e he received a BA degree in Printing. He also played football while in college.

Upon completion of college, he married his wife, Mary. Later he served a two year stretch with the avy. Thereafter, a daughter, Monica was born to them. At present, Monica is six years old.

Mr. Lloyd's educational experience- Printing teacher in the Cleveland and Ea t Cleveland chool Systems. He came to Shaw in 1970. He became a nit Principal in 1971. He served in this capacity for the last 7 years.

In 1970 he attended Cleveland tate to get hi MA.

In 1978 he was chosen by a panel to become Associate Principal of Shaw High chool, taking Mr. Gottlieb's position.

Mr. Lloyd welcomes the change to work with teachers, e pecially the new teacher as well a the tudent . He feels that he will be very beneficial in a i ting the new teacher .

His interests are athletic , mu ic and traveling.
