East Rochester School District 2018 Summer Swim Information
Summer Swimming Lessons (Mondays-Fridays) Classes will be taught by certifiedinstructors using a proven curriculum, aligned with skills progression and objectives. Class levels require skills progression, building on techniques and endurance taught at previous levels. Teachers reserve the right to place swimmers where theywill be most successful. Suggested age levels with class descriptions are:Water Babies – 6 months-3 years (11-11:30 am Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays): A parent/child program designed for youngsters who have a fear of the water, or separation anxiety; the parent must get into the pool with his/her childLittle Guppies – ages 3-5 years (11-11:30 am Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays): A beginner-level program designed to help youngsters feel comfortable in the water and enjoy the pool safelyLevel 1 – ages 4-6: Water exploration – introduction to water skills and breathingLevel 2 – ages 5-7: Aquatic fundamentals – for those who can fully submerge their face, and have buoyancy skills on front and backLevel 3 – ages 7-9: Stroke development – for those who can fully submerge their head, flutter kick on back and front, and float on their ownLevel 4 – ages 8-11: Stroke improvement – for those who have a coordinated front crawl, backstroke, and elementary backstroke kickLevel 5 – ages 9-12: Stroke refinement – for those who have good rotary breathing with front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, side-stroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly.Level 6 – ages 11+: Personal water safety – advanced swimming, safety, diving, and lifeguard readiness.
Certified Swim Lessons – starting Monday, June 25at the heated Kate Gleason Memorial Outdoor Pool (109 East Ave.)
There will be three sessions for lessons; each sessionwill be three weeks long. The fee for district residents
for each session is $70. The non-district resident fee is $80.

Online Convenience!The East Rochester School District continues to offer an online payment processing system,
Rec1, to allow easy and convenient online access to purchase and pay for summer swimpasses and lessons. Payments with a credit or debit card can be made through a linkon the district’s Website, www.erschools.org. To ensure your security, Rec1 does not
store personal bank or credit card information. Save $5 by registering online!(Please note: if you’ve registered with Rec1 in prior years, your name is already in the system!)
If you prefer to use the paper form, we request that it be dropped off at the High School Main Office, but any school office is acceptable. Registration will be taken on afirst-come, first-serve basis, and participation by non-district residents is subject to
availability. Additional forms can be picked up at school offices or online atwww.erschools.org, or you may call 248-6370 to request one.
