T he artists and makers of Eastbourne have been opening their
homes and studios since 2008 and this year are ‘open for business’
over the middle two weekends in April.
Along with established ‘regular’ artists who have been involved from
the beginning, this year we have several new participants including left
handed Pam Richmond who, having suffered a stroke over 15 years
ago has learned to paint using her right hand. Her work is on show in
Lawns Avenue (near The Lamb) on the 22nd and 23rd April. You can
also visit one of the town’s latest art initiatives, the Devonshire
Collective, with 3 locations including cafe, gallery and studios in
Seaside and Seaside Road.
This year again there are 2 distinct
trails: Old Town & Ocklynge and Town
Centre, (plus one venue in Norman’s
Bay!) The numbers in grey circles
correspond with the location number
on the maps and it’s best to plan your
route before you begin. If you’re
driving, you may find it easier to park
your car and walk between the venues on foot,
particularly in the Town Centre.
Some venues take credit cards and direct bank
transfers can always be arranged. Paypal can be
useful too.
Most Open Houses are open both weekends,
typically from 11am - 5 pm but do check
details as some open earlier and stay open later.
We hope you have a wonderful time engaging with
Eastbourne artists this spring!

now aged 91, had a
stroke and lost
use of her left side.
As a part of her recovery
Pam taught herself to paint
right handed.
The exhibition
is a celebration of Pam’s
work and of her
determination
to continue her passion for
painting. All funds raised
will go to charity.
