darwinfestival.org.au TAG #DARWINFESTIVAL TO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE!

BIRDS EYE VIEW: PRISON STORIESStep beyond the stereotypes and razor wire to meet the women of Sector Four. Rocket. Aimee. Taise. Kaye. Deanne. Jess. Julie. Karen. Noelene. Naomi. Kirsten. Tegan. Yasmine. Kym. Sophie and Sarafina. Walk with them as they share their stories in a co-created journey that asks you to listen deeply and traverse the walls between us.

‘We’re the jail birds and we wanna give people a new perspective.’

When you hear the call to muster, place your headsets on.

If you need assistance, raise your hand.

This is a fully immersive experience and you will be required to walk over uneven surfaces, stand for periods of time and enter cramped spaces. We recommend you remove bulky items and bring a drink bottle.

There are references to abuse, drug use and suicide so please take care while listening.

Produced by StoryProjects, this event is part of InsideOUT, a two-year audio storytelling project that supports incarcerated women to share their stories with audiences inside and outside prison.

Proudly supported by the Northern Territory Government, the Australia Council for the Arts, Prison Songs Impact Campaign, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern

Territory and Audiocraft.
