• Easter is first and foremost a celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection.
• It is the most important celebration of the Christian calender.• The week before Easter is called 'holy week' and includes:- Maundy Thursday - the day of the last supper- Good Friday - the day Jesus died- Easter Sunday - the day Jesus rose from the dead.
Lent• Lent is period of time which begins on ash wednesday and
lasts for approximately 40 days, until Easter.
• During Lent, many christians give up luxuries in order to prepare themselves the holy day.
The Easter Bunny• Many british children are led to
believe that the Easter Bunny brings their chocolate eggs.
Symbolism• Why the Egg?The egg represents the
concept of new life.Some also believe the egg to
represent the stone that was used to seal the entrance of Jesus' tomb.
