In Christ alone, my hope is found. He is my light, my strength, my song. This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace when fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ, I stand. In Christ alone, who took on flesh. Fullness of God in helpless babe. This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save. Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied. For every sin on Him was laid, here in the death of Christ,I live. There in the ground, His body lay. Light of the world, by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave, He rose again. And as He stands in victory, sin's curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ! On Christ the Solid Rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand! On Christ the Solid Rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand!No guilt in life, no fear in death. This is the power of Christ in me. From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand. Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ, I stand! Here in the power of Christ, I stand! Here in the power of Christ, I stand!

†the gosPel Rev. Connie BarnettNow after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone, and sat upon it. His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Lo, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Hail!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.” (Matthew 28:1 - 10)This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Our lives have more than ever before – but “more” doesn’t automatically make them better. We own more, but that also means we have more things to maintain, repair, clean, and replace. We have busier schedules, but that also means less time for things that really matter. Having more can be stressful. Giving up things like busyness, resentment, and worry can lead us to the life that Christ wants for us. Freeing our lives from clutter gives us space and energy to be the people we are called to be.

St. Luke’s is offering a helping hand to those who have been impacted by COVID-19. For many, sudden unemployment has put a tremendous strain on their ability to put food on the table. We are partnering with our church family, OG&E, the Oklahoma City-County Health Department, local restaurants, Feed the Children and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to provide fresh produce and meals to keep children, seniors and families fed during this crisis. Below are some of the ways we are helping our neighbors and how you can volunteer.

Food ProgramsMobile MarketIn partnership with the Oklahoma City County Health Department, OG&E, and local restaurants we will be able to distribute fresh produce and family meals to families in need. The Mobile Market truck will distribute meals to families who have expressed a need and have applied for help. Delivery of food will be to select locations around the metro on Tuesdays and Fridays. Each week we hope to be helping over 5,000 people. If you or someone you know needs help please fi ll out the form “I Need Help” online at stlukesokc.org/help.

Meals on Wheels Oklahoma CityA hot meal is available to seniors in Oklahoma City as part of the Meals on Wheels program. Participants must be 60 years of age or older and must require signifi cant assistance to leave their home. If you or a loved one are 60 years of age or older, homebound, and have no one who can prepare meals, you may apply to receive home-delivered meals by completing the application online at endinghungerokc.org.

Volunteer OpportunitiesVolunteers are needed throughout the week to help with St. Luke’s Food Outreach Ministry. Volunteers will follow CDC guidelines for health and safety, however to follow social distancing guidelines, we must limit the number of volunteers each shift. Don’t worry if you aren’t called for a shift immediately, we will have more opportunities opening up daily! You can sign up for one or more areas to help. To sign up please go to stlukesokc.org/help and fi ll out the form “I CAN HELP” and you will be contacted with additional steps to follow.

Easter OfferingEach year St. Luke’s collects an Easter Offering to help missions in the community and at St. Luke’s. This year in addition to the missions we support, we are creating an Emergency Fund to help those in our Family of Faith who are struggling due to the current physical and economic situations surrounding the Coronavirus Pandemic. All gifts made to the Easter Offering will go to bless lives in our community and around the world. Donations can be made by online giving (stlukesokc.org/give), texting to give (text “STL” to 73256 and follow the links), or mailing in your gifts (222 NW 15th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73103) or calling the Finance Offi ce at 232-1371.

Pen Pal ProgramWe are starting a new “pen pal program” to help connect members of different generations in our family of faith. As we connect, we can pray for each other and kids will learn the importance of writing letters to others as a way to share God’s love. If you or your child are interested in participating, you can sign up online at stlukesokc.org and then you will be assigned a pen pal.

We are sharing Words of Encouragement and inspiration throughout the week on our Facebook page (facebook.com/stlukesokc) and on the website (stlukesokc.org.) You can also search for our YouTube channel to see all of these videos and other new videos daily.
