Household Level Water Treatment Systems Integrated into Existing Home

Based Care (HBC) Program

Project holders: International Federation Of Red Cross And Red Crescent Societies Watsan Unit And Regional Delegation Nairobi With Kenya Red Cross Society

Location: Siaya And Kisumu Branches Of Kenya Red Cross

Target: Home Based Care Clients, Affected Family Members And Neighbours Who Have No Access To A

Sustainable Safe Water Supply.

Beneficiaries: 15000 Households Approx: 7500 People Time scale : 15 Months (Water Treatment Supplied For 12

Months)



ObjectivesGOAL: Contribute to Reduction in Water Borne

Diseases in HBC Program Clients and Affected Family Members and Neighbours in Target Population by the End of the Project

Specific objectives Establish An Appropriate Method Of Delivering Household

Water Treatment Systems (HWTS) For Target Communities. Improve Knowledge And Skills Of Volunteers Of Community

Home Base Care Programs In HWTS and WASH (Water ,Sanitation and Hygiene)

Establish The Level Of Acceptance And Adherence Of HWTS By The Targeted Population.

Improve Hygienic Behaviors Related To Water Use At Household Level.

Establish Simple Monitoring And Evaluation System For HWTS

Identify and Strengthen Possible Partnerships In HWTS
