The operating mines may beanalysed and monitored for compliance ofconditions, bearing with movement of wildlifeand until such time they are closed/phasedout.

CSR works (with expenditure of at least twoper cent of the average net profits of thecompany made during the three immediatelypreceding financial years) are carried out asper Company's Act, 2013.CSR expenditure occurred in PandaveswarArea ECL from 01-04-2015 to 30-09-2015 isRs.1578631.00

44. Crushers at the CHP of adequate capacity forthe expansion project shall be operated with

high crushing operations, conveyor system,haulage roads, transfer points, etc.

No CHP exists at South Samla UGP.

45. Mine discharge water outside the Ml, shall be

monitored, particularly for TDS and treated toconform to prescribed levels before dischargeinto the natural environment.

Mine discharge water is analysed on regularbasis by CMPDIL and found to be within thespecified norms of CPCB. Fortnightlyenvironmental monitoring reports areenclosed.

47. The project authorities shall undertake regularrepairing and tarring of roads used for mineral

transportation. A 3tier green belt comprisingof a mix of native species shall be developed

all along the major approach roads.

The roads are regularly repaired and properlytarred. Three tier plantation will be donealong the coal transportation road and aroundthe railway siding.

48. Controlled blasting shall be practiced with use

of delay detonators and only during daytime.

49. A Progressive afforestation plan shall beimplemented covering an area of 6215.5 ha atthe end of mining, which includes reclaimedexternal OB dump area (404.74 ha), internaldump area (1856.54 ha) and Green belt land(364.57 ha) and in township located outsidethe lease by planting native species inconsultation with the local DFO/ AgricultureDepartment. The density of the trees shall bearound 2500 plants per ha. Massiveplantation shall be carried out in open spacesin and around the mine and a 3-tier avenueplantation along the main approach roads tothe mine.

Data thuscollected shall be submitted to the Ministry ofEnvironment & Forests and to the CentralPollution Control Board quarterly within onemonth of monitorinq.

55 The Company shall put up artificialgroundwater recharge measures foraugmentation of groundwater resource if themonitoring indicates a declining trend ofgroundwater table. The project authoritiesshall meet water requirement of nearbyvillage(s) in case the village wells go dry dueto dewaterinq of mine.

Proposal for Rooftop rain water harvestingsystem in Pandaveswar Area Office is underprocess. No case of declining of ground watertable and drying of wells of villagers has beenfound.

3 Four ambient air quality monitoring stationsshall be established in the core zone as wellas in the buffer zone for PMro, PMz.s, SOz,and NOx monitoring. Location of the stationsshall be decided based on the meteorologicaldata, topographical features andenvironmentally and ecologically sensitivetargets in consultation with the State PollutionControl Board. Monitoring of heavy metalssuch as Hg, As, Ni, Cd, Cr, etc. carried outatleast once in six months.

Air quality monitoring is carried out byCMPDIL on fortnightly basis and all desiredparameters are well within the prescribedlimits. Fortnightly monitoring reports areenclosed

8 Monitoring of environmental qualityparameters shall be carried out throughestablishment of adequate number and typeof pollution monitoring and analysisequipment in consultation with the StatePollution Control Board and data got analysisthrough a laboratory recognised under EPARules. 1986.

Monitoring of environmental parameters iscarried out fortnightly by CMPDIL. Laboratoryat CMPDIL, Asansol is having all necessaryfacilities.

I Personnel working in dusty areas shall wearprotective respiratory devices and they shallalso be provided with adequate training andinformation on safety and health aspects.

Protective respiratory devices are provided tothe workers near the dust generating sources.Adequate training and information on safetyand health aspects to workers is providedoeriodicallv.

10 Occupational health surveillance programmeof the workers shall beundertaken periodically to observe anycontractions due to exposure to dust and totake corrective measures, if needed andrecords maintained thereof. The quality ofenvironment due to outsourcing and thehealth and safety issues of the outsourcedmanpower should be addressed by thecomoanv while outsourcinq.

Periodic Medical Examination is carried outfor the workers periodically.

11 A separate environmental management cellwith suitable qualified personnel shall be setup under the control of a Senior Executive,who will report directly to the Head of thecompanv.

Funds for environmental protection as kept inbudget each year are not diverted for otherpurposes.

13 The Project authorities shall advertise at leastin two local newspapers widely circulatedaround the project, one of which shall be inthe vernacular language of the localityconcerned within seven days of the clearanceletter informing that the project has beenaccorded environmental clearance and a copyof the clearance letter is available with theState Pollution control Board and may also beseen at the website of the ministry ofEnvironment & Forests at http://envfor.nic.in.

14 A copy of the environmental clearance lettershall be marked to concerned Panchayat/local NGO, if ?ny, from whom anysuggestion/representation has been receivedwhile processing the proposal. A copy of theclearance letter shall be displayed on thecompanv's website.

Themonitoring data of environmental qualityparameter (air, water, noise and soil) andcritical pollutants such as PM10, PM2.5, SO2and Nox (ambient) and critical sectoralparameters shall also be displayed at theentrance of the project premises and mineoffice and in corporate office and oncompany's website.

17 The project Proponent shall submit sixmonthly compliance reports on status ofcompliance of the stipulated environmentalclearance conditions (both in hard copy and ine-mail) to the respective Regional Office ofthe Ministry, respective Zonal Office's ofCPCB and the SPCB.

The compliance reports on status ofcompliance of the stipulated environmentalclearance conditions (both in hard copy and ine-mail) shall be submitted six monthly to therespective Regional Office of the Ministry,respgctive Zonal Offices of CPCB and theSPCB.

18 The Regional Office of this Ministry located inthe Region shall monitor compliance of thestipulated conditions. The Project authoritiesshall extend full cooperation to the office(s) ofthe Regional Office by furnishing the requisitedata/information/monitorinq reports.

19 The Environmental Statement for eachfinancial year ending 31 March in For-V ismandated to be submitted by the projectproponent for the concerned State PollutionControl Board as prescribed under theEnvironment (Protection) Rules, 1986, asamended subsequently, shall also beuploaded on the company's website alongwith the status of compliance of EC conditionsand shall be sent to the respective RegionalOffices of the MoEFCC bv e-mail.
