OVER 4 GENERATIONS

One of the good things about hosting your own bull sale – it sure makes along winter shorter as one is always looking forward to the next task at hand,taking the necessary step and looking after the details to put your work in frontof a group of astute cattlemen! We strongly feel that this set of bulls we assem-bled this year has made this task very enjoyable.We are positive this is thedeepest in quality and most consistent set of bulls we have ever offered.

We have 4 very strong sire groups all with things to offer. First would bethe Dryland Max 533R sire group, Max continually breeds structurally soundcattle in a moderate package and they are easy doing on both the male and fe-male sides. We now have over 30 Max daughters working in our herd with avery nice set of open heifers to be added in this spring. This will make themcomprising close to a quarter of our herd. They have made and will continue tomake our cowherd stronger. This will be the last set of Max sons available ashe is now currently working in the Curraghdale herd in Ontario.

Next would be a very nice group of sons out of our Main Event herd sire.What a nice job he has done in his first large set of sons. Have a look at hisEPD’s as they very closely mirror the great calving ease sire, SAV Final Answer.

Next would be the Cole Creek Black Cedar 46P sons. This may be thelargest set of Black Cedar sons sold to date in Canada. They may offer achange in genetics to some that you may have already been using. Black Cedar46P has met great reviews in Montana and have strong maternal strengths.

Our last large sire group would be out of a Cole Creek Black Cedar 46Pson that we brought up from Montana. “Cedar” as we call him did a very goodjob in his first set of bulls with a number of his sons being some of our highperformers!

Again we are proud of the way the bulls are presented. They are fresh yet show their genetic potential. They are free moving, withgreat hair and the feet on the bulls look very good as well.

The small group of females we are offering come right out of a group of 60 replacements that were fed together; they were not sortedoff and fed more. The females may be greener than some would like them but they will not have been hurt and will breed well.

Arriving in Canada in the mid 70's I was a young man with a big dream of beingable to farm on my own. A few years after we arrived I was able to rent the BobbyWatton Farm north of Kelso and, at the same time, Edgar Lewis sold me his herd ofblack and red baldy cows, the start of our involvement with the Angus breed. Wenow live just 10 miles East of Moosomin and have a smaller herd of registeredBlack Angus cattle on our farm at Manson. We have nearly always been involvedwith the Angus breed with our commercial herd and then a number of years ago Iwas able to buy some really good cows from the Ottman Dispersal sale, lateradding to them by buying four more cows from Dale who offered me the chanceto buy his Right Time bull to build my cow herd with quality heifers. He did justthat and now half my herd has the Right Time influence of great udders and greatmother cows. The bulls that I have this year are from the Rocking Ox Xrated bullthat I bought from Clint. His background goes back to the easy keeping, moderatecattle from the OCC Ranch in Kansas. He has given me some great calves andtrouble free calving, just what we need in today's beef operations. Terms: The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, or previously arranged

financing. Settlement is to be made following the completion of the sale,

to the clerks of the sale. Animals will not be released until settlement is

made. All monies are in Canadian funds.

DispuTes: Bidding will be re-opened between the parties involved in a

dispute. If there is no advance by either party, the buyer will be the per-

son from which the auctioneer received the last bid. The auctioneer’s de-

cision is final in these cases.

AnnouncemenTs: All announcements made from the block will

take precedence over any printed material from the catalogue. Therefore

buyers should pay close attention for such announcements.

BreeDing guArAnTee: All cattle are sold as sound and right and

sell with a “Responsible Breeder’s Guarantee of Satisfaction”. In the un-

likely event of a dispute, the regular sale terms and conditions, standard

with the Canadian Angus Association shall apply.

sounDness eVALuATion: All bulls will have passed evaluation

for physical & reproductive soundness by a veterinarian. All bulls will be

semen tested prior to delivery and will have be accompanied, at time of

delivery, by a semen certificate that meets or exceeds the CAA standard

of 70% .

risk: Ownership risk to the purchaser commences when the auctioneers

hammer falls. Insurance is available sale day.

LiABiLiTies: All people attending the sale do so at their own risk. Al-
