ore and more people are affected by IHT every year. It used to be a tax that was
the preserve of the very wealthy, but escalating property values in the last ten years have put paid to that.
For single people, Inheritance Tax applies at the top rate of 40% to assets worth over 325,000. This threshold is known as the nil rate band. For married couples and civil partnerships the threshold is 650,000. But the higher 650,000 limit only applies when assets are passed between spouses and civil partners and this gure reduces if any money is passed onto any of your benefactors during your lifetime. There are also other nancial implications to consider, particularly if you are a widow, widower or divorcee.
And with the threshold remaining unchanged by the coalition government and subject to further legislation the
freeze will be extended up to and including the 2017/2018 tax year, more people could get sucked in as the minimum IHT threshold usually increases at a rate equivalent to at least ination.
Dale Murten of Dale Murten Wealth Management, a local Associate Partner Practice of St. Jamess Place Wealth Management, is concerned that most people do not understand the implications of IHT.
Its clear that people are confused by IHT policy and many mistakenly believe they are unlikely to be affected by it, he said. And he is also concerned about a potentially more serious knock-on effect.
A Will* is vital in helping mitigate IHT, said Dale. Without a proper Will, people run the risk of their estate being severely reduced through IHT and also leaving

themselves exposed to the ravages of long term care costs later in life. Its now more important than ever to seek professional advice and establish how you can protect your hard earned assets.

Dear LizI keep getting infections, have noenergy and always feel poorly.Every time I think I'm starting toget better, I come down withanother virus or ailment. I feelvery low and just never seem tobe in full health these days, whichis really getting me down. Is thereanything that I can do to try andhelp myself?
Dear ChristopherIt sounds like your immune system is low. The immune system isthere to fight infections and prevent them from causing trouble inthe body. It is important to have a strong and healthy immunesystem. Reflexology mentioned above is a very good therapy tohelp you. For those with a tendency to suffer infections, areflexologist would work on the lymphatic system reflexes whichwould help strengthen the immune system in the body, thereforehelping it to overcome the infection present and be more ready tofight future infections. If the immune system is strong, then the bodyis less likely to succumb to infection.
Reflexology is available with me at The Vanilla Rooms Bawtry.

Many people have contacted Lizfrom Elizabeth Ann Therapies askingabout what REFLEXOLOGY can doand how it works.
I've found that reflexology is enjoying increasing popularity, as itis an excellent way to improve and maintain your health bynatural, drug-free treatment. Generally we are more healthand fitness conscious that we used to be and reflexology isjust one of the natural methods by which we can achieve theaim of good health.
It is a gentle form of natural healing that involves treatment bymassage to the reflex areas, which are in the feet and hands. As thisoffers a way of treating the whole body, it can help a wide range ofdisorders, from digestive problems, kidney problems, hormonalproblems, to arthritis and numerous conditions.
It is a treatment that is suitable for every age from children tothe elderly, men and women. Having been involved with reflexologyfor well over a decade, it is wonderful to see the growing interest insomething that can be helpful to so many people without harmfulside-effects.
It still never ceases to give me enormous pleasure when peoplerespond well to the treatment and are cleared of problems that, often, have been troubling them for many years. Reflexology is verysimple, but it is capable of bringing about remarkably good results.

Casts fantastic newshow aims to tell thestory of Doncasterdown the agesfrom its dancefloors.
ES Entertainment
From first dances at the Co-opBallroom through to smooches atthe Top Rank, boys on one side ofthe floor casting glances to thegirls on the other at Romeo andJuliets, whilst The Beatles play St Jamess baths, the Sex Pistols storm Outlook and Bowierocks Silver Street. Cast, Doncasters newhomegrown production, Dancehall, is thestory of Doncaster from the dancefloor.
After the smash hit successes of The GleeClub and Barry Hines Kes, Dancehall, featuring a community ensemble performingalongside professional actors, is the venueslatest homegrown production in associationwith Right Up Our Street, at Cast from Friday11 Saturday 19 September.
As with all of Casts homegrownproductions the local area and community areat the heart of Dancehall. Research into
Doncasters history and dance hangouts hasbeen taking place in earnest over the pastyear, with artist and dramaturg, GarethMorgan, tasked with realising the history andpersonal stories of Doncasters manydancehalls over the past few decades.
Dancehall is a story for the people ofDoncaster who have lived, loved and dancedthere. However, for me, it isn't a dance show,it's storytelling, where you'd usually have a lineof dialogue spoken by a character telling youwhat's going on we'll have a gesture or move. Were also trying to get all the dance styles inthere - from krumping to quick-step.
You might not be familiar with krumping,but fortunately Gareth is;
Krumping is a high-energetic streetdance, and its a great example of the diversityin the show and how you dont need to befamiliar with any particular style or era, or

even dance at all, toenjoy the show.Throughout thedevelopment processweve been striving tocreate a sense ofnostalgia forDoncasters localliving history regardless if you can do the quickstep or not!
The show will begin in the mid-1930sreflecting how the prosperous market townof the 1920s and one of the largest coalmining areas of the early 20th centurydeveloped through the war years, the rockand roll years, the Swinging Sixties, the strikesof the 1970s and '80s and into Tony Blair'sNew Labour.
Dancehall also explores little known localstories like the opening of the Bembergs
factory in 1931, which wouldlater become ICI. TheGerman textile companyrecruited a workforce ofover 1000 and built ahousing estate and dancehall(Parklands) near WheatleyHall. As Gareth explains, thejourney of the 40 German
families living in the area as experts andforemen is one of the many stories thatDancehall will explore through a recurringtheme of migration.
The German families worked andsocialised alongside their English co-workersand many became friends. However in 1939,at the start of the war, Bembergs was seizedby the government with the Germans eitherrepatriated back to Germany or sent to acontainment camp on the Isle of Man. We
heard the story of two young men who livednext door to each other in Doncaster beforeone was conscripted in 1935 back home inWuppertal, Germany. Toward the end of thewar, the other, now serving in the BritishArmed Forces, was in Wuppertal and learnedof his friend's fate - he had died in Hitler'sRussian campaign.
But there were happier times forDoncaster in the early decades of the 20thcentury were dancehalls were in full swing.
Dancehalls were incredibly popular inthe 1930s. There were the same fads andcrazes that we get today such as theexcitement at the invention of the quickstepin 1929!
After leaving school at 14, many wentstraight into jobs however, they still couldn'tdrink so most dancehalls served tea andbiscuits rather than beer and would start afew hours after when the local shifts endedallowing people to go home and change. Thisis where we find ourselves at the start of theshow, with young people at a dancehall, after ashift, when the music starts and take us all theway though to the venue today.
Gareth and the team at Cast arecontinuing to research and develop the showright up to opening night. So if you have anystories of the Doncaster dancehalls ofyesteryear youd like to share get in touch [email protected].
Dancehall is at Cast, Doncaster from Friday 11 Saturday 19 September. Tickets are 17 / 14concessions* and are available on 01302 303959 and from castindoncaster.com.*Includes 50p per ticket booking fee, not chargedif paying by cash.

As her nails had beenbare for a while, Terri wasadvised to have analmond/point shape. Shaun thenset to work trimming the cuticlesback and buffering the natural nail beforeapplying the Hand & Nail Harmony PerfettoNail Forms, which are designed to fit all nailtypes and are sure to hold in place.
The forms provide consistent c-curvesand have imprinted guidelines for consistentlength and shapes.
The locking tabs provide a controlled fit
on all finger sizes, making them ideal forall nails.
When the forms were applied, Terri wasable to choose her desired nail length. Shaunthen sculpted the false nail with sculptingpowder before filing and buffing. Once dry,the artwork began. From a huge range of
options, Terri chose two nails one shimmery pink gelish and
one black with white nail artthat was expertly createdby hand.
The treatment tooktwo hours in total and itwas a mesmerisingexperience, said Terri. Itwas amazing watching
how talented Shaun is atcreating lovely nails from
what is essentially justpowder! The flowers are
incredible Red 10 do nails as aform of art. The results should last between
six and eight weeks, with infills required everythree to four weeks.

Aurora WellbeingCentres not onlysupport local peopleand their familiesliving with cancerbut, from theircentre on Scot Lanein Doncaster, theyoffer beautytreatments to thegeneral public, too.
Terri visited leadtherapist Shanee Adams atthe centre to get her eyes inshape for her summerholiday. First, her naturallylong and dark eyelashes weretinted with the darkest shade.Once this had taken effect, the solution was wiped offand individual lashes wereglued on. These lashes last upto a week, or longer if theyare well cared for. Terriseyebrows were then tinted and waxed toher desired shape, leaving her with perfectpeepers.
There is a relaxed friendly atmosphereand Shanee keeps you at ease throughoutthe treatment, said Terri She explains whatshe is doing at every stage and offers plentyof aftercare advice too.
Aurora runs on fundraising alone and allmoney collected at the centres is puttowards free holistic and beauty treatmentsfor diagnosed patients. So, you can makeyourself feel good in and out by having yourbeauty treatments at the centres and, in
doing so, helping those inneed.
The free treatmentsfor patients are part of afree package of supportand, along with wellbeingprogrammes, help toraise their self-esteemand confidence. Thereare five centres, each
providingfriendlysupport and acalmingsanctuary, inDoncaster,Mexborough,Worksop andBassetlaw, where highlytrainedtherapists andvolunteersunderstand
how to help people throughout their cancerjourney.
Shanee began volunteering at Aurorabefore becoming employed in 2004. She wasthen diagnosed with cancer and wentthrough the service as a patient so sheknows from personal experience thebenefits of the wellbeing centres. After twoyears of being cancer-free, she returned toAurora as lead therapist.

For a last minute boost of bronze before herholiday, Terri visited StarStyles VersaSpaautomated spray tan booth, which provides anatural-looking tan that lasts up to a week. The private booth allows you to benaked so you wont be left with tanlines, and it fades like a real tan sotheres no danger of unsightlystreaks or patches.
When Terri arrived at StarStyle, the procedure was explained in fullby owner Melanie. She describedhow the booth works, warned thatthe mist can affect asthma and issugar-based so is unsuitable fordiabetes sufferers, and explainedthat it doesn't contain UVprotection.
Terri was then asked todecide what kind of tan she would like.
The instant tan starts developing immediatelyand takes four to six hours to fully develop, and the clear tan which Terri chose startsto develop two hours later, doesnt mark your
clothes and takes six toeight hours to fullydevelop.
Melanie provided ashower cap and footies, moisturized the palms ofTerris hands, and thenshowed her the fourpositions she wasrequired to adopt whilethe solution was beingsprayed.
As it was my firsttime, Melanie stood atthe other side of the
curtain to talk me
through each move, even though the machineprompted me, too, said Terri. It moisturizedfirst, then tanned and then dried me. The fullprocess took around two minutes.
Afterwards, Melanie advised Terri to avoidtell-tale orange palms by washing her handswith water and dabbing dry one hour afterthe treatment, and then washing with soapafter six hours.
StarStyle also offers blow dries, pin ups,Gelish nails, princess parties, Larissa coffeeand a milkshake bar, as well as a hugeselection of unusual gifts at reasonable prices. The current loyalty scheme invites customersto enjoy their sixth tan half price.
