2013 In Review

2013 was a strong year for EastTex Regional CERT (ETRC) membership

growth, while not as strong as 2012, we grew by 182%. The growth was

attributable to the addition of Collin, Hunt and Kaufman counties to the

regional program operation area.

ETRC achieved the following milestones in 2013:

Established a Central Leadership Team (CLT)

Utilized grant monies to fund CERT Kits, Medical Response Kit,

Cribbing Kit, Training, and other tools

Contributed a record 1,628 Hours of volunteer time – Value: $36,744

Developed and Published www.EastTexRC.org

Opened a Face Book Page

Began distributing a monthly ETRC Newsletter

Received use of a ETRC Support Trailer and tow vehicle from Rockwall

County Sheriff’s Office

ETRC established a leadership position Fund Raising and Membership in

2013 which has already began to show results. In 2013 ETRC received the

following donations:

Wal-Mart $50 Gift Card

Personal Donation $200.00

Home Depot $238.00 in tools and flashlights

Winslow’s $3,000.00 Storage Building

Lowe’s $170.00 Two Back Pack Sprayers

David & Donald Butler $400.00 Labor Donation (ERT)

Program Manager Message

ETRC has an aggressive recruiting, training and exercise schedule in

2014. ETRC is enlisting the support of its county Office of Emergency

Management partners to make all Public Safety agencies in the four county

area of operations aware of ETRC and its resources.

Highlights of the 2014 ETRC Schedule include a Wildfire Support Training,

Animal Rescue Training class with instructors from the Texas Animal

Health Commission, Community Drug Intervention and Awareness

education with speakers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and

the 3rd Annual Regional Emergency Response Exercise at Terrell State

Hospital.

We appreciate the support of Rockwall County OEM, Hunt County OEM,

Kaufman County OEM, Collin County OEM, RCCC, area CERT programs

and the ETRC membership.
