1: You must always have a numbersequence to solve.

2: You must have a variable in yournumber sequence.

3: Lets say you have a additionproblem to solve. In order to solve ityou must do the opposite of theproblem so it is subtraction

4: Now you can subtract the prob-lem.

5: Once you finish subtracting. Theanswer you get is the answer for thefirst problem.

6: So, all you have to do forwhatever type of problemis the opposite of theoriginal.

This article will be about

algebra and how to solvealgebra problems.

Algebra is a branch ofdifferent mathematics,using a variety of mathstructures. It was discov-ered by the Babylonians.The Babylonians devel-oped formulas to calcu-late solutions for differentproblems. The wordalgebra comes from theArabic word al-jabr.

Some people say that

some algebra is a littledifficult. Well that personcould be right, dependingon the algebra problem orthe person. Lets look at asimple algebra equation,3+y = 5. There is more

than on way to do this

problem. One way is ac-tually pretty simple, allyou have to do is do theopposite of the equation.5-3 = 2, y = 2. To checkthis problem you have tosubstitute the y and turn itinto the number 2. Thenyou just do 2+3 which isequal to 5. There prettysimple. This is one of theways. The other way hasmore steps. And is maybea bit more confusing thanthis simple way. Lets try

a more complex problem,4x+2=50. So what we aretrying to find out is what xequals. So now we areusing the simple wayagain. But first you haveto do 50-2 which equals

48. Next you have to di-

vide. 48 divided by 4xwhich equals 12. So the xis still there. So what youdo is substitute 12 for x.And the equation wouldlook like this 4(12)+2=50.This is how you check. 4multiplied by 12 whichequals 48, then you haveto add 2 and then you getthe answer 50. Prettyeasy.

Why do I like math? For me, I just like math because it is interesting. I dont reallyhave my favorite subject, but I especially like math. When I was young, I liked numbersbecause it looked really cool and simple, so I love number problem than reading problem.

I felt math was interesting because we use the same numbers to multiply, divide,add, minus, and measure etc. and use the same numbers to learn new method. But,science and other subject are different. We have to learn new chapter that is really differ-ent from the last chapters, so sometime I forget the whole information about last chap-ters. Math is different, when I see the numbers, the numbers reminds me to practice or

just reminds me everything about the last chapter. Finally, math became my friendly sub-ject, which makes me relax to study. Now, when I see the words from the book I reallywant will to give up, but when I see the numbers I want to work on it forever!

Unfortunately, there are some people that hate math like my young sister. Myyoung sister said math is confusing, hard and boring. Her answers were just opposite ofmine. I didnt understand at the first time, so I asked why, but she said she doesnt know.I understand her, because I thought about what Mr. J told us:

Good mathematiciansdont give up.

My younger sister always gives up at hard question and work on easy questions.She had no interest on math.

In Conclusion, as Mr. J told us, if we want to like or to be good at mathematics,dont give up.

Why do people hate or like math???
