Welcome to ONAKA

ONAKA is short for Optimum Nutrition And Kitchen Arts. Our company was conceived from our passion to nurture our family and friends with the best, nutritionally balanced and delicious wholesome food in the world that has gone artificial and highly processed. As the father of medicine, Hippocrates said "Let food be thy medicine we actively promote the healing characteristic of everyday food.

The restaurant’s specialty in Conscious Cuisine is a merging of Asian culinary cultures and traditions with modern Western influence, using only wholesome and selective organic ingredients. Our chef team is dedicated to using all-natural ingredients without artificial additives, chemicals, colourings, flavorings, MSG, preservatives and trans-fats. About 50% of the menu is vegetarian with special focus on Low Glycemic and Gluten-Free options. No pork and lard is served at the restaurant.

We do not count calories. Instead, we advocate a realistic, sensible and pragmatic approach - “Eat Consciously; Live Mindfully” which we hope to inspire our guests to eating in balance and moderation. We use environmental-friendly, biodegradable packaging whenever possible and promotes eco- and social responsibility that benefits humanity.

We bring creativity, passion and personality to the table to make every dining experience unique and authentic. The joy of eating does not rely solely on food. It is the company, the sharing of food and the camaraderie that matters the most. Our unique Grazing Menu is designed to allow our guests to share a variety of dishes and taste new ingredients for the first time, without having to eat an entire dish on his own.

Onaka Conscious Cuisine Explained

The concept of Conscious Cuisine is to encourage our guests to become conscious or mindful of food. It is essentially the art of taking notice and enjoying the unique aroma, flavour, texture, taste, presentation of food, the appreciation, knowledge and understanding of its nutritional health benefits.

We promote Low Glycemic food and use only whole grains, which we adopt a “No White Bread, No White Rice and No White Sugar” policy. Unrefined organic sugar, unrefined brown sugar and palm sugar are used for cooking. Xylitol and agave nectar are occasionally used for desserts and special diets.

Extra-virgin olive oil, coconut oil, grape-seed oil, sesame oil, rice bran oil, peanut oil palm oil and butter are used in moderation. Unhealthy trans-fats are avoided.

We also cater to special dietary needs: Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Egg-free, Vegan, and Vegetarian

Healthier cooking methods are designed to enhance flavours such as baking, boiling, dehydrating, grilling, sautéing, stir-frying, steaming, steam-frying and sous vide. No deep fried foods are served.
