Once lived in by ‘Jethro Tull’ the famous musician and by ‘Deep Purple’ in the late 1970s, “Yellow House” is a Portuguese heritage house built around 1894.
The house is in a typical U-shape, with an inner garden in the middle.
The beautifully maintained structure has walls that are around 60 cm thick and 8 meters high.
All the floors are laid with imported hand made tiles and date back to the mid-1890s.
All the windows are original rosewood, with mother-of-pearl inlays.
The size of property is approximately 5000 sq.mtr, with a built-up area of approximately 600 sq.mtr.

The frontage of the house has an exquisite porch fitted with handmade Italian terracotta floor tiles.
The porch is surrounded by unique iron grills, which carry an image of a male face with moustache. The handrails and pillars made of Burma teak.
The porch faces North, away from the sun, and has an antique Rajasthani cradle.
A richly carved rosewood table at the entrance, carries a beautiful statue of Ganesha.
)e Porch
The living room has six huge French-styled doors that are made from rosewood and fitted with mother-of-pearl pane inlays. The Gothic inspired arches above the doors
are fitted with colored glass panes.
The space is tastefully furnished with a sofa bed that has a custom-made teak wood frame.
The main table is made from banana leaves, with iron legs and the side table is made from the ‘elephant ears’ plant, with iron legs.
The room is also furnished with an antique bench and planter chairs designed by two talented Swiss artists (Soto Décor).
The room also has two antique chairs that are placed in a sitting corner, an exquisite inlaid marble round table and standing lamps that reminiscent of boat sails.
The huge iron lamp, also custom-made by Soto Decor has twelve bulbs. Oil-copies of paintings by a famous artist, adorn the walls.
The room is surrounded by a balcony, which has a view of the garden, the swimming pool and the terrace.
)e Living Room
The Art Deco styled dining table is 16 meters long and can seat at least 8 to 10 persons.
The Art Deco styled sideboard has carved legs that resemble ostrich claws.
The ceiling is fitted with a huge Tiffany styled, umbrella shaped lampshade.
The floor is fitted with Italian handmade tiles.
)e Dining Room
This square shaped airy room has four window-cum-doors made from rosewood and inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
The Gothic inspired arches above the doors are fitted with colored glass panes

A huge antique mirror adorns the wall. The room also has an oil painting of ‘The Sleeping Buddha’ and a Parisienne poster of the Pont Neuf by the artist Cristo.
The room also contains and antique cupboard, a mirror dresser made from teak wood and two night lamps that resemble Elephant heads.
)e Ma$er Be*oom
The office is connected to the master bedroom and the dining room by two Burma teak wood doors.
The square-shaped room that is fitted with a 42” plasma TV, can be used as a bedroom or a TV room.
The Burma teak window overlooks the front garden.
)e Office
The hallway opens out into three bedrooms, one of which is fitted with an antique carved door from Rajasthan.
The works of art in these bedrooms include a copy of an oil painting by Gauguin Tahiti, an original painting by Goan artist Siren Moody, a painting of Buddha by
Theo – a renowned Dutch artist and sculptor.
The hallway also leads to a quaint bathroom with a pink marble floor. At the end of the hallway, is a large antique brass birdcage.
The hallway culminates at the inner garden, the kitchen and a terrace that adjoins the swimming pool.
)e Hallway
The entrance to the kitchen is through a large archway made from hand carved stone.
At the center of the room is a dark green marble table, with Tiffany styled overhead hanging lamps.
The room also contains a washing machine and a dryer.
)e Kitchen
The terrace comprises a large seating area, with a roof supported by two art deco styled pillars. The terrace overlooks the swimming pool and the garden.
The garden is interspersed with coconut trees, banana trees, several varieties of palm trees and two fruit-bearing mango trees.
There is a spare store room beneath the terrace.
)e Terrace & Garden
The terrace overlooks the swimming pool that is fitted withItalian glass mosaic tiles.
The pool also has two fountains and a counter current to swim against.
Two additional small terraces can be converted to seating areas to overlook the pool and the garden or could even accommodate a DJ when hosting a party.
There is a pump room and an extra all tiled bathroom with a shower, adjacent to the pool area.
The property also has a spring well that can supply unlimited quantities of water to fill up the pool and to water the garden, all year round.
