DescriptionThis activity is designed to educate thepracticing pulmonologist and thoracicsurgeon as well as other health careprofessionals in the teaching of endobronchialultrasound (EBUS) and advanced bronchoscopy.The course is designed to offer a comprehensivetraining session in EBUS and advancedbronchoscopy and to allow the participant theopportunity to train with experts in the field.Participants will develop a comprehensive knowledge of the indications and algorithmsfor approaching patients with mediastinal adenopathy and integrate the information fromlecture sessions and hands-on experience to earn a certificate of completion for EBUS.Who Should AttendThis activity is intended for advancing the knowledge of pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons,Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Radiography Technologists interested in theup-to-date care of patients with thoracic malignancy.ObjectivesAfter attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to: Use endobronchial ultrasound to guide mediastinal staging Review lung cancer and mediastinal pathophysiology Discuss in detail the evaluation and management of patients with mediastinal/hilaradenopathy and lung nodules.ACCREDITATION STATEMENTTheJohnsHopkinsUniversitySchoolofMedicineis accredited by the Accreditation Council forContinuing Medical Education to providecontinuing medical education for physicians.CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENTThe Johns Hopkins University School ofMedicine designates this live activity for amaximum of 12.25 AMA PRA Category 1CreditsTM.
